Calle Dao (Knife Street) is a Cuban-Chinese fusion restaurant designed to pay homage to Havana’s once-thriving El Barrio Chino. Formerly the largest Chinatown in Latin America, El Barrio Chino is now confined to one narrow street, Calle Cuchillo – Knife Street - from which Calle Dao takes its name.
The cuisine, cocktails and décor of Calle Dao strive to transport our guests back to El Barrio Chino when it was at the height of its existence. Calle Dao has created mouthwatering dishes that seamlessly blend Cuban staples with Asian flavors. The cocktails, created by Mixologist Joy Daniel, also meld the old world with the new using historic names for libations with modern ingredients
Step into a bygone era and enjoy a modern dining experience at Calle Dao.

Great service, nice decor. Noise level got high around peak hour of 7-8pm. Nice surprise to find Happy Hour oysters and clams were $1 each. Most of our dishes were a tad salty for my palette (paella, cauliflower, pig’s ear) although dessert was decadent and spot on (banuelos)!

Enjoyed the food, the setting and the service. We will be back soon. We were there towards the end of the night and there weren’t many people, so we requested the music be lowered a little. They were very accommodating and polite.

Really great service. I got a dish that was cooked to well and the gladly comped it. It was a very nice touch. They were are also super attentive. They played great music and the food was pretty good as well. The ambiance with the mood light could have been dimmer but all in all it was great!

Fun place to order a couple of dishes to share. Very loud — not the place if you want to have an intimidate conversation.

Food was good, service a bit slow but overall I was disappointed with the dessert. I ordered their tres leches cake. it took awhile for it to come out to the point that I had to ask them to wrap it to go. When I did try to eat it in the office it was still a bit frozen hence I realized that it was taking very long because they were trying to defrost it.

Fun atmosphere. Service was just awful even though place was only half full. We had a large group. Waiter acted put out Out of 8 people, one person got food 15 min before others, 2 orders were wrong and one was cold. Really disappointing.

Wonderful happy hour menu, $1 oysters, $7 mojitos were delicious. A real standout was the peking-style Cornish hen prepared in a banana leaf. We will return to try other dishes.
