Caffe' Torino Foothills
Lovely patio seating with music that started right on time at 6:00. The portion of Mussels was large, fresh and very tasty. Our waiter made sure we had plenty of bread to soak up the delicious garlicky broth. Nice setting for wine and appetizer.
Excellent food, great service, will come back again and again.
The service was very poor. The food was over cooked. Although there were plenty of tables our group of six was seated right next to a party of 20. We were there for 2.5 hours... most of that time waiting.
Lovely Mother's Day brunch. Our party of 7 dined outside - lovely weather. Great food, excellent service. Definite recommend.
Our first visit to Caffe Torino was disappointing in some ways. We arrived on time and were seated immediately. Drinks and bread were quickly presented. We ordered our dinners...and started a long wait. It took 70 minutes from time of order to be served our entrees. The waiter was apologetic and even said that this has been an ongoing problem at this restaurant. Other tables we observed were also wondering what was going on.
After finally being served I have to say that my dinner was very good. My wife enjoyed her salmon salad. I'm not sure that I'd say it was worth the wait?
The waiter did comp us with a piece of tiramisu to go. I'd be reluctant to bring guests or recommend Caffe Torino knowing they could also run into this ongoing problem.
Food is always good but service lately has been poor - mostly due to staffing there are not enough waitstaff to cover the tables inside and outside
Beautiful sitting out under the stars with jazz music. Food and service were wonderful
Outstanding, as usual; our go to place on the Eastside. Favorites include Fetuccine alla panna con prosciutto cotto, funghi e piselli (ham, mushrooms, peas, parmesan cream sauce), the Tortellini with sausage (house made), and the Insalata Gorgonzola. All staff attentive and helpful. Wine list is more than adequate for a relaxed evening of good Italian comfort food!
Food is always good. Service fast and friendly. The best meat balls, risotto is delicious, Chicken Telligio to die for, fish perfectly cooked. The best restaurant in NW Tucson.
The service was inconsistent and very slow. Ended up with three servers throughout the evening. Our first server came to take our order and we didn’t even have menus. Our entrees came 2 minutes after we got our salads. Food is delicious but service was very off. Three different servers asked us about dessert—which we didn’t want. Took forever to get our check. Very odd.
I would recommend with the reservation that service is VERY slow.
Eggplant parmesan was excellent. I would have given Caffe Torino 5 stars if the background music was lower.
The food was excellent and enough for two meals for each of us.
But the waiter was really poor. Very inattentive, very poor attitude. He really put a damper on this restaurant getting a full 5 star rating
Fabulous food and service. Courtney is amazing!
The best Veal Marsala I have ever had; I will never order anything different here!
My sister and I had a truly wonderful meal At this restaurant three years ago and looked forward to being there again with our husbands. Did they change chefs??? The food was so disappointing. The pasta was pasty and tasteless . The red sauce had no subtlety. The Greens accompanying the appetizer were stale and limp. Only the fried artichokes lived up to expectations.
Excellent service, excellent food and excellent ambiance. I've been to Caffe Torino many times and have never been disappointed.
Our waiter was less than attentive. He might have been busy but he was never around when we needed him. I asked for the check and it took 20 minutes to get it.
Always a great place to go, one of our favorite places to take visitors for great Italian food.
Service was slow. Food was a bit off from normal. They were just off their game.
Outstanding food, excellent service, wonderful al fresco experience.
Really enjoyed this experience! All four of us ordered different items, and we were all quite pleased. Worth the extra drive from Marana.
Fabulous wine list and our server gave us an informed recommendation. The chef was also willing to make some small adjustments to menu items to meet our tastes. We had a lovely evening on the patio enjoying a delicious meal. Will definitely return!
The food was delicious. The service was good and it was nice to be able to have a conversation without shouting.
Very good food, not a huge menu but lots of tempting choices. Not a fancy restaurant but comfortable. The drinks, appetizers and salads were all delivered in a timely manner. However we had a fairly long wait for the main course. Is definitely come back again!
This was our second visit and the experience was not as good as the first visit. We had to wait for a table (despite having a reservation) and service was painfully slow (short-staffed again??). We had to ask for bread and water refills. Portions were seemingly smaller than the last visit as well, especially the appetizers. On the plus side, the taste of each dish was superb and the live jazz group was marvelous (if a bit loud). We will probably come back for another try and hope they are fully staffed.
