Enjoyed an evening with out of town friends, one of whom is from a very Italian family. We all loved our meals, enjoyed our waiter Chris, and love what they’ve done with this beautiful, stately building!
Food is always excellent, new location is stunning and service is always top-notch!
The menu was creative and enticing. So many choices with an array of wine selections. Will return again.
The food was delicious. A real treat. We were visiting from out of town and found this place on the Yelp app. Well worth the minor inconvenience of a reservation.
Food was cold..reheated from prior prep. Chicken Marsala was a tough chicken breast in a questionable presentation. New place food has definitely taken a slide compared to original location. Service was very good...food and noise levels can not be reccomended
I’ve been a Caffé Molise patron for a few years and this was my first experience in their new location. The building is beautiful with a bright, sophisticated interior. I love the addition of the bar inside so guests can have a quick cocktail before their reservation or after. The service was excellent, as always, with manager Shelley taking time on a busy Saturday night to wait on our table personally. I’m always impressed with the consistency in the quality of menu staples and enjoy trying the specials as well.
Disappointing. The new area though lovely is way too large. Gone is any intimate dining experience replaced by a beautiful but cafeteria feeling. The food was good but my pasta was lukewarm.
Took my boyfriend out for his birthday here. Service was great, food was delicious. My first time at their new location. Very busy, a little loud but it was also Friday night so that is expected. Overall I had a wonderful evening and my boyfriend enjoyed everything as well.
one of our favorite restaurants! the food is always delicious, and their new location is absolutely stunning! Can't wait to go back!
I wanted to try this place based on a recommendation since I was visiting for a conference. I don’t know if it was because I was dining by myself or because of the placement of my table, but the service was subpar. And I saw the same server providing better service to tables around me. The food was alright. Good but nothing special. My tiramisu was watery.
We dined for our 34th Anniversary..prior to going to the theater. Our server took note at what time our meal was to be completed in order to get to the theater on time. And he ensured everything was perfect. I couldn’t get my Uber app to work. A lovely woman with blond hair (I’m so sorry I didn’t get her name) who was working the front desk called a taxi for us. When it didn’t arrive, she called them again & even called another company (3 calls in all) in order to ensure we got to the theater. 3 taxis showed up at the same time! Anyway, we barely arrived at the theater just before they stopped seating. This was due to that lovely woman’s due diligence. Above & beyond customer service.
Would have been nice to know that you have moved. Could have been communicated in the conformation.
Our server was fantastic!
Food was great but service was slower than expected, since we let them know we had a show to get to after dinner.
First trip to the new digs for Caffe Molise in the old Eagles building. They've done a spectacular job in the renovation and decoration. You need to see it, upstairs too. Tuesday night and crowded a little too loud with a couple of big groups. Menu about the same with several specials, and food was excellent as always. Good wine list. Service made us feel rushed and the waiter pressed (invited would be a kinder term) to "upgrade" on everything from wine to salads to entree additions. That's often management practice, or a waiter trying to earn more in tips, but it came across as intrusive, not inviting. That aside, the food (we go for the pastas and sauces) remains spot on in flavor--one of few Italian restaurants we will frequent.
Food was delicious. Took a bit of investigating to get there because our uber dropped us off at the old location. It was just a ten min walk though so not a huge deal. Hope the restaurant gets that fixed with google maps soon.
This was a dinner meeting with a friend from Wisconsin. We were all very pleased with the new location. It has a pleasant ambiance. The food offerings were very tasty and came hot. The waiter was attentive but not overbearing. The wine choices were also good and the waiter was able to explain which ones paired well with what we ordered. We will definitely go there again.
We had reservations and arrived early and checked in. The hostess said give me a few minutes to get your table ready, other patrons came in and were seated , we kept looking over at the hostess hoping she would seat us, after 10 minutes I went to the check in and she looked right at me and asked if she could help me? Umm we were kind of dumbfounded, Anyway another person got us seated right after that , it was an okay table but the area is much too bright and loud compared to the other location. Another couple that was brought in to the area declined sitting in there because of the brightness. However the service the food the dessert was outstanding and afterwards we went downstairs to the Wine Bar and that was very good, ambiance was perfect, great service- The evening was wonderful!!
We've been going to Caffe Molise since we moved to SLC three years ago and it doesn't get old. Their new location is great and food is consistently delicious. We've had Josue as our server a few times and he's great. We always enjoy Caffe Molise.
Food was good and service was wonderful. I wish prices were more accommodating to the amount of food. Really cozy place!
The building is beautiful and LARGE, plenty of seating which can either be a distraction or an attraction, depending on what you need. Food had good flavor but arrived lukewarm. Truthfully, I was a bit underwhelmed but also willing to give it another try.
Great for pre-symphony dining. They are in a new location, only 3 blocks from Abravanel Hall, and really good Italian food.
Service was great, they have done a great job redoing the old building. But it is very, very noisy and for all practicality no parking. Food we received was barely warm and not at all what was described in the menu.
