Beautiful atmosphere , great food and amazing service
Beautiful place to eat some Cuban food.. Loved the idea of complimentary coctails while you wait for food and also during eating your meal.. Simply justified..
Definitely will visit again and I also suggest to try this place out..
Amazing brunch! Best in the city!
Vaca frita was amazing!
Ceviche Hondureno wasn't good didn't taste as a cevihe, the duck wasn't good also.
Just okay. Our food came less than five minutes after we ordered. It was not hot and obviously not cooked to order. I expected more from a place like this. Not supposed to be a fast food joint. We won’t go back.
A bit overrated, barely any alcohol in the sangrias and chaotic atmosphere
The overall experience was great. The only concern I had was that they rush you from ordering your drinks all the way to dessert. I understand that it’s bottomless and that other people have reservations. They just could be a little discreet about moving along. I saw the hostess walk around a few times and it could’ve been that he was just attentive but I felt like I was being monitored on how fast I was eating.
Extremely noisy, food really mediocre, waiters nice but in a hurry
We went in for our anniversary dinner. The service was attentive and pleasant, as usual. Mostly efficient. Love the vibrant, colorful decor. The food and drinks were fantastic, as always. Dishes are unusually creative and inventive. Even the bread at the beginning is one of our favorite items at the restaurant! Delightful, overall. Upscale casual. Perfect balance. We will return!
Had an absolutely great time, service was excellent.
I go here every year for Valentine's Day for the past 8 years. I got to go to the other Calle Ocho before it was moved to the hotel and I was never disappointed. Keep doing exactly what you doing. Bring back the flan and pollo peruano please. Thanks.
Mediocre, especially the food. All orders were close to tasteless and without the proper seasonings you might expect from Cuban food.
Great place, however we were disappointed with Sangria and cocktails as were the patrons next to us. Specifically, it was sweet red wine with fruit, that not Sangria, and cocktails had less than 1/3 giver if that. We relayed this to the Manager on call Wed., 7/14, and he took my cocktail, went to the bar, made the cocktail himself and brought it over to me. Yes, he's obviously a very good bar tender because I truly enjoyed it. Now that, ladies and gentlemen, is a Manager.
Great paella, and cocktails. Wife thought the steak sauce a little over powering, but paired with very good lobster empenada. Slightly slow on drink service, but very friendly and attentive staff.
Great place, great food with nice portions and beautiful presentation. We are definitely going back!
Fabulous food...brunch to die for! Good service & great sangria! One of my favorites.
Amazing!! The ceviche was the best I ever had! Service was also phenomenal. It was easy to get a reservation, the day of, for two people. Was by far the best meal I had in NYC on this quick weekend trip.
The service was amazing and the seating arrangements couldn't have been more perfect. It's as if the waiter's know the right spot to sit couple's. I do not usually go to the city in general so I was a bit skeptic to go to a fancy Spanish spot and waste money. I must say this was worth every penny, I ordered the "Bistec" which has to be my top 5 favorite Steaks I have ever eaten. My lady got a "Lechon" and let me tell you as a Puerto Rican I could not be more impressed with how the pork came out...it practically melted off the bone. When my lady is happy I am happy and immediately she expressed wanting to go back. You've got my business Calle Ocho thank you for a splendid pre-Valentines dinner experience.
Great customer service!
Really cool spot, 1st time at this location and really enjoyed the food, service and ambiance.
Really sorry to report our disappointment with our meal tonight. Service mediocre and food was burnt (duck) and quite tough. Sangria like grape juice. Things seem to have deteriorated since our last visit...we are not so difficult to please...
Everything about our dining experience was average. First off, we were sat in a weird slightly cold side dining room away from the music and fun ambiance of the main dining room. We sat down and the table was very wobbly and I was so cold I had to keep my jacket on. Second, the food from restaurant week menu was very uninspiring and did not make me want to come back and try the rest of the menu. Lastly, the service was friendly, but slow. The prices are very steep on the regular menu ($15 for an arepa?!) for what seems like standard average food to me. Sadly, I wouldn't recommend Calle Ocho.
My friend and I came here to try their food since they were participating in restaurant week. I like the decor of the restaurant and the service we received. The appetizers and entrees were good however the dessert was not. I instantly could taste that the cake came straight from the microwave which completely changed the texture of the cake and made it gummy. My friend and I got two different desserts however our ice creams tasted the same even though they were supposed to be different. I would return here to try the different savory foods from the menu as well the drinks but I will definitely avoid dessert.
Unfortunately, our party of four could find little or nothing to recommend on the menu. The paella was a real disappointment as was the fish. The steak was adequate and the duck likewise but absolutely nothing to write home about. Very disappointing.
We went for Restaurant Week and we enjoyed every minute of it. This was my third time going and have always received excellent service and good food. Great job!
Walked into the hotel lobby to an unexpected cove on the right! They relocated about 6 years ago (that's hire long I haven't been) but the usual ambiance and amazing, friendly staff was there to maker me feel at home!
The yuca bread rolls are to die for (I say on my second order)! Food was e ever so tasty and full of flavor. But it's truly the staff that makes me want to frequent this place!
Food was good but nothing to rave about. Thought it was a more Energetic place but seemed more like a regular dinner date type.
Great for brunch. Good price for food and drinks
Loved the music
