We happened to have chosen to eat at Caffe Molise while there was Prom going on. We thought this was going to make it difficult to be seated and served. To our surprise, it was the exact opposite!
I did happen to make a reservation ahead of time, but typically you still have to wait for a seat to be ready at most places in Salt Lake City. Not this case here! We were seater right away and immediately had someone take out drink order. The speed in which our waiter checked up on us was the perfect pace.
I also want to take note that there was this woman working who seemed to be the one dedicated to taking plates away. She was always on top of it! Kudos to her, too!
Prom night - lots of kids there - understanding why it was loud - but everything else was great!
I’ve heard many good things aboutCaffe Molise and was looking forward to trying. It was very disappointing.
Appetizers and dessert were good. Entre was terrible! A friend and I both Ordered one of the specials; halibut with blueberry salsa. The server “sold” it as a “mild and light summer dish.”
Halibut was way over cooked and dry and it was so spicy hot it burned our lips! Could not even eat it! When the server asked about it I told him we did not like it at all and it was too spicy! He argued it was not spicy, maybe just the pasta. He brought a cup of plain, unseasoned spaghetti as an offering! WOW!
I don’t mind paying for a good meal, but I really resent having to leave my uneaten dinner on the table.
Don’t think I’ll be back!
Cafe Molise Changed my life. Great waiter. Great Food Great Stuff.
Restaurant upstairs is open and cheery. The seating is in an open area that can be loud if there are a lot of guests eating. We were at first seated by the entrance of the restaurant and requested to move as this would be distracting watching people coming in and out of the restaurant. They accommodated to a different table with a view of the city and glimpse of the mountains. The wine selection was moderate; but nice. They do own the wine bar downstairs that you can order from the full menu. We enjoyed the rest of our wine down there as well as dessert. The downstairs wine bar is more intimate and cozy for a romantic dinner or to just to enjoy a glass of wine and small bites. Service was excellent in both locations. Staff is very attentive, from waiter, server, and busser.
Great place will come again
We had reserved for a party of two and then within an hour modified it to accommodate a party of four. They were not prepared for for four but were able to accommodate our larger party. The food was acceptable and the service was good. We had an early dinner reservation and felt like the main courses from the menu were better than the specials.
Some unusual dishes. My wife and I shared the bruschetta misto which was very creative and plentiful and then had the eggplant "meatballs" (they are meatless) and the arista for mains. All were terrific: flavorful, ample portions, at very reasonable prices. If we lived in Salt Lake City we would go there often. We made reservations (on a Wednesday night) and that was a good idea: they were very busy. There is an adjacent parking lot, with limited capacity.
Make this a go to spot. Food is delicious! Atmosphere is welcoming. You can BYOB!
Home/Housemade papparadella is wonderful!
We love the new location of Caffe Molise - what a great building - and so much more room! The food is always excellent as is the staff.
Solid food. Good wine list. Nice place.
I guess I bummed they moved. The food seemed off. The staff was definitely off. And the noise level is a lot when sitting next to the kitchen. CM use to be one of my top places... Not sure if I’ll return. If I do, I’ll sit in the bar for sure.
The appetizer was great. My shrimp scampi was very messy to eat and my husband and I both needed to take our clothes to get cleaned the next day. A thicker sauce could help
Good and ambiance were delightful but our server was a bit aloof.
Beautiful space for a large party. However be prepared to wait for everything. I had reserved a table for 10 at 8:15 and did not get seated until 8:45. Ordering a bottle of proseco took forever - and after upon requesting an additional glass the I believe the waitres had to go alll the back downstairs retrieve the additional glass which put a damper and trying to cheers the 200 bottle. If you want to be high end with a menu I would expect the service to match. Furthermore to get through the dinner it took 2 hours to do the food coming out slow and server not coming to the table frequently enough to grab requests. We
Didn’t even get to order appetizers until 30 after being seated.
Food was great, service was awesome. It was our first time there and we chose Caffe Molise because on the website it said they had live jazz very Friday night. However, there was no live jazz and the waiter didn't know why.
We had lunch on April 2 and the food was outstanding as was the service. Took my colleagues for dinner on April 4 and our server was missing in action..my food was cold, we were never checked on. I sat throughout the meal with nothing to eat.
Well thought out combination of flavours and colour cooked to perfection and served elegantly. Excellent service without being over-attentive. Diverse and reasonably priced wine list.
Love the food, the new location is a little farther than we would like, but worth it. The old building restored is terrific.
New location is a plus in accommodating larger parties. Food was well prepared, as represented, and server was attentive/very good.
Asked and received veggies for the artichoke dip. Very convenient to split a meal. Perfect size for us
Great food and ambience in very close proximity to the Grand American hotel. Quaint architecture. Server was a blast. Salmon was perfect and the bisteca to die for.
This place always exceeds my expectations. I absolutely love the Bistecca with a glass of good wine!
Very friendly and so delish! Would definitely return next time I’m in town.
It was my birthday and my first time here. AMAZING food and amazing service with Josue. My boyfriend snuck around to tell him it was my birthday and they gave me a free desert. Everything about this place is recommendable and awesome!
The food and ambience was perfect. Most enjoyable in SLC for some time.
Paul is usually our favorite waiter, but, he was off and Ben was brilliant. The manager came up to touch bases with us and everything is always perfect at Café Molise
Solid Italian food at prices you can easily stomach. Table's turn extremely fast, our entire 3 course meal took only 50 minutes to completion. Highly attentive staff, and a great building. Of our two dishes, one was incredible, the other so-so. But everything else was top notch. Excited to try more of the menu.
Dinner was good. Good selections and specials. The service was great, despite two large groups in the restaurant at the same time. Went on a Friday and had the treat of the band starting while we finished dessert. Great ambiance and fun place. Dessert wasn’t the best I’ve had, the cake a little dry. But the rest was awesome. Would recommend stopping by for a try.
Great staff and service! Our meals were excellent and the entire experience was delightful.
It was very good in terms of food and service. The waiter was very attentive and worked hard for us and the pappardelle al sugo was exquisite.
Alyssa was a great server....pasta was delicious and salad was great!
Very good food and service. The appetizers were amazing! would recommend.
So pleasantly surprised at how beautifully they have renovated this gorgeous building. The food was fabulous and the ambience wonderful. They have really upped their game. I will definitely be back!
The food is a little overpriced for the quality, but I keep coming back. Good little Italian spot.
Food was decent, service was also. 2 things we didn't like. A salad upgrade charge for a small Caesar salad? Also there are 2 levels to the restaurant. The lower area looked like a regular place, but we were seated upstairs. Terrible ambiance, seemed we were in a cafeteria setting. Couldn't hear any music, uncomfortable
Our waitress Claudia, was wonderful and got the chef to make vegan options for me and told us a little about the history of the historic building!
I was in town for an evening with my daughter and we were looking for some good home cooking. We found it at Cafe Molise. The Pappardelle al Sugo was made with fresh noodles and was amazing. The lasagne was a comfort food masterpiece.
Great food. Good value. Great service. Beautiful atmosphere. Highly recommend for anything from date night to everyday dining to a special event ie birthday, bachelorette party, anniversary, etc.
