Caleb's American Kitchen
Adjacent to Peddler’s Village in Bucks County, PA, Caleb's is open daily for breakfast, lunch and for dinner. Currently accepting reservations for dinner only.
Friends of ours had never been to Caleb's, so we took them there for Sunday breakfast. Definitely a great place for breakfast, and a great value. Make sure you call for a reservation, though. Without one, even at 9:45am, we'd not have had a table. That's how great their food is! J.L., Lumberville, PA
They do a very brisk Sunday Brunch and you can understand why. Pumpkin pancakes, frittata, eggs benedict, French toast were all delicious. We had a reservation and even though it was very crowded, our table was ready for immediate seating.
Food was great. I was amazed how well I could hear in the large, full, open dining room! They definitely paid attention to acoustics in the dining room which made for a very pleasant experience!
Food here used to be much better. Menu hasn't changed in awhile and my salmon, although I asked for medium rare was over cooked. Service was excellent, but don't think I'd go back again.
This is my absolute new favorite place in the New Hope/Peddler's Village area. My husband and I went there to celebrate our wedding anniversary, and it was incredible. We still have not stopped talking about the food. We had the special of the day soup, which was a pureed carrot soup with ginger and coconut; probably the best soup I've ever had. We had the house salad which was a mixture of I think turnip greens, radishes and a few other things and a very light dressing that enabled you to actually TASTE the vegetables in the salad, not overpower them. Perfect! My husband had the evening special which was curried monk fish and mussels with bok choy. My husband and I are not fans of curry, but this was a light sweet Asian curry, and it was delicious! I had the crab cakes with sweet potatoes, brussels and apple slaw, and honey mustard remoulade. I was in heaven. The best part about this meal was everything was healthy, locally sourced, and the price was very good for the area. The portions were perfect as well.
Our server (wish I could remember her name!) was fantastic. She went over and above to make sure we would be good with what we ordered, and followed up later without being intrusive. One minor thing was that I had mentioned on my OpenTable reservation was that this was for our anniversary. While the host wished us happy anniversary, he proceeded to put us at a table right next to the front door - not very conducive for a romantic anniversary dinner. I pointed that out to him, and he admitted that was was not a good choice and gave us a better table. Props for correcting; he was younger and that may not be a priority for his age! :)
It is also a beautiful, picturesque atmosphere. Windows all around and nice artwork on the walls make for a very pleasant dining experience. It's a BYOB. We don't drink so that wasn't an issue for us. They bring water to the table in very pretty bottle. Nice touch.
We will definitely be back! Thanks!
Food was good . Server was sweet but very new , Long wait for food , got wrong salads and no dressing . Preferred novice server to mean waitress we had during one of our visits . Keep returning because the food is always delicious . Always temperature too warm in restaurant . Food is always great and love the complimentary aperitif. Nice touch .
The food and service were both exceptional!
Food and service was excellent!
Remains one of our favorite restaurants. You can always find something interesting to eat, whether for an entire meal or just soup, salad, sandwich! Always fresh with use of local farms.
My husband and I went to Caleb's. He had the filet medallions and I had the mushroom stroganoff. Both were fantastic. We also shared the daily special Harvest salad which was very good and the dessert Blondie was well worth it!
Why do I like Caleb’s. Just start with the man himself. Treats you like a lifelong friend the moment you enter. Staff is helpful, friendly and always courteous. Farm to table menu is terrific. Location is next to Peddlers Village for a stroll and shopping after your meal. Of all the restaurants the wife and I dine at, we choose Caleb’s most often:
The food was very good. I enjoyed both appetizer and entrée. My dinner guest
We have eaten here approximately 5-6 times over the last two years and always love the fresh menu, environment, and the friendly and attentive staff.
Other than a little bit of a back up
In the kitchen on a Saturday night, everything was great. Food, service etc. I go here often and I like that they change the menu a lot.
It is always a pleasure.
The six people at our dinner all loved the food. We enjoyed the new fall menu. Service was excellent.
food excellent and server caroline was so sweet and attentive!!
Service and atmosphere were great. Food was a little greasy for our taste and sandwich was so big it was difficult to eat easily.
