Caffe' Torino Foothills
The food, Service & ambience were excellent. Many choices of delicious food.
We went to Caffe Torino for a couples dinner and it was a great evening. The menu had a lot of great choices and the calamari was a great started. The veal and fish were both excellent entrees and the service was attentive and friendly. We will return.
Was excited to try this restaurant but it was the worst experience I’ve encountered in many years. The host/manager sat us and my friend asked for coffee with non-dairy creamer to which he responded your server will be with you shortly, and as my friend headed to the restroom, the host turned back to me and said we don’t have non-dairy so he’ll have to have his coffee black or just use half-and-half. I explained that wasn’t an option as he had an allergy. So next door was a Whole Foods Market and when my friend returned, I simply walked over and bought a non-dairy creamer for $2 and returned to the table. When the waiter brought the coffee it was horribly tasting, burnt and luke warm. The waiter must have been overwhelmed, although it was not very busy, but after waiting a long time for the server to return and take out order - we through some cash down to cover the coffee and bread and headed for a much better restaurant. I would not recommend this place.
Great to have the music - should go to 9:30 rather than 9. Having the owner on site if very good
My wife and I were visiting the area and a friend recommended this place. We followed up on the recommendation and we were very pleased. We were visiting to plan out our move and once we live in town we will definitely be visiting this restaurant again.
Wonderful selection of Italian food...loved the tilapia, veal Marsala and seafood combo, salads and tiramisu..ate there twice over our 9 day stay in Tucson. Highly recommend for food and setting, and live jazz on Thur. and Sat. nights.
Our party of five people including two children had an excellent meal at Café Torino. The childrens' pasta. meatballs and Bolognese sauce was delicious and we got no complaints. Despite chicken parma not being on the menu, we requested this dish and a delicious version was delivered along with nice fresh vegetable mix. The stuffed chicken breast brought back visions of chicken kiev.
The restaurant was crowded and we had to wait over than one hour. Since the kids pasta dishes are usually available quickly, it would have helped if the childrens' food had been delivered asap- despite our request, we did not get the kids food early.
The only negative food complaint was the chef's need to add sliced red pepper to the otherwise delicious fresh veg combo-
Chicken Piccata not on menu, but waiter said it could be made. Worst I’ve ever had! Other 3 people in party disappointed in their dishes as well.
The veal marsala was among the best I've ever had. If our waiter had been more attentive, we would have ordered another glass of wine. Overall, an excellent choice in Tucson.
We arrived on time, they said they didn’t have a reservation for us. I came home and discovered that we did, in fact, have a confirmed reservation. I guess they oversold. We’re mad.
We did wait a very long time for our food, but the owner came over on his own and comped our entire meal. He cared more about us returning again than money which is top notch in my book. The shrimp and scallops with risotto was delicious!
This was our first time at Caffe' Torino. We entered to find the place crowded, which I love. It is a sign of good things to come! The music was great! The food was very good. My problem was with the handling of our meal. Our reservation was at 6:30. We were seated promptly. It was almost 7:45 when the main course was served. The problem was the order was wrong. This was obvious when we got our bill. It had the wrong item listed that was the one brought to our table. The waiter never acknowledged his error nor did he make any attempt to apologize for it. This would have been common courtesy. He grabbed the wrong pasta off the table and took it to the back. In a while my husband's chicken dish arrived- still not a word said by the waiter. Overall we had a good experience. We were just very perplexed by the waiter and his actions.
Really disappointing - usually a go to place when we come in town to visit friends but with gem show going on service was very off and entrees came out microwaved - only thing was hot was the plate - food had been over cooked my lasagna was burnt and my wife's pasta overdone
Had to wait a long time for the food. Almost 1 1/2 hours but food and service excellant
All was excellent...although dinner took a long time, our waiter explained one of the cooks had cut his hand and had to go get stitched up. Waiter also checked on us a lot. Was a great evening.
Food was excellent, but it take an
Everything was good except we waited too long.
