I was a first time guest along with my partner and it was a great cool first time experience. A quite place, service was professional, yet they were nice and personable.
Louis was great and everyone loved their dish! Seafood risotto and salmon were EXCELLENT!!
I've alwasy seen Cafe Sienna on Open Table but I'm a creature of habit and generally stick to my faves. But, I was treating the boyfriend for dinner and a show that night and wanted to try something new. Didn't hurt that Cafe Sienna had a 1000 point dinner time to seal the deal. Upon arrival, we were the first customers of the evening. I was thinking, uh-oh... it's 6:30 and there aren't any other diners?!? This can't be good.
Well, I'm happy to say that we both had a really great dinner and I was pleasantly suprised w/ the value of my meal. I ordered the seafood lobster risotto. I don't like muscles so they accommodated my request to switch out the muscles for additional shrimp and/or scallops. Generally when one orders a shrimp or scallop dinner, the meal leaves you hungry and wanting more due to the minimal seafood in the dish... this dish did NOT disappoint. Plenty of shrimp and scallops and JUMBO size. I can generally put away some food but I had to take half of it home and had the rest for lunch the next day. What's even better, it didn't have a fishy taste reheated next day!
I already told the BF we will come back! Thank you!
First time going, the food was ok but could’ve used more seasoning.
We will try it again.
VERY NICE PLACE TO EAT. THE SERVICE WAS GREAT, FOOD GOOD AND PEOPLE VERY FRIENDLY.
WOULD GO BACK AGAIN.
Excellent service. Wonderful atmosphere. My Chicken Marsala was just ok. The other members of our party loved their dishes including the seafood risotto.
The staff was very attentive and kept up with our wishes.
Food was outstanding, even for our vegetarian guest. Highly recommended and we will return when in town!
Early Sunday evening meal before theatre performance. Interesting menu, attentive service. Focaccia served with curried squash soup, both very good. Flatbread with short rib, Gorgonzola and arugula was listed as appetizer. Proved to be large enough for entree. Also very good.
Being that it's on the ground floor of the Holiday Inn you might suspect that it's not a great dining option. Wrong! We've been there quite a bit over the years and I've never had a disappointing meal. We returned last Saturday and I had the Moroccan Salmon and it was one of the best salmon preparations I've ever had. Our server was fantastic and the prices are extremely reasonable.
we waited for service, the chicken dish we ordered said bone-in breast it look like a miniature chicken is a tiny piece along with tons of spinach on the top..did not taste very good. The waiter never checked on us. And the place did not appear to be very busy I would not recommend this restaurant
We're a long time married couple in our 70s, and we're major fans of Cafe Siena. We come here every year for New Year's Eve, and when we're going to the Blumenthal Center in downtown Charlotte for one of their cultural events. But I've also gone with much younger friends, sat at the bar and talked for hours. The staff is very friendly, easy to work with and knowledgable; we definitely pay a lot of attention to their food recommendations. The food is really good, ranging from classic to creative. We can't say anything about lunch because we don't go to that area except in the evenings. This is definitely a great place.
Valentines dinner, the steak was to die for
We were a large group and had a lovely experience. The service wad top notch and the food exceeded our expectations.
Apparently there was a fixed menu and we were not informed bc our server never came to our table so we left after 15 mins, very disappointed.
The food was extremely average for the price we paid. I went to dinner with three friends and tried a bit of everyone's dish and I was not impressed. The service was also average at best. Within thirty seconds of us sitting down, we were asked if we were ready to order, without asking what we wanted to drink. On the plus side, the drinks, though expensive, were delicious.
I went with a friend for Restaurant Week 2018 and it was delicious, great value and welcoming environment.
Excellent in all ways. Recommend the braised lamb shanks!
Despite the restaurant being empty on a Sunday when The Phantom of the Opera was on a block away, the service was tremendously slow. The waiters was not able to serve two coffees at the same time. My three eggs breakfast came with two eggs only. But I was lucky. My friend ordered shrimp and grits, which came in a very deep place. My grits was actually good, but hers had to be eaten with a spoon, because it was so watered down by a broth consistency dark sauce. She left everything on the plate. In any other place, they would've not charged for her meal.
