Caffe Vialetto Ratings and Reviews
We have been going to Restaurant Vialetto for many years. More ir less 12 years. We have celebrate birthdays, anniversaries, bachelorette party and many other things. The two owners are very special people, Ernie and Marcelo. When they began they were young and full of energy. They put into the business all the energy and it has been successful. No to many restaurants in the area stay open as long as Cafe Vialetto has. Some former employees try with their own restaurants but I think never the same quality as Cafe Vialetto. Every time you enter everybody say hello and treat you as family. People of every age go to Cafe Vialetto. Wednesday was my birthday and I choose to go to Cafe Vialetto. There is a private room there and it was full of couples ranging in the eightys, they were so happy dinning and drinking wine. Marcelo himself went over the menu with all of them. Very nice gesture. That’s Marcelo.
Attended restaurant as part of the Miami Spice event. We were a group of 21. To ensure we could be accommodated, made the reservations a month before and also spoke to manager (Ernie). The Miami Spice Menu provided a decent variety of options - 3 appetizers, 3 Main Courses and 2 Desserts - at $39 pp. They sat us in a 'private room' and set the table up family style - i.e., one long table. We didn't fit. It was very tight seating. So, if you're going to have an event with this many people or more, suggest the table be set-up in a different manner. Maybe an L or U shape. The waiter assigned to us was a bit rude -- not sure if he was overwhelmed by the size of our party -- but he was not pleasant at all. If we would've had the option, the waiter would not have received the forced 18%. Seriously. The food was good, the room was great but that one (main) waiter... we could've done without.
We went to Cafe Vialetto on Saturday, 8/26/17, and ordered from their Miami Spice menu. I have participated in Miami Spice dining since its inception. This was the first time I experienced a Miami Spice menu with items not on the restaurant's regular menu. We started with appetizers: Duck Tacos & Polenta Meatball, both which were very tasty and cooked to perfection. For the main course, 2 of us ordered the Osso Bucco and one ordered Chicken Parmigana. The food was delicious, despite the portion sizes being quite petite. We were served a generous portion of pasta, however, the Osso Bucco was only about 3 ounces, at best. The Chicken Parmigana, like the Osso Bucco was a petite portion. We ordered the 2 featured desserts, Coconut Flan & Nutella Panacotta, and both were very good. Overall, the food and service were excellent, despite the portions sizes being quite small. I liked the fact that they provided both their regular & Miami Spice menus without having to ask, and also appreciated that when they provided us the bill, our very professional waiter let us know that the gratuity had been added. He was a class act.
This was our first experience at Cafe Vialettos and it did not disappoint! We chose the Miami Spice Menu and the courses were phenomenal. I tried the ravioli appetizer and the Chicken Parmesan main course with the risotto side. Absolutely wonderful!! The Best! Can't wait to return for other dishes from the regular menu! Bravo!
My wife and I really enjoyed the evening , with the excellent attentive service of the owner .
We had salmon that was offered that night and it was out of the park , the appetizer of potato croquettes was really different and tasty, to top it all the Guava cheese cake was excellent .
Was impressed by the number of great reviews. Sorry, I can't give it a great review. Tip was forced on us via an 18% surcharge. Seats were small and uncomfortable. Lighting needs updating as it looks like no decorator has been there in 30 years. Bread was simply awful, stodgy, heavy, like it wasn't prepared properly. Sushimi, Salmon was dinky in size. Linguini with clams was not good. I could go on but I will just say that the bill came to $124.00 and I ended up eating a proper dinner when I got home.
The waiter was extremely rude. The food was alright. We ordered some scallops as an appetizer and they were overcooked. I would not recommended this place to anyone. There are MUCH better restaurants in Miami. This place just isn't what it used to be. To top things off at the end of the night, he brought us the bill which included 18% gratuity...for a part of 2? No wonder he was so rude throughout our visit, his tip was guaranteed.
A great place we frequent and value highly... BUT... this time around one of my guests' dish was not properly cooked as ordered and waiter laughed, made jokes about it, and it took a strong reprimand on my part to get him to pay attention. After-dinner drinks showed up even though we didn't order or consume them, and we turned back desert which we hadn't ordered. These did not make up for the undercooking problem. FULL DISCLOSURE: my guest refused to return the dish MID-MEAL and only pointed to the uneaten portion at the end.
I visited Cafe Vialetto as an out of town guest having vacationed out of country with a friend. We had stop over flight in Miami with hours before our flight home. We found listing for Cafe Vialetto and decided to take a cab from airport to the restaurant to have lunch. Our meal was delicious so we decided to order dessert. While eating my tiramisu dessert I parted the cake with my fork a found a live fly on the plate which startled me. While eating there was no fly around us and the fly I found among the dessert did not fly away which led me to believe the fly somehow got into a section of the tiramisu. I alerted my waiter of the situation and was given a new slice of tiramisu and a very good dessert wine both of which I was not charged for. I want to recommend this restaurant because the food and service was very good, but because of my experience it is difficult to suggest to my friends.
Nice place. Super nice staff. I cannot recommend a specific plate since I have tried them all and everything is delicious. This is the first restaurant I have always picked to take a special friend for first time dinner invitation. Ernie, one of the owners, has never failed in making my guest feel pleased and willing to return.
