Very pleasant & cozy with superb customer service!
Our Friend Kat adores Park Aviara Hyatt. She can rarely attend due to wheelchair issues. This was her birthday celebration and she thoroughly enjoyed it - as we all did. Excellent service.
Really fabulous and creative Thanksgiving buffet. Wonderful eclectic mix of seasonal favorites and surprising combinations. Dessert is to die for. We had two adults and a fussy teenage and everyone left (more than) satisfied!
When we come to SoCal each year to get away from the AZ heat, we make it a point to have Sunday Champagne Brunch at the California Bistro. This was our third time this year.
It is in a beautiful setting with marvelous, friendly and professional service. Christina was right there bringing replacement utensils, filling our glasses and inquiring if we needed anything.
The selection of food ran from king crab legs to prime rib to fruits, huge peeled shrimp, cerviche, salads, lox, pastries, cheeses, omelettes, desserts - everything you could want.
The patio for al fresco dining is our favorite. Gorgeous.
Can't wait until next summer to return to the California Bistro!
My high expectations were unmet. The experience was unique in its lack of civility. The wait staff was poorly trained and unfamiliar with the menu and wine list.
Jeremiah, our waiter, ended the meal with a lecture. The gist was that we had chosen the wrong place to lunch. We had come to relax and dine. A fast food meal wasn't our goal. We were told that we didn't belong ,and Jeremiah suggested that we take our business elsewhere in the future.
Despite the critical attitude, we tipped generously. It's not in my nature not to treat people poorly.
We are locals who could have become regulars.
This was unique in my years of travel and meals at the finest hotels worldwide.
I suggest management address this embarrassment and introduce immediate remedial action.
We had a great Father's Day brunch.
Always a good experience, and the food was excellent, and the staff was wonderful this past Sunday.
I dined their in order to take my friends out after they had me over so many times to their place. I can't imagine why anyone would pay so much for a meal, but I think my friends liked it. And it was nice to at least have tried it. The staff were very nice, but I think they were a little overworked. There was no one at the egg station or the carving board most of the time. The diners had to ask for help, or even cut their own prime rib. But, all and all, it was a nice dining experience.
Attended for Easter brunch. It was amazing. Oh my god, best dessert table ever and best breakfast food ever. Fresh seafood and eggs made to order. Simply amazing
The brunch food was excellent both wide variety and quality. Service attentive.
However, expect to pay $100 per head.
New Year's eve buffet was superb. Just enough food variety to satisfy all tastes without it being overwhelming or over-indulgent. Everything tasted excellent. The service was great. Was worth it.
The selection of food did not equal the cost. Way over priced for the limited selection of food. Disappointed is the best choice of words I can give.
To be honest I thought the chairs were to low budget looking, it needs a little music,
To quiet and can hear the kitchen, I didn't like the chard salad, lettuce was to tough they left the ends on so it took me 10 minutes to cut the thing just give me a good salad please that's already cut nothing I have to work too hard at.
Everything was wonderful EXCEPT the time limits. The brunch didn't start until noon and the food was put away at 2. When we go to brunch we like to enjoy the company we are with. We don't immediately jump up and eat. We savor the first (and sometimes second) glass of champagne while catching up on life.
The place is beautiful; the food was delicious; and the value wasn't too bad. The only thing that was a bummer was that the service was really slow. It took almost 40 minutes for them to finally take our order. Good place if you are not tight on time.
Amazing place for a special meal. Brunch starts at noon.
Great food, great location, but a bit overpriced (paying for location). Good food selection but very poor selection of salads
Very disappointed . For the price, there was a poor selection, most of the hot food was cold. One of the cakes was frozen in the middle. Couldn't find anyone to make the omelette or carve the prime rib. Mimosas were good but they must have been understaffed because it took forever to get a refill. What food there was was good, not excellent . Guess you are paying for the hotel ambience which was beautiful , but the Bistro restaurant was not exceptionsl
It looked like a converted conference room with Denny's style tables. The waiter was great. I think he was embarrassed at the room.
At $80-90 a head for a very minimum Buffett. We had an 8:30 reservation and by 9:15 they were tearing down the Buffett.
We will never go back. Who would have thought there was a Denny's at Aviara!!
I was looking forward to our brunch here since it seemed to have good reviews. The resort seems pretty posh as you're coming down the drive. Parking is valet ONLY (bring cash!). There are no signs whatsoever in the resort lobby to direct you to the restaurant, and it is not easy to find on your own - down a long hallway, take a right, then take a left. Once we arrived (at 10:45am) for our 11am reservation, we were told by the hostess that they were tearing down the breakfast buffet and would be setting up the lunch buffet 11:30. So we could order ala carte or eat quickly from the breakfast buffet or wait 45 minutes for the lunch buffet. We decided that the 3 of us would do the breakfast buffet. However, when our waitress arrived, we didn't have a chance to tell her - she asked if we wanted coffee and when we replied yes, she sped off without waiting for our questions about the buffet. So we waited for her to return with the coffee. And we waited. And waited. Meanwhile saw several other staff members walking around, none of them helping customers. Our poor waitress was the ONLY one of several who was helping customers! When she finally returned with the coffee, it was 10:55. We asked if we could do the buffet and she hesitated, told us they were tearing it down, but said if that was ok with us it was ok with her. Predictably, the food was cold and picked over and pretty mediocre. The quiche was good but cold. Also were bagels, bread, jam, pancakes, bacon, and sausage. Hardly worth the $30 per person! I realize they have no control over this, but there was a screaming toddler at the next table. I wouldn't go back. Nor recommend.
