Celebrated my nieces birthday there. Everything was wonderful from the moment we entered. Special request of a round table was met and we were greeted immediately by a charming waiter who offered sangria on the house for each of us. The house dinner rolls were delicious ,baked fresh and served warm. From the appetizers right through desserts ,every bite was delicious offering a Variety if blended flavors. We will surely be back.
My favorite place for brunch in NYC. The Cuban food and sangria are delicious.
Great food. Great service. Great atmosphere
Great service, food was good (my fish was a little cold but still edible). Love this place will go again and recommend.
Hadn't been there in years and went because I had a BlackBoard Eats coupon. Fantastic meal and great service.
Food is great and the brunch is a great value. Servers we're we friendly and attentive
I celebrated my 30th birthday here it was so beautiful I loved it
I don't recommend the fried calamari Dominican style- tasteless and seemed reheaded doughy; the lobster salad was ok.
fun brunch, lots of sangria options, and unique food menu
Really super extremely loud. Very hard to have a conversation here. Sangrias were ok, until I got up, then WHAM, they hit me. Wait staff were pretty attentive and it was nice and different to get seated without a complete party. Turn the music down and I’ll be back to try the sangrias we missed!!
They should have a non-Sangria (cheaper) option for brunch. As someone who doesn't drink alcohol, I did not get $35 worth of value (which is actually $44.40 per person after tax and tip). Service was also not very good, probably because they are very crowded (I went for Saturday brunch), in which case they need more staff working. Food was good, but again, not worth the cost by itself.
Had a great time celebrating my boyfriends birthday. Easily accommodated a party of 10 and the service was exceptional.
Very nice decor! Makes you feel like you’re in Cuba. I had the salmon and it was like an explosion of flavors. Sangria selection is nice and flavorful too. For $35 you get a nice sized entre and unlimited sangria.
Seafood was amazing. Drinks were very good. Bread was delicious. My steak was over cooked, and skirt steak needed more flavor.
The service & food all around. Was excellent. Had Very nice time.
Delicious food & sangria. Attentive service.
I have always thought Calle Ocho was a great restaurant. I was a little disappointed this time. I had the same dish I always have, the beef, shrimp and chicken taco appetizer and it just wasn't as good as I remembered. Don't know why, but maybe it's time to try something else on the menu. I still will go back as often as I can, but the charm is just not there. Sorry guys, I know you try.
Disappointed. Food was good, but pricey. Service was fine. Be careful of what they say. Feels like a car salesman. Lots of offers out there, so check, Groupon, yelp. But watch out because they will try not to honor it.
Restaurant is located in hotel. Loud and over crowded. Waiter did not communicate well. He did not introduce himself. Wasn’t sure if he was runner, bus boy or server. Wait for ladies room was at least 15 minutes. Food was very good. Sangria was below average. Not worth the $35 price fix.
The music was extremely loud and not the best selection.. The sangrías are not what I experienced the first time I visited the restaurant. Food was really good though
I have never had such wonderful service. Despite being incredibly slammed, our waiter Gio was at our table checking on us every couple of minutes. We were NEVER without a full glass of sangria. This is exactly how you want to do boozy brunch.
The food is consistently mediocre. And surprising we were only one of about grew tables yet the service was awful. Do not eat here
Great place for birthday! Place is loud but fun!
Food was good! It was a very pleasant experience and I would recommend Calle Ocho to others.
Great food and great service
The food was not that great and not seasoned well.
Great food and drinks.
Always a good go to for brunch. Everything is yummy and the portions are just right. The unlimited Sangrias during brunch make the price for the meal all worth it.
Amazing brunch place! The sangria alone is worth the trip here
Had a great time at brunch on Saturday. The ambiance was awesome and the food amazing. I had the omelet with home fries and salad with the fresas sangria. Everything was delicious!
My husband and I celebrated our anniversary with an early dinner here and had an amazing time! The food, service, and music were wonderful. We will definitely be returning.
Pleasantly surprised because we’d been to Calle Ocho in its previous location on Columbus Ave and weren’t too impressed. Here, the atmosphere is warm and quiet; the drinks delicious, the service caring and efficient. The calamari was superb and all theee of the main dishes we ordered were very, very good - fresh, tasty and worth re-ordering. We declined dessert because we were full but the experience was excellent. We’ll definitely go back!
Great food, friendly service and overall great time!
Food is great as always and a very good price. Sangria is always tasty and strong. Need a bathroom attendant. One was out of order and two single stall bathrooms for the entire place was not okay. The line took 15 mins minimum. Other than that a great time as always.
have been coming here for years and have always enjoyed the imaginative cuisine, the beautiful presentations, the music and the cocktails. and when something has gone wrong, this place really cares about making it right in contrast to most spots. and the manager, Luis Piedra, is a gem and Calle Ocho is lucky to have him at the helm.
already brought three friends there while visiting New York
My husband and I visited Calle Ocho for the first time as a birthday dinner treat. The neighborhood was nice, the hotel lobby was grand and the restaurant décor & music were very nice. The ribs were great and the sea bass was excellent. My only corrective comment would be my waiter. We were seated quite a while before we saw him and then didn't even know he was our waiter. We're used to a more attentive greeting .
Horrible service, food and treatment. The manger was a very rude man!
Food and service was great, but it was very noisy... imagine people not being able to hear one another and just speaking louder and louder so that you could hear two tables down.... besides that I would recommend
Was for a birthday. Forgot about special instructions to bring a dessert with candle. Very nice people though!
