About Calle Ocho
More festive than a piñata stuffed with a mariachi band and twice as stylish, Calle Ocho’s lively crowd is amped up on Mojitos, Caipirinhas, Sangria and Spanish wine or beer and shows no sign of slowing down. Those not willing or able to holler over the salsa music retire to the two small lounge areas to commiserate. The bar area is a prelude to their Nuevo Latino cuisine in the dining room that will knock your taste buds for a loop. If you’re in need of a quick jump-start, Calle Ocho will get your motor running.

Calle Ocho Ratings and Reviews
After a long day at the Museum of Natural History it was a short walk away, delicious Latin cuisine, nice ambiance and great for celebrating my boyfriends birthday. I mentioned at the door that it was his birthday and although I forgot to remind waiter - staff presented him with a dessert with candle and sang happy birthday at no extra cost. Very nice evening :)
Great food/service/ambiance. The food quality is phenomenal and the crowd was very chill. The hostess made sure that we got the exact table we requested and was very accommodating. Sangria was excellent, bread was amazing and the lobster mashed potatoes were to die for !
Overall I enjoyed the food at Calle Ocho was very tasty ,the music was great and not too loud . The service was good ,the only gripe I have is that we felt rushed. Granted it was a Saturday early evening but we had reservations and were celebrating a birthday. Our check was brought to us without even asking which I found a bit rude . I would go back but probably not for dinner on a weekend.
I went with my best friend to celebrate her birthday! The service was fast and friendly. The complimentary breads were delicious. There are so many different sangria choices and we were switching back and forth between several. At the end of our meal, they surprised her with a small piece of birthday cake and ice cream. We had an amazing time!
I’ve been going to Calle Ocho for brunch for years. Recently they increased their prices significantly. I still kept my reservation, because I’ve always enjoyed my meals there. However, this time the service was terrible. I felt rushed, like an inconvenience. Took us forever to get water and a bread basket. You can’t raise your prices and lower your hospitality. Unfortunately, I won’t be returning.
I've had dinner at Calle Ocho before, but this was my first brunch. It was delicious and clearly a crowd favorite as they had a full house when we got there. The food was fantastic and the energy in the room was high (prpbably because of the unlimited sangria during brunch!).
The food & service was great but the kitchen staff was very loud & we can hear the chefs & the expeditors having personal conversations & calling out the order tickets. The table was not good spot for us or anyone to be seated so close to the kitchen especially if you’re celebrating a special occasion. As we were having dessert I noticed one of the expeditors touching his beard with his blue gloves on & handling/garnishing a few dishes.. this is against food safety standards. Don’t know if I’ll ever go back
Overall - the place was disappointing: not air conditioned well on a hot and humid night. Sangria had too much ice... very little alcohol... my dish (salmon) was ok, but my friend ordered paella and had stomach issues right after... not recommended... even though the service is fine.
Calle Ocho was AMAZING!! This was my first time here - I took my boyfriend for a birthday brunch. Unlimited sangria included with every meal was absolutely delicious. The food was insanely good. And they were very accommodating. Definitely recommend for a boozy brunch!
Third time dining here and it has been consistently good each time. A friend visited from Chicago this week and we went twice because he enjoyed it so much. He had the Paella, I had the snapper and the sea bass. All dishes were delicious and flavorful. Service could be a little better, but generally they are attentive.
This establishment was classy all the way.
The Calamari was delicious, but the Paella was ORGASMIC!!! I would even say that it was the best that I ever consumed, and I have had plenty over the years. Our waitress was attentive and pleasant. We were celebrating our anniversary. I must have mentioned it when I made the reservations because I never mentioned it to the waitress. However, at the end of our dinner, she surprised us with the Chocolate Cake dessert that looked like dominoes. It was SPECTACULAR!!! This will definitely be a repeat place.