Great food with fresh ingredients
Service was lackluster caring
food was delicious. The view is lovely. It was pleasant to talk to my friend. They do try to cater to special food sensitivities.
Had a very nice buffet breakfast outside on the patio. Good service and selection of food.
We had a wonderful lunch with friends and enjoyed it so much, we are going again! Food for delicious, service excellent!
It was all just 'ok'.... no ambience, food was pretty ordinary.
We have been here several times for brunch and it never disappoints. My family enjoys the buffet, but I order off the menu. Either way, the food is delicious. The service is great and it's a nice quiet atmosphere. The view on the patio is great as well. It's on the expensive side, but a very classy place to go.
I was impressed and amazed at the culinary choices - really good food and nicely presented on the buffet. Really liked the Suchi presentation as well as the creative deserts!
The service however reminded me of Denny's on a busy Saturday - for $85 / plate it was disappointing to be busing our own dishes and having to ask two and three times for drinks and yogurt for our 2 year old (who not surprisingly had a hard time being patient). It didn't help that the outdoor seating was directly in the wind so when the door next to us opened with wait-people going in and out it blew napkins and paper across the room.
Not what you'd expect from a Hyatt Regency....
Excellent management and staffing yields excellent customer service.
We went to Ca. Bistro at Aviara for Easter Brunch. The staff was friendly and efficient, very accommodating. The dining area was super casual, there were not even any table clothes on the tables. The view was beautiful. The food was creative and tasted very, very good. The deserts were by far the highlight of the day. Absolutely the best I've ever had anywhere out in San Diego. Our server was adorable and friendly. She made sure we had plenty of the fresh squeezed melon/orange juice which was delicious. We will be going back on a non-holiday to enjoy again!
My family really enjoyed the brunch at the Hyatt! The set-up was wonderful, there was lots of amazing food and it was a beautiful day!
Excellent weekend buffet, service and ambiance. The chef was amazing and the parking fee was even validated.
We went to a Christmas Eve buffet and it was excellent! The service was great, the selection of food was very nice, with a wide range of items from turkey roulade, prime rib, halibut, seafood bar, wonderful salads and suburb desertsl We will go back for future holiday buffets even thought we initially thought the price of $65 per person was too high. It was well worth it.
This is a beautiful hotel in a breathtaking setting. But the restaurant is a noisy coffee shop, at best. The menu is limited, but they do offer a buffet, which is just too much for lunch. We were ignored, for the most part. The wine list is very expensive by the glass. I definitely will not go back again.
My husband and I dined here around 11:45 am and unfortunately, there was only one other person dining here when we arrived and about 6 people when we left, other then an employee lunch in another room in the back. This is really a shame. This is a great place for lunch. We ate outside and it was just beautiful looking over the hills and the golf course. The food and service were both terrific. The Park Hyatt team does a wonderful job. It's really too bad that more people don't partake in lunch here. Since this is in a hotel, maybe diners come later.
We had the buffet, a nice selection of food and the service was excellent.
We have had brunch there several times-the last maybe two yrs ago on Father's Day. We were very disappointed so did not return for quite awhile. On our return last Sunday we were rather surprised to find the selection was greatly reduced. Also, there were some empty dishes that were not refilled until just before we left. Having said all of that-the food you offered was really plenty (well, maybe a waffle would have been good) the service was great and we will come back.
I thought the menu was very limited, but I was expecting to see a nice buffet. I took a friend here for the buffet for her birthday and was disappointed that they only have it on weekends. Their website did not specify this. Also, there were very few people in the restaurant and everyone apparently wanted to sit next to the window where we were. The tables were rather close and there were two men on each side of us. At one table they were so loud we could hear their whole conversation and the other two spent time on their phones having conversations with someone else.
For the high price this was a bust! We tried Grand Del Mar Brunch in Del Mar and the cost was the same but the amount and variety of food between both brunches was like night and day. Not enough variety was the biggest difference plus here the food was placed on window ledges, how tacky. This brunch should have been priced 20-30 dollars less to be considered. Way over priced.
I live in LA and I have been to many hotel brunches (Ritz, Four Seasons, you name it). This one is a lot more intimate with quality over quantity. There may be fewer choices but every single ingredient is so fresh and so delicious. You can tell the chef put his/her personal touch and love into every single morsel you take. The views are also lovely and the staff could not be more professional and friendlier. We also ordered the fresh juice of the day (melon and banana mix) and it was the best juice I've ever had!
Sad to see the decline after Park Hyatt took over for Four Seasons. Service was horrible, food selection considerably smaller. And the once vibrant and busy Sunday brunch had maybe four tables. Not going there again
