Had a wonderful time—Brunch was delicious and loved the unlimited Carafe of Mamosas! Hospitable service. Enjoyed a great birthday celebration with my aunt. And received $10 discount for her Birthday! Highly recommend this restaurant.
As first timers, we loved everything about Caffe Gelato! The special scallop appetizer was an unexpected surprise and the cocktails were awesome! From our salads to our main courses, the food was flavorful and the menu was creative. Our server was attentive and knowledgeable about the menu (Anna? Bad memory). Oh, and the salted caramel gelato was ridiculous. Can’t wait to come back!
I have always had excellent meals st Caffe Gelato. Order the scallops! On our most recent visit our salads were delicious, my salmon and my husband’s filet mignon were delicious and excellently prepared and presented. Service was excellent. I loved the amuse bouche. Thanks!
We were coming off a long hike and were looking for a sit down a la carte full mid day meal. Cafe Gellato only had Brunch Fare at 1400 hrs. Dinner service did not start until 1600hrs.
Nonetheless we found enough choices between Starters and a few Entree like plates.
Phoebe our server was new, learning, and delightful.
Wine list excellent. Food well prepared well presented and tasty.
Gellati for desert.
We go back often enough so we can see if Phoebe has learned to open and pour a wine bottle.
The paella was unexpected on an Italian restaurant menu and was delicious! It was a generous portion packed full of delicious stuff, lobster, clams, mussels, sausage, chicken and salmon. We were blown away by their extensive wine list and ordered a very well priced white Châteauneuf-du-Pape which is so rare to find on restaurant menus! It was a delightful brunch.
I have had many meals at Gelato and have never been disappointed. At this brunch I ordered a seafood crepe that was unique and delicious. I also ordered their white Sangria to accompany this, also satisfying. Truthfully, I've always enjoyed anything I ordered at Gelato.
My wife rated her glass of Shiraz as excellent. We both ordered salads to start and an appetizer to split, all of which came at once. We weren't halfway through these when the entrees arrived. All the food was delicious but I'd have preferred a more leisurely pace. I'd noted in the reservation it was an anniversary celebration. We took gelato home for dessert. They used to send it along in a miniature, styrafoam "cooler" but no longer. It was three scoops of different flavors (as ordered) and varying amounts, layered one atop the next in a small tumbler-shaped container. It melted a little in transit but less than it might have since our server thoughtfully packed it with a small bag of ice. It was still very tasty, as were the leftovers of our entrees that we brought home, portions being generous.
We always enjoy our visits to Caffe Gelatto. Our cocktail was perfect, and our dinners of crispy skin duck and sauteed scallops and clams on linguine were delicious. Thank you for a winderful experience.
We enjoy Café Gelato but we were seated in the back by the kitchen and the constant crashing of dishes made for a very bad atmosphere. It was way too loud to be able to enjoy a conversation. In addition, when the waitress brought our coffee she only brought flavored creamers. Coffee was done by the time we tracked her down.
Celebrated my mother’s birthday, and her anniversary, we ended to getting the private wine room in the front of the restaurant which was excellent because there was no noise , without requesting it was a great surprise and really made the evening great. The food and service were excellent as Always, The Scallop special was incredible! All around fabulous evening! Thank you!!
It pains me to give this restaurant a poor review; however, I hope it will help them improve their service. The place is very cool looking and homey at the same time. I had an awesome raspberry sorbet martini . The hostess was miserable from the get go. The server was trying to be nice, called everyone ‘hon’, even though we are 50 and she is 20 ish. She just gave such poor service . She ordered one of the entrees wrong, honest mistake , but no manager checking in what was going on . She didn’t clear the plates until they were all piled on top of each other . We decided to stay for coffee and dessert and got our coffee promptly; although , it had a burnt taste to it , we appreciated the effort . She never brought the dessert menu, even though we said yes when asked if we wanted it . Just dropped our check The food was good ; although some of it was plated oddly, we thought. Gnocchi, filet were thumbs up. We thought this was a good concept, but executed poorly because of lack of training of the staff and no manager presence. Nevertheless, we want to give them another try.
Not as pleased as usual. There was confusion about who had our table and we waited about 15 minutes before a waiter came. The staff overall seemed a bit scattered and unorganized (bringing food to the wrong tables, etc) but our waiter (Chip) was great. He gave great suggestions and recommendations. The crab and shrimp which is my goto anymore was not as flavorful as usual and the shrimp were slightly undercooked. My husband really enjoyed his salmon which was modified to omit the olives at Chip's suggestion. He did not really care for the accompaniments that came with the salmon but that changes all the time. Most of my favority gelato flavors have been eliminated but luckily Chip suggested replacements that worked well. Overall experience is slipping but it is still a very good restaurant. I think it my be missing the owners touch. His presense really seems to make a difference. :-)
Thank you! We thoroughly enjoyed dining at your restaurant!