Wonderful ambience. Excellent service and great meal choices. Close enough to New Hope without the parking hassles.
Server was moderately attentive and seemed to be going through the motions. Wild boar was a bit tough. Moderate value for money for the lobster roll appetizer. Caleb is a nice guy and is his own best ambassador. Kitchen and servers must do more to back him up.
After an afternoon during the Scarecrow Festival we enjoyed our dinner at Caleb’s. The atmosphere is clean and modern , open and airy. Friendly service and healthy, fresh and sourced as much as possible with food from local farmers! Wonderful food. We also like that it’s a BYOB. Cappuccino was great.
Sunday brunch was delish, bright atmosphere and lovely service. We were a little squeezed in and almost on top of our seated neighbors to each side. Will definitely go back!
Caleb's is clean and crisp in appearance. I gave it 4 stars for ambiance and not 5, but that should not be considered a negative. it is what it is, and by that a great place to have a meal. It's a BYO but we brought nothing this evening. Wife had the ever changing house salad and I opted for my standard red and yellow beet salad. Both were outstanding. Rack of lamb was one of the special entrees. My wife had it and it was perfectly done as ordered (medium rare) and seasoned beautifully. I opted for the Fillet Mignon dish as my dish also was prepared to perfection. I added a bowl of their seafood chowder and it was great. We had no room for dessert, but Chef came around with chocolate liqueur cordials for the diners, and that was sufficient and very good. This was out third visit to Caleb's and we will be back. My understanding is that they are open for breakfast, lunch, dinner and also feature a brunch, I believe on the weekend? Not sure of that. Bon Appetit!!!
Friendly, service oriented, wonderful food preparation.
We like the ambience, the food and the service. We keep
We enjoy going to Caleb's. Highly recommend trying the cheese plate.
Was a wonderful treat
We were greeted nicely and served by an attentive wait staff. Lots of gluten free options as I have celiac disease.
The food was fresh, locally sourced, delicious and creatively presented
I’d highly recommend and will be back
Caleb's is always calm, quiet and good! The best place in the areafor lumch
EVERYTHING is ALWAYS perfect when we dine at Caleb's. this time we felt like eating the BEST hamburger in bucks so that's what we did bc Calebs has hamburger nite on tuesdays!
there are 3 choices but i would HIGHLY RECOMMEND the first one on their list ....short rib burger!
WOW! It's THE BEST IN BUCKS as i said before! There are so many other delicious choices on the menu however when in the mood for a hamburger, this is THE ONE! And i might also add that he uses the most wonderful small soft hamburger roll which i have not come upon anywhere else that i know of since i was a kid! this is the same roll that i nostalgically remember from the corner drug store that had a wonderful soda fountain and a hamburger and a coke were $ .25!
Nice , local place we go to pretty often, great service, friendly stuff .
Monday is “Local’s Day” at Caleb’s.
The prix fixed menu is inventive - food is excellent and creative. Service is professional and the Value is incredible!
Dined here several times for brunch and lunch. First visit for dinner, and it was great. Four different entree’s and everyone was completely satisfied- and the soups were especially good. Caleb’s does a fine presentation!
Great food. Our waitress/server was excellent. Would definitely go back again.
Food was generally very good
Beet salad was excellent but the lobster & crab soup so-so as the potatoes and celery overpowered the scraps of lobster and crab. Pork chop was excellent as was the salmon.
Was there Tuesday night on a first date; which was fantastic! It was burger night so we both decided to try the house beef brisket blend and were not disappointed. Fresh ingredients and build your own style was a nice touch. Also had the cheese board and service was attentive. Great BYO. Would return.
We have been to Caleb's many times . It is always great. We are never disappointed! This time was no exception! We will return! We always do!!
Great casual spot, food was nice. Very pleasant place and service was exceptional!
Breakfast is awesome! Service is great! Really like the atmosphere.
Food was delicious. Freshly sourced and seasonal. The ambience was perfect. We could all talk without having to shout which is a pleasant change. Waitress was informative regarding where the products were sourced and how it the food was prepared. It was pricey but worth it. We will certainly go back.
Food choices were unique. Went for lunch and had a delicious turkey sandwich on walnut raisin bread!
