Was great. Both good and service were amazing.
Food was amazing, we had the paella and the vaca frita !! Yummy!!
The White Sangrias could be better, add more flavors, although it’s states it has different flavors, you can’t really taste it, they’re also not strong..
Thank you !!
I like this place and for sure will go back but my first time there was a bit of a mess. At brunch, we ordered two entrees and asked the avocado to be on the side. Not extra avo on the side, just the avo in the dish kept separate cuz I can’t eat it. First they brought out the wrong meals which whatever, that happens all the time so who cares. But then our food came out and one had avocado incorporated, while the other had it on the side as asked. It was a misunderstanding and I felt bad. the staff seemed very overwhelmed as the brunch rush started so we just kept the meals and scraped it off as best we could.
Not a big deal but if you have food sensitivities I recommend being almost annoyingly clear about what you need. I thought I was being super clear but I guess not!
Otherwise the food was great and this place has an awesome vibe and I’ll for sure be back to take my own advice.
Food and drinks - Delicious! We'll be going back. It's a new favorite!
Excellent dining experience which was even better than the original restaurant. My wife ordered the same thing octopus as it is so good, My paella was very good with enough rice being used for two additional days at home.
Could’ve been given a better table. It was our first time at this location so we didn’t know the layout of the restaurant.
The food was amazing I had the salmon which is not spicy at all and my partner had the ribs which was a huge plate overall it was amazing the drinks where to die for I got the mula and than the mojito and both where amazing and my partner got the 7 amigo or something like that which she loved because she’s into spicy but I won’t recommend with you are like me and can’t tolerate spicy food/drinks.
Went here for brunch with a friend. Loved their wide variety of choices and bottomless White or Red Sangria. Atmosphere is festive (we sat in the back garden area). Service was a bit on the slow side but still within the range of acceptable. They limit you to 1.5 hours for brunch so you do feel a bit rushed, so I suggest placing your order as soon as possible so you have ample time to eat and chat.
It was great to be back there. Always a fun place to eat and drink.
A menu with many .Latin American choices and large portions makes this a good choice for diners.
Food took long, too expensive n the food was not all that. I really could’ve taken my appetite somewhere else for half the money n tastier food-Sorry
Excellent food on restaurant week menu good choices. Garden setting is great. Friendly service.
We frequented Calle Ocho at its previous location and the food was outstanding. Though the ambience and the service was spectacular, the food at this new location left us a bit put-off. The food was bland and simply not tasty. Unfortunately, we were rather disappointed. We will go back for the drinks and a couple of appetizers, but not dinner.
Had a wonderful time celebrating my husband’s birthday!!
Back garden setting is lovely!!
The back patio is fabulous. It’s almost like being on vacation.
Food and service were excellent. The spiciness of the guacamole and the ribs was perfect. The noise level was elevated, which was the only drawback to the experience
Too loud (inside) but the Pisco Sours were great! Service was good; my only complaint was that the server tried to take my drink before I was completely finished...at the prices we pay for cocktails here, it's a big pet peeve of mine when waiters take the glass before you've completely finished. It seems pretty obvious to leave it, or at least ask.
Amazing food and service. The staff was friendly and attentive.
I haven’t been to Calle Ocho since the pandemic began. I am happy that they have moved closer to my home and the ambiance is just as beautiful as it was in the previous two locals. The food is just as tasty and the sangria is still great.
We had a party of three for my cousin’s birthday.
Paella was not good. Mussels were dry. Lobster was of poor quality. Others got pork and beef and was not enjoyable.
Been there several times for dinner or drinks. Always enjoy myself. Food is good also drinks.
Terrific food in abundant portions (we especially enjoyed the classico, both with ropa viejo and the chicken escabeche), a pleasantly spacious (although loud) dining room, warm and attentive service. A really great addition to the neighborhood.
The service was by far the best I’ve had in the city. Everyone was so nice and the food was amazing.
The food was delicious! I highly recommend this restaurant! Will definitely be back!
Calle Ocho's move to uptown is a success. A great summer hang
Much to my dismay, the food was not up to par to its former venue on Columbus Ave. My dish could have been from any Latino restaurant in the city. My husband’s “Cuban fried rice” was just rice with few spices. The chicken was flat as a pancake. Out of the four of us, the fish special was the best. But my friend said that she could have made it better.
Food was amazing. Slightly pricey but it is Jersey city
I miss the last location of Calle Ocho. This location isn't the same. That said, the food is very good, but the restaurant lacks the same atmosphere.
Calle Ocho always exceeded my expectations. The ambience was perfect, and the food exceptional. I will be back.
Great food, great service.
This was our first time back since the pandemic. The outdoor seating in the back garden was great as were the cocktails 🍹 The food was very bland though & the menu was pretty limited. No hot sauce or condiments on the table. As it’s close by, we may try it again at some point in the future - maybe it was a really off-night.
Always a great and pleasant dining experience at Calle Ocho!
Amazing experience and food. Will definitely be coming back!!
Calle Ocho moved from the hotel on 72nd st to 105th St. I don't necessarily like this location (both the area and the layout of the restaurant) but the service is the same great quality. The quality of the sangrias have gone way down since I used to go to the other location. It tastes like really cheap wine. If you're going for the brunch, I wouldn't recommend it but overall would recommend the food.
This is the perfect place for any setting it’s not too noisy, i felt comfortable enough to sit inside, the backyard is heated , the food as always was Amazing! The sangria is always a hit!
It was great. Drinks and food are amazing! Thanks
Calle ocho has always been a go-to spot for my husband and me!
