Caffe Molise Ratings and Reviews
We celebrated my birthday with friends on Saturday evening - it was the first time for our friends dining at Caffé Molise and they loved it! Our servers were very attentive the entire evening. As expected the food was delicious. My favorite appetizers are the Polenta con Salsiccia (“sausage”) and the Bruschetta Misto. Try the Arista dish - it’s amazingly wonderful! I also like the Orecchiette Pasta with Salsiccia.
Tiramisu is a perfect dessert as well!
I enjoyed a great meal at Cafe Molise with colleagues. Two of us had the special of stuffed salmon with asparagus and it was delightful. Another had the special of scallops and he found them very good as well. Matthew was an excellent server and the rest of the staff pitched in to round out the excellent service that we experienced. Excellent meal and a good find.
Today In most restaurants they want to rush you out and it is annoying when they bring out the entree's even before you have finished your salad or appetizer. Our waiter, Trevor, was fantastic.!! He made sure that the appetizer, salad, entree and desert were perfectly timed and made our evening truly enjoyable. I would recommend, and have, Caffe' Molise to anyone! By the way, the food was absolutely delicious - again!
Our food and server were great, and the price was exactly in line with what we expected. My only negative comment is that we were seated across from the register where I watched another server (not ours) drop a roll of silverware on the floor, pick it up, quickly look around, and then place it on a table she was setting. However, given the rest of our experience at the restaurant, I'd categorize that as an individual problem, rather than one characterizing this restaurant.
Came upon this place, highly recommended from a colleague. I was NOT disappointed! The food was filling, delicious, and authentic. We went on a Saturday so there was some fabulous live jazz and they were fantastic. Everyone in the place seemed pleased and easy going.
Only reason I gave 4 stars is because the food didnt come out hot. It was a little warm but I would have liked it hot. Besides the food temperature, it was a little pricey but the food tasted terrific. We were seated immediately and on time, we were greeted by our server quickly, and the staff is very friendly. I will eat here again to give the food temperature another chance.
Given its location, Caffe Molise is perfect for a pre-theatre meal. We arrived at 5:45 and easily made it to Symphony Hall by 7:30. The service was excellent--we were seated promptly and at the end of the meal, we did not have to request our check. One of us is lactose intolerant, and the waitress ensured that selected menu items were dairy-free. The waitress even selected only dairy-free desserts to offer as choices. Food was delicious, served hot, and plated appealingly. Service was gracious, efficient, and non-intrusive. My husband loved the halibut fish special. Salad greens were fresh with dressing served on the side, as requested. As a I don't eat much meat, I ordered spaghetti pomodoro, and it was served on a bed of fresh arugula--a delicious combination. Restaurant Noise level is moderate, given the hard surfaces, but there was no loud or annoying music. Our only complaint was the bread (rolls). They were rather doughy/heavy without a crisp crust and rather tasteless. The restaurant could do better with a small, crisp airy ciabatta roll or light, heated french bread. Overall, we were very happy with our meal and left a larger than usual tip. We will return again when attending a theatre event in Salt Lake City. With such great service, well-trained waiters, convenient location, and delicious food, it's the perfect choice.
Evening dinner, we ate on the patio, beautiful autumn leaves in a lighted outdoor canopy made it very romantic. We could see pieces of the city skyline through the lattice. The food was very interesting and delicious Italian, pasta was fresh, sauce and fabulous fresh rolls were the perfect complement.
Have been there at least 6 times with different friends I have brought. Most every time was grand. This time our waiter let us wait a bit too long to order prior to the theater which made us anxious. Also the bus staff was supposed to bring us a box for takeout which we never got. Very small things but great overall.
We eat here before the opera at least twice per season. The servers are knowledge about the menu. The wine list is excellent (they have a range of top Italian wines). The food is excellently prepared and presented from appetizers to the salads to the main dishes to the desserts. I particularly like their interpretations of Norther Italian (that means no tomato and garlic) foods.
We made reservations for dinner before an evening at Abravanel Hall. We arrived right on time and they seated us immediately. The restaurant is rather large for being right downtown. Great for walking distance from Abravanel, Salt Palace, or City Creek. The food was good. First time I have had polenta. A very fun appetizer with a tomato base sauce, cheese, and spicy sausage. Very tasty and not too spicy. We followed that with a pappardelle dish that was very nice as well. Simple presentation. Excellent pasta. The meat (beef and pork) was nothing special, simply ground. The dinner rolls were served warm and were wonderful. I can see why they charge for additional rolls.
We were in Salt Lake City for a convention and made reservations for 12 people. We instead had about 15 people. The restaurant was so accommodating. The service was exceptional and everyone's food was delicious. I had the salmon and it was fabulous (and...I am picky about quality). I loved this restaurant and I will definitely eat here again when I come back to Salt Lake!
