For true Italian cuisine in the heart of Little Italy, New York City, stop in to Caffe Napoli. Outdoor seating offers a place to relax and people watch while enjoying a satisfying entrée, glass of Italian wine or a sweet dessert. For those nights when dining in isn’t an option, utilize Caffe Napoli’s convenient takeout service. With its full bar and casual atmosphere, this restaurant is a gathering place to socialize and meet new people.
Start with a beet salad or one of the multiple appetizers available, many of which are designed to be shared with the table. Entrée options include many classics like mushroom ravioli, gnocchi with pesto, tortellini Bolognese and calamari. The chicken masala is also a bit hit with regulars. For dessert, indulge in authentic tiramisu or cannoli while sipping on a fresh cup of coffee.
Pictures of the interior are very deceiving. Place is super tiny.
We had the calamari for appetizer and they also provided garlic bread as we waited for it. Both were delicious.
My friend had the Cannelloni. She said it was pretty salty but tasted good. I had the Chicken Milanese - probably my new favorite Italian dish. Normally this dish only comes with arugula in the salad - they actually made it a house salad so you’ll have different types of leafy greens in it along with some arugula (but not much). I wasn’t a fan. It definitely took away from it.
We had the Sangiovese bottle of wine. The original we ordered was unavailable but the waiter recommended a different one that was only $28. That was a great value.
We didn’t have dessert, with Ferrara’s just up the block and with my friend having recently moved to NYC from California, I just had to take her.
Would I go again? Probably not. With so many other Italian restaurants in the area I would probably branch out. It’s good, but nothing really to write home about.
Decor definitely needs sprucing up. I get keeping the 40 year old vibes but I didn’t even get that when I walked in. Tables are also very close together so unless you’re really quiet the table next to you can hear everything you say and vice versa.
They could not have been any nicer. Food was so yummy.
I had the beet salad, the filet of sole with rigatoni, and the tartufo for dessert. Everything was fresh and tasty and the service was wonderful. A terrific spot for people-watching in Little Italy.
The best pizza we’ve tasted in along time. Great atmosphere and Great value for money.
We were in New York and had been there before. Food was mediocre at best and way to much which was not explained to us. Service was good. There seemed to always be a line to the restroom which was right next to our table.
The food wasn’t great at all. And extremely overpriced.
Service was abrupt and direct. Drinks weren't delivered until after food arrived. No recommendations or friendliness. Food was mediocre.
Except for the location on Mulberry St., in Little Italy, it's nothing special. Maybe I'm spoiled living in NYC.
Been there many times for lunch and loved it. In comparison, dinner was a little disappointing. Very different vibe from the servers. Seemed to just want you to hurry up and go away!
High school graduation for daughter
This is my third trip to NYC and also to Caffe Napoli. The service was amazing as was the food. We went for a friend's 40th birthday and the staff sang Happy Birthday while bringing out a tiramisu for her, on the house. Authentic food, great atmosphere...I will be back!
The bread and olive oil was delicious and a great start to our meal. The chicken piccata and chicken francaise were both fantastic!
This instantly became my favorite place in NYC. The hospitality was unmatched and the food was out of this world! They truly do treat you like family here. They have a variety of specials that they describe to you in a way that will make you salivate. My entire party enjoy their dishes 11/10! I will certainly be back SOON.
Birthday dinner for my friend!
Food, drinks, and service were all excellent. Very friendly people. Definitely recommend.
My all time favorite Italian! Great every time. I recommend to all of my friends
We made a very last minute late reservation and when we walked in we were catered to from the very moment we were outside walking past it. They knew who we were, wished me a Happy Birthday, and promptly took our order. The service was amazing and so specialized. I felt like I was important. The food was the best Italian food I’ve ever had, and when it came to dessert i was so full but I couldn’t stop eating the tiramisu. The whole restaurant, all the staff included sang happy birthday and I’ve never felt so special. Thank you for an amazing end to an amazing birthday weekend.
I hosted my holiday dinner here and it was perfect. Great food and great service :)
Service was great and the food was super. All four of us loved their dish.
Holiday season magic. This us our "go to" place for a festive holiday season dinner. Beautiful setting in Little Italy and the food never disappoints. We like the quieter north dining room
Wonder atmosphere and the staff really made you feel at home. Excellent meal with great attention to prep and presentation. Great experience and can’t wait to return.
Amazing service, quick but didn't feel rushed. Great atmosphere!
That fettuccine Alfredo was delectable! Like I wanted to go back again before my vacation was over. But unfortunately the storm interrupted our trip and we ran out of time. I would definitely go back if I make it back to NY for another vacation. The only downside was the size of the plate. I wanted a second plate but had to leave room for cheesecake. Was happy with the experience.
Parents were in town to visit & decided to take them here- it was definitely the right choice! From the second we sat down until we finished dessert, we had a great dining experience!
Excellent from the maitre de to the service and food. Felt like we were in Naples Italy. Grazie!
Entire restaurant is open to the streets, which are closed off from vehicles. There are people walking and singing down the streets of Little Italy. They have gluten free penne which can be substituted for most pasta dishes. The food tastes great.
I specifically seek out recommended places every time i come to Little Italy when In NYC. The food was good here and would recommend. HOWEVER, be mindful of the drinks. If you get soda or tea or anything NOT water they will charge every time you get a refill. Every place i have been to does not do this. I did not see it on menu nor was i told by waiter at beginning of, or each time a refill was asked for. Keep this in mind when ordering or choosing locations.
This place was FABULOUS! The food was amazing, the service was amazing, and the atmosphere was THE BEST! Louis was great!!
We had a fabulous time. Our party of 14 were treated so good by our wonderful waiter. The food was fabulous and service impeccable. We go every year when we are in New York. Wouldn’t miss the opportunity to dine here. Friendly and family oriented.
We have been going to Café Napoli for over 20 years and have never been disappointed. Always the best food, atmosphere, and service. The food is amazing, but save room for dessert! We sat inside because it was a bit chilly, but on a nice day the outdoor seating is the best - great people watching and a wonderful atmosphere. So glad this is one place in Little Italy we can always count on :)
Celebrating Mother’s Day. Below average food and high prices
Might be because we are in NYC. Will not go back and certainly don’t recommend it
Wonderful team assisting ever need to enjoy your meal! ✅
Fantastic freshly made Italian food. Worth every penny, and an atmosphere that can't be missed. With doors opening up into Little Italy, the tableau of NUC street life really brings the whole experience together.
I make it a point to come here anytime I am in NYC and I am never disappointed.
Plus, Cafe Napoli is just around the corner from the Ferrara Bakery!
We let these folks know this was our pre-wedding bash. The service was spotty, the food was so-so. Pick somewhere else.
one of my favorite places to eat never disappointed ......love this place!
Nothing special about this place. Tried it because we had not been before. Most of our group enjoyed their meals (menu specials were best), but nothing was extraordinary. Saturday evenings are busy and a bit noisy... and the room is tight. Overall, not bad. But with some many other options available, not in a rush to go back.
The food was not too good, the ambiente hectic.
The cola consistet of more ice than cola.
The gratuity was already included with 18%.
I have been going here for 9 years! I love everything.
Generous portions of house wine in carafes.
They don't go skimpy with their dipping/sauces/portions.
Good pasta (I had the mushroom ravioli and it was good, but something you could buy at a top-end store).
Offered us glass of sangria to try it - it's pretty good but we went with the house wine by the carafe (filled to the brim).
Feels exactly like a friendly neighborhood gem.
You may want better ambience for special occasions.
The food and the service was excellent, I would highly recommend having dinner here.
