Calistoga Inn Restaurant & Brewery Ratings and Reviews
Th Food was Great, had a very rude ordeal with the bartender, I asked for a Tom Collins and he did not know how to make it so he asked how to make it when I began to tell him he made a very rude remark to my wife and walked away and never came back to take our order, after that incident two other couples left the bar, this happened on Saturday February 17th around 7:15 pm not a very customer friendly Bartender I will never go to the bar again if he is present
We enjoyed a very nice meal here. Started off with the Pacific oysters which were very fresh and oh so good. For the main course, my wife had the salmon and I had the Chicken Abruzzi, both were delicious. The Porter ale was outstanding. We’ll definitely be back.
Had an early New Year’s Eve dinner. Restaurant was not crowded. Service was fair, at best, food was ok. Brussel sprouts were amazing, but the tortilla soup was awful. It tasted like red enchilada sauce, I would not recommend it. Construction is going on right outside the restaurant.
Charm, charm , charm both inside and out. The food, ambiance and service always shines. Their dining room is understated and charming, while the outside patio is the best around for alfresco dining. We’ve been in the Valley 30+ years and this is one of our favorite go to places.
Food was great, wine I felt was overpriced given it is in Napa. Very dissappointed I had put in a note request for a surprise birthday dessert given we were there to celebrate my mom's 60th but it was totally ignored and I left very dissappointed by the service.
First, the all-star of Calistoga Inn was the food - wowza! It was so good, that the only downside is that we got full and eventually had to stop eating it. It was off the charts good - scallops and pallalla were top notch. It is a darling, charming restaurant and very romantic. We were sitting by a few couples that were loudly watching a football game which took away from some of the ambience, but we still had a great time.
Delighted to be there on Christmas Eve. The scallop risotto dish on the special menu that night was one of the best dishes I've ever had--really delicious. Also the persimmon/endive/frisee/etc salad--excellent ingredients and prep. Atmosphere is lively, not too loud, convivial. Very good service and an all-around happy experience. Thank you!
Went on weekday and it was empty. My wife ordered the skirt steak which was as tough as shoe leather. The potatoes and vegetables were uncooked. The vegetables were sent back and returned loaded with salt. I had seafood pasta which was fair. Wouldn’t return.
Four of us had a lovely Thanksgiving dinner… The food was excellent and the portions were very generous. What made the experience even more special was we had phenomenal service from very warm and accommodating staff members. I'd like them to know that we greatly appreciated them giving up this holiday for us and for being so attentive and nice!
Dinner was fabulous. My wife ate the crab cakes for an entree and there were two very satisfying ones that were a complete meal and I had the country paella, which was delightfully spicy and tasty and I enjoyed each bite more slowly than I often do when eating a meal taking it all in. We also really liked the ambiance, the staff and the soft electric guitar that was playing. The music was perfect as it was delightfully there in the background, but did not dominate and make conversation difficult. All in all a wonderful night.
This place could really use some new life. The menu items are stale, as is the decor and sweet, but poorly trained wait staff. We started with the clams and muscles. The broth was pretty much a bland chicken stock, but the muscles and clams were quiet meaty and well cooked. Then we shared a wedge salad. It was the saddest hunk of iceberg you ever saw ... browned at the edges and core included. No love or pride of food in that dish! We sampled it anyway, and the taste was surprisingly ok. Next we had the jerked chicken and prosciutto pizza. The pizza was actually quite tasty! Excellent fresh dough, cooked to perfection, with a crust that held a crunchy exterior and doughy lovely middle. Plus I love figs, especially with marscapone, and on a pizza? Yes please! The chicken was so salty it was barely edible. Which is a shame because the jerk seasoning was actually nice, and the potato cake underneath was very good. We got a lemon dessert to go. It was pretty good, but t would have been nice to have some forks!
We also did a beer flight after a day of wine tasting. We love beer. Sadly only the porter was good.
We enjoyed the food. The service was not as good as it could have been, for as many employees as there are and for the prices you pay it is reasonable to expect to be checked on and drinks refilled which we did not get. Overall the ambiance was nice and the food was great.
Great food & atmosphere! We dined on the outside covered patio while enjoying live music, a guitar player. We both started with the tomato, fig and burrata cheese salad. It was amazing- fresh heirloom tomatoes that tasted like they were just picked from the garden. The dinner of fresh scallops on a bed of corn and risotto was amazing; simple flavors and fresh ingredients. I would go back again and order the exact same meal. Great wines and friendly attentive service by the waitstaff.