I am never coming back, and already told my friends to stay away from this place
Went for Queens Feast. Great meal at a great value. Wasn't sure about eating at a restaurant associated with a hotel, but we were pleasantly surprised.
Excellent food and superior service near downtown and with parking in the holiday inn that can be validated
The overall quality of our experience was very good. We give high marks to our server Luis. He was knowledgeable about the menu and very attentive. The food was surprisingly good. Our table had the Morroccan Salmon, the Chicken Piccata and the Pasta Bowl. Each were ample, served attractively and warm. The focaccia is worth the visit. The wine list is limited, although we found a good Washington State Pinot Noir. It is noisy and like everyplace has TVs everywhere. Even so, we plan to return.
While our waitress was VERY sweet and VERY nice, we did not get the best service. We booked this reservation for their NYE dinner menu and at the time, we didn’t realize it was the restaurant connected to the Holiday Inn. The food was good and it was a good deal. Overall, they did a good job.
Ambience was cold, food not impressive for what we paid. No drinks included, dessert was suck.....
I have seen this place’s name around and thought I would give it a try for my birthday. Overall it was ok, nothing great. Should have thought a little more about it when it was located in the Holiday Inn Uptown.
Great food & outstanding service! Wide variety of menu options. Definitely a good value.
Good dining experience. Close to Belk theater. Good for a dinner with the family. Great food and excellent service. Have to try the cheese plate for an appetizer.
Good food in a location very close to the arena. Excellent location for dining prior to a show.
Top notch all around. Food and service outstanding.
Symphony tickets to Charlotte Symphony
Our Lily was exceptional. Wonderful service from the bar and I believe the other young lady was a team lead. Was exceptional as well. Food and drinks marvelous.
This has become my new favorite place! The food is amazing and the atmosphere is suitable for a date or a night out with friends!
The server was great but the food was terrible. I feel like I got a work out just trying to cut my steak- which I ordered medium rare and came cooked medium and chewy. I am not the only one who shares the sentiment- others felt disappointed as well . I saw the reviews and was excited to eat here and by the end of the meal I wished I had chosen another place to eat. I feel like this is a place for tourists to eat. Not really special. Food isn't worth the price but you're paying for the location. Wouldn't come back if my life depended on it.
Very nice. Good wine, food and moderately priced.
Luis, our waiter was excellent and the food was outstanding as well as the cocktails. Highly recommend
I was not at all impressed. My salmon had to large bones in it and no one seemed to care. When I found them, I stopped eating it. The manager came by to ask how everything was and I told him about the bones. His response was "Well that happens sometimes. Enjoy your dinner." When I told the server, she said she'd tell the cook. They didn't offer anything to make it better; they just didn't care. It would have been nice if they comped my dinner, offered dessert or paid for my one glass of wine. My husband had steak and he was not at all impressed either. It was our first time there and it was to celebrate my birthday. We will not be back!!!!
Was delighted to have an excellent meal for all four of us. The service was exceptional and the bonus of parking made a perfect evening in downtown Charlotte!
Stopped for breakfast and didn't realize it was attached to the hotel. Regular hotel food which is never that great.
Horrible service, waitress came over once and then we had to have the hostess bring our appetizer and drinks. The waitress never came back to get our dinner order. The appetizer was actually good so we were very disappointed that we never got to eat dinner but could not stay after such poor service.
We made a reservation at Cafe Siena to eat before seeing Ed Sheeran at the Spectrum center. Parking was quick and easy (6th and college) service was quick and the drink menu was awesome. We were just a few blocks away from the venue, so it made the trip easy
Overall had a good experience. Our server was attentive and very nice. Our food was good overall but one item on my plate was dry and not too flavorful. I had the lamb dish. The lamb was very good.
