Took my wife for a Saturday evening date. The restaurant is nicely appointed with an amazing western view from 930ft. altitude. Beware the sunset as there didn't seem to be shade or tint on the western windows. Bring sunglasses in case. Large separate wine menu, but nothing denoting types of beer, cocktails, or NA drinks available in the dinner menu. We aren't big wine drinkers so we stuck to water and iced tea. Looking after I've found out the lunch menu has beer and cocktail listings.
Grilled prawn bruschetta tasted great, even thought the tails were still on the shrimp. Menu does not note that you get 3 two/three bite servings for the $19. The Caprese salad uses burrata mozzarella (the outer shell is solid mozzarella, while the inside contains stracciatella and cream, giving it an unusual, soft texture) which is a little odd when you are trying to spear a tomato with your fork and the cheese slips off. Also the produce stickers were still on a couple of the 5 or 6 small tomato pieces ($13). I had the 6 Hour Braised Boneless Beef Short Rib with potato au gratin and carrots ($27). It was great and came out hot. My wife had the butternut squash ravioli and seemed to enjoy it ($22). Service was difficult to judge because they were a server short with no notice. Our waitress had a large and busy area to serve and was practically jogging back and forth and from table to table. She was very nice and apologized profusely and we were very understanding. She even offered to comp my iced tea when it took a while arrive.
The dessert menu looked great, but we did not partake.
I would try again, maybe later in the evening than the 7:15 we went. Would be good for two couples as the tables were large enough to accommodate.

The view is unparalleled. The service and food are in great need of improvement and intervention. Better to pack a picnic and find a spot nearby for a better experience.

I often eat at this restaurant, however tonight they lacked servers and therefore the service was poor. For example, I ordered a beer that did not get served. First course utensils where removed but replaced. We needed to flag down different staff that was walking by as our waiter disappeared. The restaurant was empty with only 5 tables occupied.

I haven't been back here for a long time. After this meal, I remembered now. The view, location and parking are the attraction. However, the food quality is really average. Luckily, the price is average as well. So, it's not a total lost. I was recommended the French dip at brunch. The beef tasted funny. For sure, it was not quality beef nor fresh. I returned it for a greasy and shinny battered fish and chip. The fish is okay, the chips are Crispy and tasty but the excess oil batter ruined the dish. The service was a okay. It may appear to be fancy but not.

We tend to celebrate an early Easter and Calcutta Grill never disappoints and that's why we enjoy going there. We love their version of Sat. brunch as it is not a buffet, but a lovely menu of breakfast and lunch plated items. Our guests ordered the variety of Eggs Benedict, Omelets, Fish & Chips, Prime Rib Dip, and the scrumptious Calcutta Burger. If you like Bloody Marys, you have to try their Queen Mary and if you are up to it, check out the King Mary which could be a meal in itself. We appreciated them accommodating our seating request since we were a group of 9. Service was excellent and we never felt rushed. Thank you for another enjoyable afternoon.

The menu choices were a bit boring, too much red meat, and pricey.
Need a better selection of appetizers.
Staff were great.

Service was quite inattentive, we waited approx 30 min for food order, and it was not complicated (2 breakfasts, one salad). Even had to ask waitperson to check on order. If it had been swamped it would be understandable but it was after lunch hour and not crowded

We went for Sunday brunch - disappointing
I ordered American breakfast which included 2 bacon and 2 sausage - there was no sausage - asked and she brought it later
My husband had shaved prime rib and eggs - beef was very, very tough

Truly, the best fish and chips I've had in years. The faux newspaper was a wonderful touch, taking me back in memory to many fish and chip carryouts on greasy newspapers while living in Scotland and England.

My wife (it was our anniversary) had the lamb burger, and it was fabulous, too. Just being together and able to enjoy the wonderful view in a relaxed and friendly surrounding made for a perfect anniversary lunch. We will definitely return, and probably not wait a year to do so.

I also want to say a good word for Kyle who was our server. He was friendly and attentive, an excellent waitperson. Best of all, he reminded us of our oldest son, John-Michael, who also worked as a waitperson years ago at the Calcutta Grill. So it was almost like being served by our son, which was an added pleasure on our anniversary.

We went here for my Wife's Birthday recently. We also had family from out of town and were excited to show them the Calcutta Grill, as we have really enjoyed it in the past. Unfortunately, the dinner went down hill fast. Over the evening, this included:

- getting food out of order
- missing a salad for my daughter, then not being able to find our server.
- The replacement salad was obviously thrown together from scraps.
- my wife's dish being undercooked.
- Waiting 15 minutes for a replacement, only to get her original plate back, with half still undercooked, but the rest overcooked
- Not being able to find our server again for a long time

There was more, but we had really given up at this point. It is unlikey we will return.

Our experience was a bit schizophrenic here for a Pre-Valentine's Day date. We were seated immediately to a quiet table in the corner with a magnificent view of the golf course, Bellevue, and Seattle Skylines with the lakes in-between. We started with a bowl of French Onion Soup (pretty darn good) and the beet/heirloom carrot/goat cheese dressing salad (pretty tasteless). My wife ordered the Sea Scallops with White Beans and Chorizo and I ordered the signature dish 6 hour braised short ribs. The Sea Scallops were cooked nicely but if there were any more salt in the dish, it would be inedible. Overall, almost good, but not really. My braised short ribs were another story. I kinda knew it was gonna be disappointing when the black tennis ball-sized piece of short rib kinda rolled around on my plate instead of squished into tender pieces under my knife and fork. The potatoes au gratin were undercooked and had an apple like texture. Pretty disappointing. The cuisine this time was a fatal flaw for the Calcutta Grill, but view and service were both excellent. I'll mention that we've had good experiences in the Pub next door several times, but were pretty sad to not have restaurant side be similar. PS: To note the great service, I left my coat and had no issues getting it back the next day with a smile from the friendly staff.l

Went for the view with an out of town guest. The service was non existent. The wait person was OK but we had to ask for water every time it was needed and then the bus person would only fill up the glass for the one who requested it. Looks like they have a bunch of young, inexperienced kids there who don't know what their job entails. I wasn't even done as I wanted to look at the dessert menu and the server brought our bills.

A fantastic venue for a small 50th birthday celebration! Our food was fantastic- fillets, a chicken dish, a seafood pasta dish- num! The ambiance was perfect- not loud at all. Our server - Donte?- I think, was extremely accommodating and friendly. He had great suggestions and made us feel like the most important table in the room. The view is spectacular any month of the year. I highly recommend this restaurant for brunch, lunch and dinner. And those Bloody Marys? Famous!!!

This is the second time the very same wait staff member who served us spilled food on our table and guest. Not sure if they are short staffed during lunch hour or if she is just always too distracted, but it really did not bode well at our table at all.

Caprese salad had only one piece of cheese with 5 slices of tomato. Not a great value for $13. And the salmon was over cooked. To top it off, we were given someone else’s food - twice; they did at least acknowledge their mistakes right away. Beautiful facility in a great location; if run properly I think it could be a gold mine. Oh well.

We spent over 200 and the food was just mediocre. Very dissiponted with the French Onion Soup, Short Ribs, seafood Pasta (so fishy the seafood was not fresh) and the desserts tasted like they had been in the refrigerator for days. Our bottle of wine was good. Such a sad experience for a place that sits on top of the world.

Always takes a bit of time for service. Pretty pricey, but it's always been. A bit of a limited menu. Ordered an appetizer which did not come before the meal. Came with it...appetizers should come first. A friend's fish tacos were very tough and a salad which came with the portobello mushroom sandwich was very wilted.