Our experience at Caffe Torino was great! It was Valentine's day so it was predictably busy. As a result it took a while for our food to get to us but our bartender (whose name I unfortunately don't remember) was very sweet and took 50% off our bottle of wine and gave us a free appetizer. So it was worth the hour+ wait. The entrees, wine, and appetizer were all delicious and I can't wait to come back!
It was Valentines Day but our arrival at 6:45 p.m. and dinner served to us at 8:40ish was inexcusable. We had ordered shortly after arriving. Enjoyed our time as a group while waiting and the food was worth the wait! Kitchen was the issue.
The fettucini alfredo is the best in town. Ditto for the veal marsala and the wine list !! Despite the crush of Valentine's Day they did us proud.
Noise from behind the bar was excessive. Once we requested the bartender not throw empty bottles into the trash with other bottles - he obliged. Some of our guests had hearing aids and the “clink” of the bottles caused a great deal of discomfort. Derick, our waiter, was quite attentive despite it being an exceptionally busy night (Valentine’s Day). Our party of six enjoyed their food selections very much. Derick was spot on with his wine recommendations.
Excellent meals and service, especially considering it was Valentine’s Day and very busy. Still one of my favorites.
best genuine italian red sauce in tuson, so many of its dishes are superior.
The food and service were very good! The music was too loud to talk but they were very nice and turned the sound down for us. We were a group of 5.
One of our favorite restaurants with a great varied menu & nightly specials. We primarily attend jazz night with the entertaining Tony Frank.
Have eaten at Café Torino many times and the food and service is always very very good. It was not busy on Thursday yet it took a fair amount of time to get our dinner. Instead of being in and out in a hour, we finished after approx. a hour and 45 minutes. Seemed a bit lengthy for a slow night. Perhaps just a fluke. But as always, the food was excellent.
We had a very nice experience. Everyone really like their food. The service was a bit slow.
Did not have scallops until 6pm. Required half the group make a second choice for meal.
This great Italian restaurant always has a wide variety of choices and the specialties are usually my first choice! During nice weather there is lovely outdoor seating and often a small trio band to enjoy dining by. The real reason to come to Caffe Torino is the delicious food! I enjoy seafood the most and they always have an excellent selection. The sea bass is one of my favorites!
We really like this restaurant, the servers , the ambience, the food, etc. But the lat few times we have been here we have had very long wait times for our food. This last time we waited almost 1.5 hours!
Felt comfortable immediately upon entering. Service was outstanding. Complimentary bread was warm and tasty. Food was great; we had a chicken dish and veal parmesan and both were delicious. We shared a creme brûlée for dessert; the custard was good but it lacked a crackable top. We would definitely return.
FABULOUS wine list! DELICIOUS food and it's value priced! The wait-staff is very helpful in picking the wine based on what you may already like! This is now a go-to spot for me!
This place never disappoints. Consistently great!
Attended the jazz festival had a wonderful time weather was perfect Cafe Torino was wonderful!
Food was excellent -- truly exceptional. Shrimp appetizer, for example: fabulous flavors, fresh, delightfully chewy and flavorful shrimp. Seafood on linguine as entree was just terrific; as good or better than a very highly rated, expensive Foothills restaurant, which is a high compliment given that restaurant-with-a-view's reputation. Service was very pleasant, although there were significant waiting periods between orders and delivery of food, for which the waiter apologized....not sure if it was the crowds (it was a weekend night and the place was full) or slowness in the kitchen. Live music was pleasant, not overpowering sound as it has been on an earlier visit. The owner/manager circulated and was attentive to our commentary. Overall a lovely experience, and we shall return.
Owner on site
Service great. Food very good. Menu on line did not reflect restaurant menu. Was very happy with our experience.
Outstanding food, service and entertainment. What an amazing find during our vacation!
One of our favorites and place to dine when we’re craving Italian. Great Northern Italian bill of fare concentrating on solid standards and a few new creations. Good for dinner for two or small groups (4-6).
One of the absolute best Italian restaurants in Tucson.
