What a wonderful welcome and experience in this little sliver of a place! Mario could not be more welcoming or unobtrusively attentive, and the menu is a fascinating collection of Neapolitan dishes labeled in dialect, that are tasty and well prepared and presented.

Cafe Macaroni continues to be one of the best Italian restaurants in San Francisco. Mario and his staff turn out excellent pastas, a good assortment of seafood served variously raw, marinated, or cooked, and interesting meat dishes, the foods of Mario’s southern Italian homeland. I was visiting from Tennessee. I heard about Caffe Macaroni, it's friendly owners and delicious food, from a podcast. I immensely enjoyed my visit. The owner is accommodating, attentive and genuine. The experience feels personal. The atmosphere is spot on. There was nothing negative about my visit. It's great to see a business with passionate owners providing an enjoyable experience for patrons. Next time I visit, definitely dining here again.