As always we were more than pleased with our dinner at Caffe Gelato. The service was prompt and the food was excellent. We both chose the Lobster Gnocchi and it was fantastic. I would highly recommend Caffe Gelato to anyone.
Took our UD college student out to dinner. Delicious!!
One of the worst restaurants I have ever eaten at. The quality of the meat was horrible. We ordered the filet mignon and it was a filet like I had never seen before. We didn’t eat it. The restaurant was kind not to charge us for it. The Caesar Salad was horrible. The lettuce was all the dark leafy Romain, none of the crunchy Romain. My wine was served in a dirty glass. To make matters worse we were seated in a room where there were barely any people. Will never ever go back to this restaurant.
Our server Jeff Sammons was excellent & the food was also very good.
We were on a time constraint. Our waitress was on the ball and served us very quickly. We both had the brie/tomato and pear omelette. It was delicious (especially the potatoes that came as a side) and we got to the theatre in plenty of time. We sat outside, which is always a treat on Main Street.
Great birthday celebration. Noisy due to corporate event in the adjoining bar area. Server was somewhat distracted and slow. Past service has been MUCH better
I had heard such great things about this restaurant and was so disappointed. We were seated at a booth. The fabric on the booth was filthy. I ordered scrambled eggs, bacon and potatoes. The eggs were inedible. The potatoes were undercooked. The coffee was not drinkable. Horrible all around
My issue with this restaurant is always the same...the service is terrible but the food is great. There seems to be no organization among servers and very poor management BUT the food is still fantastic and their menu offers a great variety of options. The food and menu keep me coming back but each time I visit I hope for better service and am always greatly disappointed.
Excellent food and a nice variety of menu offerings. Servers were very attentive...great meal!
Overall we had a good experience with attentive service and general quality of preparation. We liked the small plate options for those who wanted to eat light. They were generous portion sizes and the mussels and creamy broth were exceptionally good. The small plate of short ribs was tasty. The filet entree was a bit of a disappointment. While tender, the requested medium rare was overcooked so the meat was dry. The creme brûlée gelato was the best of the flavors ordered.
This not my first time coming here. It has the best burgers ever. I alway tell my Mom when we are in a mood for an awesome burger and fries this is the place to go. I have not tried anything else because the burgers are awesome. Also the Gelato itself is a treat. My rating for this dining experience is a 10+.
Love meeting my girl friends. We drink and eat at the bar. Always have a great time. Only hiccup was the parking lot. None of us understood the set up.
Booked a reservation to celebrate my husband's birthday. We had received the $20 discount coupon to use on your birthday and thought it would be a good idea. We have eaten at Caffe Gelato a few times prior to this and remembered that the food was very good and this visit was just as good. Our server was attentive and we had a lovely evening. A woman at the table next to us was also celebrating her birthday so it was extra special. Our food was very good. Thank you for a lovely dinner experience.
We had a decent meal, but my 8 oz. filet was undercooked. I ordered the filet medium-well and it was medium at best. I do not like when My mashed potatoes turn pink from the juice. We all ordered desserts as it was a birthday dinner and I had the cheesecake. It was the worst cheesecake I have ever had. Way too dry and it seemed as though the baker forgot the vanilla or the sugar - it had a sour taste. Overall, we feel this place is too pricey.
Great place for romantic dinner or get together with friends. A bit pricey but ambiance and service make up for it. Would visit again for dpecial occasion.
Great meal..second time we ate there...same waiter...he was greatb
Interestingly the ambiance was spoiled by the unkept staff walking back and forth and the other staff socializing. We hadn't been to CG for a while but received a promo and decided to come back for date night. Was a bit disappointed, sorry to have to be honest. Maybe just an off night but for the price you pay, not sure we will be back if there's a possibility its lost its luster.

Very good food, and our waiter Dan was attentive and accommodating.
My girlfriend and I do not go out much, but it turned out to be a very lovely date. It wasn’t very loud and crowded, and the staff was very welcoming and friendly. The food came out quickly and was very good.
Great spot for parents who want to treat their college student to a great meal.
always a good choice. I met a friend and we had a very enjoyable lunch
Birthday which was indicated in the reservation but waiter did not acknowledge.
Food was very good. It was a limited menu and everyone was happy with their meals
Our server was knowledgeable and attentive, food was delicious as always!
Sad to report a not so good meal, as opposed to other times dining here. Had the special seafood pasta dish. The fish was slightly off and extremely salty. The peach cobbler dessert was entirely devoid of peach flavor. Our service person was great though, prompt and courteous. This is the first time I have eaten here and not been happy with the food. I’ll give it one more try.
This was my first time here, after recommendations from friends. I LOVED it! The atmosphere was high end , but very charming. I had the roasted salmon since I am a big fan of seafood, and it was AMAZING! Our server was very attentive and we had a wonderful experience. Will DEFINITELY be going back!
