Caffe Fiore - San Francisco Ratings and Reviews
Yummy, cozy and always delivers. Great for a sweet little couple’s dinner or a larger party (we had 6). Warm family- style service. Only thing - don’t expect to pop in for a quick bite. Dinner service has a beautifully relaxed and oh-so-Euro pace. Perfect if you can chill and go with the flow. Stressful if you’re on a tight schedule.
Our favorite neighborhood spot!
It was my wife’s birthday yesterday on November 1. The place was rather empty so we pretty much had it to ourselves. Edoardo is always attentive and kind and the food is delicious. My wife had been craving their panna cotta so we schlepped over from Oakland just to have this desert. Yes there are Italian places over here in the East Bay but Caffe Fiore has a special place in our heart. Thanks Eduardo for a sweet night.
I decided to try this place after reading mostly positive reviews. Those were spot-on! I thoroughly enjoyed my meal. I just got back from an Italian vacation, so I was interested in finding a restaurant whose food would rival what I ate in Italy. It was very close! My gnocchi was delicious, and I paired it with an Italian wine that also was good. I'd go back the next time I'm in the area.
Any time an Italian restaurant is run by Italians I feel that it is worth trying. I'm glad we tried Caffe Fiore. It was simple, homey, great food and a non pretentious atmosphere.
We loved our meal, great for sharing btw, and the bread was yummy too. My friend didn't care for the carpaccio, but I thought it was fine, just not great. The brussle sprouts were delish.
I would definitely return to Caffe Fiore.
The food and service was superb. We happened to go in early on a Friday evening with a reservation but we didn't really need the reservation. The server (maybe also the owner) took special care to be sure all of our questions were answered and needs were met. Each plate was delicious. We had ample time between courses and were left with plenty of space to chat and socialize. After a mixup with our dessert, our server was gracious in offering another and did not charge us for our error. Overall, this will be my go-to place when I visit San Francisco. Delicious, fresh, wonderful atmosphere and on and on and on....
The owner was also our waiter and was delightful, picking just the right wine for us and giving me the beautiful bottle afterwards. We had 2 different pasta dishes, both excellent, the shrimp skewer and the salmon. Everyone loved their meal. Portions are quite large. Both the tomato appetizers were delicious, one with a huge hunk of burrata. The restaurant was very quiet both nights I have been there, which is unusual in this city. There was no pressure to hurry, which is also unusual. Parking was easy. All in all a great dining experience
We had a nice experience here except for a bit of a snafu with the check at the end. Came with some friends on Friday night and the restaurant became busy quickly. The food was good, tasted fresh and I was pleased with the menu selection. The pastas are very good. The wine list is okay if you like Italian wine. I skipped it in favor of the Spritz cocktail which was lovely. Our waitress was very patient and accommodating. Our only problem is that we were charged for 10 crostinis but we only ordered 5. We didn't notice until we got home because they don't give you the itemized bill when you sign, we only received it by email later that night. Make sure you check the bill before you hand over your card!
we dined on a Tuesday, 5pm and absolutely loved the quaint neighborhood restaurant. We started with the arugula salad, we split. It was fresh with a mild dressing season, it was good. My friend ordered the skirt steak, I ordered the salmon. Portions were plentiful, and absolutely yummy, and balanced with its side dishes. We ate everything, and although full, it didn't stop us fron splitting a cannoli for dessert. Waiter, the owner was very attentive and we would go back when we can.
How does the Pasta Princess survive as a gluten-free eater? I still go to authentic Italian restaurants, such as Caffe Fiore. Both myself and my cousin have food intolerances, and we were absolutely delighted at the delicious and healthy fare, the willingness to customize the menu for us, the excellent choices for my gluten-eating mate, and overall we had a lovely dinner. Even the espresso was perfect. As someone who lived in Italy for five years, I can spot authenticity, and this is it. Wish I could eat their homemade pasta, but nonetheless, highly recommended!
Pretty great spot for a Valentine's Day date. Took the wife and was worried about whether I was overdressing with even a button up shirt and slacks with a name like cafe, but it was chill, good food, quiet, and we blended with everyone else on a date that night. Would recommend if you're looking for a cozy place with a chill, relaxing, and hassle free setting for Valentine's Day. Admittedly food took a while to come out, but I guess with a place as small as that, just be patient and it'll treat your evening good in return. Heard they have a good brunch so I'll be down to check it out soon
Really enjoyed the food and the ambiance. My clam and linguine pesto was incredible. Only complaint: my wife wanted more eggplant in her dish! It was that good!!
I would say it was a real European experience. I have not been to Italy but it called to mind places I've been to in Spain and Switzerland (Geneva). Our friends said it reminded them of Italy.
Please support this restaurant so it can continue to be in business. Great location too: Corner of 24th and Guerrero, just two blocks from BART.
Caffe Fiore is an amazing spot in the City. Everything about this restaurant is top-notch. The coffee is delicious too! We celebrated my son's birthday at brunch. Our servers came by with cake to celebrate! My family and I were impressed and we all were made to feel welcome. We will definitely be back. Thank you for your warm hospitable service and delicious food.
I have been to Fiore 4 times, each time the food has been very good and the experience mostly enjoyable. What I have noticed is the FOH staff turns over, I have never seen he same service staff on each visit. The only consistent person is whom I believe might be the owner/manager, and service is not his thing. The last experience was not good, he was our server, he was distracted, had no follow through, didn't offer parmesan on Pasta's no cracked pepper on Salads, no checking on how the meals were until more than half way through. He couldn't recall who ordered what and generally seems uninterested. We will try one more time, but if its a similar experience, we will miss the food, but not the experience.
A group of 6 of us with different food tastes dined there in early evening. Wonderful salads properly dressed, many appetizers for sharing including a variety of crostini, seafood pasta with garlic/olive oil not overwhelmed with cream or tomato sauces, interesting wine selection, lots of light streaming in, great service.
Nice decor, although it is very noisy. My friend and I found it very strange and off-putting that the bill is presented on a tablet that the waitress holds in front of you, rather than a paper bill. So you have to discuss the bill, and tipping, with your dining partners while the wait staff stands there holding it awkwardly in front of you, waiting for you to swipe your credit card/s or hand her cash. And you can't even decide on a tip amount, it is pre-calculated for you and you have to select from 15, 20, or 25%, without being able to see the total bill at the same time. I really disliked this and combined with an okay but not very exciting brunch menu, and the noise, I wouldn't return.