Although we had a show to catch and told the waiter that, we still felt a little rushed by the service. We had extra time after our dining was completed. But we will still return!
The food was good as it usually is at Cafe Molise. The new location is quite a bit noisier than the the old one, and the servers have started snatching plates off the table without asking if you are finished.
First time for us to see the new location...It was marvelous. The decor was absolutely stunning, as was the building itself. Service and food were as good, if not better, than at the previous location. I invite you to check it out as well as BTG located downstairs.
My husband and I were in town visiting relatives. Our nephew recommended Cafe Molise. He works downtown and goes frequently to the restaurant. We had pasta dishes and thought they were delicious. A big tasty green salad went with it. It was excellent value. We loved the atmosphere in an old building that has been beautifully restored. The service was great. Our waitress was friendly and helpful. We come to SLC once or twice a year and will definitely be back.
One of our favorite places to eat. The summer squash ravioli and gnocchi are favorites.
Food is always incredible. Classic. However, the new location has parking challenges. Your choices are across the street for $8 or luck into one of 20 or so street parking spots. Molise needs to pay for valet. Negotiate a better price for evening Parkers. We won’t be back until there’s a more convenient solution. It was too much of a hassle to park.
First time at their new location. Superb use of space and warmly decorated. Food was as good as ever. Staff was most pleasant. Will go back whenever I visit SLC.
Very nice. our dinner was nice. Service was excellent. The only hiccup we had was our coffee with dessert. We ordered bread pudding and coffee. They were out and we'd finished our dessert and were ready to go so we canceled the order. But that wasn't our server's fault. I would recommend this to everyone.
The new location is fantastic! The food was good as always.
Amazing service with great food, perfect date night.
The building was absolutely beautiful...inside and out. The food was amazing. It hit every taste bud made you wanting for one more bite. The service was slow, but we chalked that up to them getting accustomed to a new building. Especially going from one story to three. The only thing I would recommend would be to dim the lights down a bit on the top floor. You have this beautiful great hall, a live jazz band, and candles on the table. There's no need for having all the lights on. The top floor would feel 100 times more romantic and make you feel like you're having a personal experience with your loved one if you turned down the lights and let the candles on the table do the work. We don't the lights on so bright that you see all the pasta sauce on everyone's face.
Unfortunately, my husbands entrée was cool. He did not want it returned to the kitchen and ate it anyway. The Antipasti were exquisite and the garden salad was tasty but could have used grape tomatoes and mini cucumbers to jazz it up. Because of how delicious the antipasti was my husband was really disappointed with his entre while my dinner was as good or better than the antipasti.
The service was EXCELLENT!! All of the employees we interacted with seemed happy to provide whatever we might need plus they seemed truly interested in conversing with us.
I will definitely give Caffe Molise another try to be completely EXCELLENT!
I wanted to try an upscale Italian restaurant for dinner. I was disappointed. I ordered a chicken dish which included a salad, seasonal vegetables and garlic mashed potatoes. I upgraded my salad the spinach salad.
The salad was very good. The bread was a roll which nearly broke my teeth and should it have been any good would have cost me .95 for another. The chicken dish was barely lukewarm, seasonal veggies (I've had better tasting at a buffet) weren't hot either, and the mashed potatoes, although tasty, was a small dollop. ($22.95 for a meal that maybe cost them $7.00) The service was pretty good, my tea and water were always full. However, I did not say anything about the temperature of my food because my waiter became very busy and by the time he came back to me I was ready to try some dessert. The chocolate cake was tasty, but not worth $7.95. When I got the bill I found out that an upgrade to my salad cost me $5.95, a little ridiculous and had the waiter informed me of this cost I would have stuck to the side salad and paid $6 less. Nearly $50 for a meal whose leftovers ended up in the trash because the heated up chicken was like rubber. I will never be back!!
The initial service was slow, the pace of the food delivery to our table was way off and the food was hit and miss. It took nearly ten minutes after we were seated before we were addressed by a server. We ordered drinks and appetizers, and the appetizers were brought within 3 minutes. Our salads were brought about 5 minutes later, then our entrees were brought about 1 minute later. So, we had our entire 3 course meal sitting on the table. The server who brought our dinners just set them on the edge of the table and walked away. This meant our dinner was cool before we finished our salads. I didn’t get the feeling that the staff was trained to the level of being considered professional servers. The food was ok. The spicy shrimp was not spicy, and the sauce seemed like a watery “out of the can” tomato sauce. The squash ravioli was cool when we got it, and the ravioli was tough, like it had dried out then been reheated. We won’t bother going again, there must be better options in Salt Lake City.
Great food, excellent wine list and upscale decor. We liked it well enough to visit again!
Excellent food! Great service! We regularly eat at this restaurant when we come downtown for events. While the new location is a little further out, it is still walkable to downtown locations.
Amazing food, as per usual. The new location still has a bit of a scent from the construction, but the menu is unchanged and delicious. Plan on coming a little early, as parking is a problem.
Great food and cool building. Parking can be difficult but we really enjoyed our meal.
