It was great. Staff was extremely accommodating and changed my table to a more quiet location.
Food was great as was the service.
Service was terrific. So were the ahi tartare small plate and the oatmeal coconut cookie + sea salt caramel gelato dessert. Otherwise, Cafe Niche is tired and unfortunately not keeping up with its siblings in the Lasalle Restaurant Group (Current, Stanza, Kyoto). The explanation that the subpar lamb entree was from a menu developed by a different chef and was being removed in the next rotation was odd. As was the chef not stopping by to deliver the message herself even tho it was a very slow Saturday evening with 10+ empty tables. I'm hoping this is all a temporary hiccup and Cafe Niche will rejoin its siblings in quality.
We've been coming to Cafe Niche for quite some time now and still love the atmosphere and service. The food is wonderful.
Great food. Both the mahi mahi and the salmon were excellent. The cherry cheesecake was the best I have had.
Excellent staff and service with the best pear cocktail I've ever had.
Niche is a great neighborhood café with a creative menu and excellent service. We appreciated the stainless steel straws, fresh food, and attentive server who allowed us to linger. Small parking lot plus street parking. Our only complaint was that the noise level was too loud to allow a normal conversation, partly because it was crowded, but partly because the music is too loud, with speakers overhead.
I've been there before, and will go back. One of my favorite places. Food was great, service was excellent, ambiance was pleasant. Background music was a bit loud.
I always bring out of town guests to cafe Niche, and they never fail to impress.
Love this place! Great menu and service. I go for brunch and lunch.
Food was fantastic as well as the waiter, GREAT place just outside of downtown. Don’t miss this gem.
Reserved a table for an 8:00 AM business meeting. The table was ready upon arrival; the staff was accommodating; and the noise level was conducive to a business meeting. The food was well prepared / presented and the prices were reasonable. If I'm ever in SLC again, I'd dine there and will recommend it to others.
Loved it! Thanks
Best quinoa salad ever!
Lamb meatballs with taziki sauce
Food was outstanding. The restaurant was uncomfortably hot all evening and the service was subpar at best.
I’ve visited Cafe Niche before for lunch and found I loved their Thai Salad and their Bleu Cheese wedge. This time we tried their dinner entrees. My Mahi dish was way over cooked. My daughters Lamb dish was not appetizing . My other daughter loved the special which was a braised beef in a pepper . Dessert was s’more pot d creme and was yummy ! Server was great . Didn’t love my entree ..
I will go back for salad
Everything start to finish was excellent! The hostess was professional and polite. The server was attentive. The food was delicious!!! We had shaved Brussels sprouts and warm quinoa salad to start and both were flavorful and seasoned perfectly and then I had the wagyu steak tenderloin medallions. They were perfectly medium rare and the plated accompaniments were all thoughtfully chosen and prepared: grilled asparagus, smashed potatoes with blue cheese, and a delicious mushroom sauce. My husband ordered the pretzel chicken and it was also wonderful! The chicken was moist and flavorful and the
Companion mustard sauce with spinach greens and potatoes was also excellent!
But the high point for us was Kale, who we presume was either the manager or the owner. He made sever visits to our table to check how we were doing and refresh drinks, etc, And at the end of the meal he brought us a complimentary dessert because he said he appreciated that we were kind to the hostess (after we witnessed other costumers treating her rudely). I thought that was so lovely of him! And the chocolate pot de creme that he brought was rich and silky! Overall...it was a perfect evening!
Fantastic food in a comfortable but lovely atmosphere. The service was wonderful. I can’t wait to go again!
The food was good. It is very noisy, and we did not request seating on the lower level, which we would do next time.
It was crowded, so service was a little slow.
The manager seemed to feel that we were privileged to be there.
Food was excellent. Ambiance was perfect.
We were there to cheer a friend up. The young man who waited on us was so patient! My friend called dinner a “Princess Meal”. You never disappoint!
I always love the Morgan Valley Lamb dish - it is delicious! My favorite. We came to celebrate my friend's birthday and started talking and talking and didn't realize the time. However, there was another table w/people enjoying their chat, so we were kind of waiting for them to leave - how did we know they were doing the same thing?? Anyway, we overstayed passed closing, and the staff didn't make us feel rushed, or didn't act annoyed with us. We really appreciate that. What a great, courteous staff!! Thank you.
It was a lovely lunch with a friend. The only issue was the waiter was quite busy and had trouble getting his attention a couple times. Not really his fault. It got busy and he had many tables. Other staff standing around could have assisted but it was not critical.
Every time we have gone there the food and service is excellent! They have a great wine/cocktail selection and the appetizers and meal have never disappointed. The service is top-notch!
Good food, nice atmosphere
The food & service were adequate. Nothing spectacular. Have no reason to refer.
Mothers day brunch
For the food, but I would that they need to bring lots of patience and lower their expectations about being served in a consistent manner.
My salad is as excellent, a blue cheese salad, my entree was pretzel crusted chicken it was very good, but not excellent. The atmosphere was also excellent although the parking area is tiny. Over all I enjoyed my experience and would recommend to a friend but with so many choices in Salt Lake I wouldn’t eat there again unless I was already in the area, and I would get a salad
The food was attractively presented and the taste did not disappoint. Appetizers of shrimp and grits, artichoke and Brussel sprouts were excellent. Thai salad—the wagyu beef was amazingly tender and tasty. Service was perfect. Go there—you won’t be disappointed!
Very nice place for breakfast or brunch. Hope that the eggs, bacon will be organic and hormone/antibiotic free? This is not advertised. Also hope that salads will be organic?
Casual place, good menu.
Everything was fantastic!
I went here with my family for Easter brunch. They accommodated our big group really well. They had us sat within 5 minutes of us all showing up and it was comfortable. They had the buffet option for the special day. It was amazing. Everything was fresh and delicious.
I'm not sure whether or not I would recommend. So let me start by saying, I do love Caffe Niche. However. I do not love it for a set buffet. We did the Easter brunch and it was a total waste of money. $35/person and we got small snacks. They did have a thing of scrambled eggs, but for $35, I expect a LOT more food. Super disappointed and left feeling like I had been robbed of money! Try them for a normal sunday brunch! and pass for the holidays where they have a buffet.
It could be such a great place but the food was
One of our favorite places! We can always count on an excellent meal and a quiet conversation.
Great food and service!
Waitress was so rude.....she spilled hot scalding coffee on one of the ladies .... Didn't even say sorry.
Coffee cake to die for. Niche breakfast the best in SLC. Niche is a terrific neighborhood restaurant.
Excellent meal and very nice atmosphere, I recommend.
We enjoyed a chance to enjoy each other’s company and the delicious food. We could hear each other!
I had the special shrimp and avocado goddess salad, recommended by our server. Delicious! He also recommended a good wine.