This was our first visit to Caffe' Torino and we were very pleasantly surprised. We'd made a late reservation via Open Table and when we arrived, the hostess (Demi) greeted us and immediately apologized that our table wasn't quite ready. But after a very short wait she took us to a quiet (relatively) corner table. She even brought us our water right away and returned several times to refill our water and check to be sure all was going well for us. When our server (Derrick) arrived, he took wonderful care of us. We took him up on the two specials he suggested and found he'd hit the mark on both -- absolutely delicious. His wine suggestion was also spot on. All in all we had a thoroughly delightful evening with a relaxed pace and wonderful food -- we'll be back soon!
The food, Service & ambience were excellent. Many choices of delicious food.
We went to Caffe Torino for a couples dinner and it was a great evening. The menu had a lot of great choices and the calamari was a great started. The veal and fish were both excellent entrees and the service was attentive and friendly. We will return.
Was excited to try this restaurant but it was the worst experience I’ve encountered in many years. The host/manager sat us and my friend asked for coffee with non-dairy creamer to which he responded your server will be with you shortly, and as my friend headed to the restroom, the host turned back to me and said we don’t have non-dairy so he’ll have to have his coffee black or just use half-and-half. I explained that wasn’t an option as he had an allergy. So next door was a Whole Foods Market and when my friend returned, I simply walked over and bought a non-dairy creamer for $2 and returned to the table. When the waiter brought the coffee it was horribly tasting, burnt and luke warm. The waiter must have been overwhelmed, although it was not very busy, but after waiting a long time for the server to return and take out order - we through some cash down to cover the coffee and bread and headed for a much better restaurant. I would not recommend this place.
Great to have the music - should go to 9:30 rather than 9. Having the owner on site if very good
My wife and I were visiting the area and a friend recommended this place. We followed up on the recommendation and we were very pleased. We were visiting to plan out our move and once we live in town we will definitely be visiting this restaurant again.
Wonderful selection of Italian food...loved the tilapia, veal Marsala and seafood combo, salads and tiramisu..ate there twice over our 9 day stay in Tucson. Highly recommend for food and setting, and live jazz on Thur. and Sat. nights.
Our party of five people including two children had an excellent meal at Café Torino. The childrens' pasta. meatballs and Bolognese sauce was delicious and we got no complaints. Despite chicken parma not being on the menu, we requested this dish and a delicious version was delivered along with nice fresh vegetable mix. The stuffed chicken breast brought back visions of chicken kiev.
The restaurant was crowded and we had to wait over than one hour. Since the kids pasta dishes are usually available quickly, it would have helped if the childrens' food had been delivered asap- despite our request, we did not get the kids food early.
The only negative food complaint was the chef's need to add sliced red pepper to the otherwise delicious fresh veg combo-
Chicken Piccata not on menu, but waiter said it could be made. Worst I’ve ever had! Other 3 people in party disappointed in their dishes as well.
The veal marsala was among the best I've ever had. If our waiter had been more attentive, we would have ordered another glass of wine. Overall, an excellent choice in Tucson.
We arrived on time, they said they didn’t have a reservation for us. I came home and discovered that we did, in fact, have a confirmed reservation. I guess they oversold. We’re mad.
We did wait a very long time for our food, but the owner came over on his own and comped our entire meal. He cared more about us returning again than money which is top notch in my book. The shrimp and scallops with risotto was delicious!
This was our first time at Caffe' Torino. We entered to find the place crowded, which I love. It is a sign of good things to come! The music was great! The food was very good. My problem was with the handling of our meal. Our reservation was at 6:30. We were seated promptly. It was almost 7:45 when the main course was served. The problem was the order was wrong. This was obvious when we got our bill. It had the wrong item listed that was the one brought to our table. The waiter never acknowledged his error nor did he make any attempt to apologize for it. This would have been common courtesy. He grabbed the wrong pasta off the table and took it to the back. In a while my husband's chicken dish arrived- still not a word said by the waiter. Overall we had a good experience. We were just very perplexed by the waiter and his actions.
Really disappointing - usually a go to place when we come in town to visit friends but with gem show going on service was very off and entrees came out microwaved - only thing was hot was the plate - food had been over cooked my lasagna was burnt and my wife's pasta overdone
