Caffe Siena Ratings and Reviews
The server was great but the food was terrible. I feel like I got a work out just trying to cut my steak- which I ordered medium rare and came cooked medium and chewy. I am not the only one who shares the sentiment- others felt disappointed as well . I saw the reviews and was excited to eat here and by the end of the meal I wished I had chosen another place to eat. I feel like this is a place for tourists to eat. Not really special. Food isn't worth the price but you're paying for the location. Wouldn't come back if my life depended on it.
I was not at all impressed. My salmon had to large bones in it and no one seemed to care. When I found them, I stopped eating it. The manager came by to ask how everything was and I told him about the bones. His response was "Well that happens sometimes. Enjoy your dinner." When I told the server, she said she'd tell the cook. They didn't offer anything to make it better; they just didn't care. It would have been nice if they comped my dinner, offered dessert or paid for my one glass of wine. My husband had steak and he was not at all impressed either. It was our first time there and it was to celebrate my birthday. We will not be back!!!!
Horrible service, waitress came over once and then we had to have the hostess bring our appetizer and drinks. The waitress never came back to get our dinner order. The appetizer was actually good so we were very disappointed that we never got to eat dinner but could not stay after such poor service.
We made a reservation at Cafe Siena to eat before seeing Ed Sheeran at the Spectrum center. Parking was quick and easy (6th and college) service was quick and the drink menu was awesome. We were just a few blocks away from the venue, so it made the trip easy
Servers were pleasant, but inattentive and the food was not as advertised. The chicken wings that we ordered just because we were very hungry when we got there took forever (over 20 minutes) and they were the best menu item.
We took my mother to Caffe Siena for Mother's Day. We were seated in front of the kitchen door. There were other open tables and I wish I had asked to be moved as it was distracting to have the swinging door of the kitchen constantly opening and closing. The main course was very good, but took a long time to be served. The crème brulee was not really what we would consider to be crème brulee. It consisted of more mixed berries than custard and the consistency of the dessert was grainy instead of the traditional smooth feel.
We didn't have a good experience. The hostess was rude when we asked if we could have a table away from the service area she felt the need to correct us. It took another 20 mins and warm mimosas before we were seated on the small patio. My mother's meal came our cold. My brothers meal was missing bacon. Mine was decent just soupy shrimp and polenta. We told our server Jolene who was very gracious and apologetic and ended up comping our meal per her manager which was appreciated. All in all though I wouldn't go back.
Enjoyed Mother's Day Brunch here! We were seated in a small private dining room with not much atmosphere and no window, but the server was awesome and made it a pleasant experience. The food was great (as were the bloody mary's) especially the prices which were very reasonable, particularly because this was a special menu. Made the reservations last minute ... overall very happy with our experience for celebrating Mother's Day!
Cafe Siena was perfect for our prom dinner! There was barely anyone there, which allowed for some great conversation due to a lack of noise and the service was exceptional. Although the service and the ambiance were good, the food was by far the best as I can honestly say I had the best steak I've ever eaten there. Thank you Cafe Siena!
We got there early for our reservation and sat at the bar. The bartender (Amy) was very attentive, and did a great job keeping up, as the bar was quite busy. She mixed up a couple of good cocktails and was very pleasant.
Once we sat for our food, our server was just OK. She got us our food and drinks in a reasonably timely manner, but didn't check in on the food quality after we had received our meals. The food was quite tasty and the portions were good.
I got a burger and my wife got seafood risotto. Both were well prepared. The burger was good to temp (medium well) and the seafood was all cooked well.
Overall it was a very good experience and I would recommend Caffe Siena.
Our waiter was very friendly and efficient making sure our dinner was delivered to meet a theater time. The food was disappoiting. Mussels not real fresh and broth watery. Salmon was prepared rare as requested but it was also not real fresh. The filet was ordered medium rare and served medium. Sides were very good as was the cheese cake.
We have been to the Cafe Siena many times. We have arranged a dinner after an afternoon event downtown for a group of 20. . It is VERY convenient to many venues and their private room can seat around 20 people. The food is outstanding and prices within the realm of a fine dining restaurant. I would encourage you to try this conveniently located restaurant for your next trip uptown.
This was a post-theatre dinner for us. The service was great, but then we were the only four people there for dinner which we found a bit odd. Everyone loved their dinner selections and drinks. I had a cup of the Butternut Squash soup and really enjoyed it. However, on the way home I began to have terrible stomach pains that lasted until the next morning. Rarely does eating anything bother me, but that certainly did. I think it was the soup because that was the only thing I had that was totally different from the rest of the party. We would eat there again if the situation warranted it.
Great scallops which my husband actually had to go to the kitchen & complement the chef. We enjoyed the Valentine special & the braised kale with scallop appetizer really was a winner! First time & we'll be back as so convenient to the Belk Theater which we frequent.
We went for restaurant week. We were sorely disappointed - no where on the website did they state that this is the restaurant in the Holiday Inn. Service was good, food - mediocre. Definitely got ripped off at $35 pp. Would not go back and do not recommend.
Food was alright, nothing impressive about any of the entrees really. The dessert really shined (I had the creme brulee), the mussels were also remarkable, and the sauce they came in was delicious. Overall, I likely won't be going back but if I do I'll probably just order the mussels, a glass of wine and dessert.
My wife and I took advantage of queens feast week to visit café sienna for the first time. The food was delicious My wife had the steak with mushrooms and Demi glass sauce and I had the seafood risotto that was chock-full of seafood and very tasty. The service was excellent and we had a wonderful time and will definitely come back.
Had a great meal at Caffe Siena during Charlotte's Queen's Feast. Everyone enjoyed their meal and I would go back again. I had the seafood risotto which was full of seafood and delicious. It's located inside the Holiday Inn, but for a hotel restaurant, it's really great. Overall a good experience!
I went on Restaurant Week an didn't like that they didn't have the full menu.
For 35$ The caesar salad tasted good but was really tiny. I had the Chicken Marsala. The tiny 4oz chicken still had the skin and bone. There was one sliver of mushroom and the sauce was bland. For dessert the Tiramisu was
about 1-1/2 X 1-1/2 inches. If it wasn't for the ambiance I would of thought I was eating in a cafeteria.
