It was a most enjoyable meal, we have visited several other Cafe Concerto's all have been excellent food and good service. However on this occasion the bar was right in the middle of the restaurant and the bar staff constantly crashed used plates and cutlery whilst clearing them away we found it difficult to have a conversation without shouting. The strawberry gateaux was amazing though.
I was very satisfied! pleasant and quiet entourage, fast service and tasty food, I'll come back
Already put one on tripadvisor, paid £56 for a very average lunch with a couple of drinks, service was slow and the wrong dish arrived at our table but saw no point in changing it as this would have entailed another long wait.
Waiting staff were poor with long wait times for basic requests as well as outright ignoring of our table. Table itself was wobbly and the floors were not particularly clean. The food was decent but due to the overall negative experience, I would not return.
We enjoyed our lunch and cakes. Good service. We had a discount card to take 25% off the bill. Coffees and cakes could have been considered a little pricey if we hadn’t had the discount.
We arrived there early but they accommodated us straight away. Gave us time to settle and select drinks before looking through the menu. Food was pleasantly served. Surroundings were very attractive and made you think you were on the continent rather than in London in mid winter. Have visited other caffe concerto outlets and the display and range of cakes is always excellent. Look forward to our next visit.
Lacked an ambience and the service was slow although the food was good.
Very good variety of food choices and at various prices. Something for everyone.
Was there with friends friday night during the Christmas period. The restaurant was quiet and lacked an atmosphere. We had to ask for them to dim the lights. It didn't feel cosy at all. The waiter got our order order because he didn't bother to note down our order. It was a complete dissapointment. Will not be returning for dinner. I have been there for brunch previosly so would recommend this location for brunch/lunch.
Service good. Food good. Would go back again.
Venue easy to find and in a great location.
It was decorated nicely for Xmas. Staff are friendly and courteous.
good service and excellent food before an evening at the royal albert hall.
You seem to get ignored when dining so ot takes a long time to get anywhere. Waitress took our order then went away. 10mins later a different waiter came and checked our order as the first waiter didnt understand! Then we recieved food and no one checked if it was ok, we were left alone. Then when we had finished we just sat there waiting for someonentobtake our plates but we were ignored. Then a female staff member took our plates and asked if we wanted a dessert menu, and we said yes. She then walked off, served other people and dissappeared....no dessert menu. She then sat in the restaurant in the corner eating a meal! Eventually we were offered it again by a different waiter.
We seem to have been ignored there whilst they focused on certain tables instead. Took ages just to wait for the bill. Wasnt impressed really when treating my mum to a birthday dinner!
I regret writing a bad review, but we had a poor experience. Service was poor and inattentive. Gluten free items on the menu were not gluten free (which we fortunately cleared up before anything was eaten). The problems were brought to the attention of the manager who did not seem to care very much, blaming all of the problems on the waiter. The desserts were surprisingly poor in texture and flavour. We have had better experiences at other Caffe Concerto locations but the Kensington location experience was very disappointing.
Everything was great particularly the staff. They were so helpful and polite.
Our party of four had an excellent dinner prior to an engagement at the royal Albert hall. We all enjoyed the cuisine.
Service was poor. We had to summon waiters, who seemed to be looking everywhere but out our table for each course and menus. The waiter, who originally served at our table did not have much command of english
Had an enjoyable meal. Staff were friendly and attentive.
My friends and I have been dining regularly at Caffe Concerto in High Street Kensington since it opened and usually enjoy the experience. However on two occasions now the bill has been considerably higher than that listed on the menu. We'd been given the wrong menus, eg the weekday one when we'd dined on a Saturday. We had chosen for the prices as well as the dish and we had a nasty surprise when presented with the bill. They should have charged on the basis of the menu given, but didn't. We also have a Gourmet Society card and declare this when booking, but they always forget and the bill has to be redone (when we are usually in a hurry to get to an event). This is annoying. However, the food is good and cakes awesome. But it is busy and noisy, no doubt a sign of its success.
All the food we usually like were at quite a good standard. However, the sea food spaghetti was so disappointing. Squid tough, mussels and clams chewy. Total shame that they seemed more frozen than fresh. I would recommend the place for more of the simple foods but definitely not for the mains.
Great food and ambience. Love this restaurant and we always dine here so highly recommend it.
The service was that great to be honest, the staff were not as nice as in Westfield-Shepherds Bush
It was a pre-concert dinner. We booked for 6pm and thought this would give us plenty of time to enjoy a leisurely meal. It wasn't as good as the previous visit last year. We had no time for desert or coffee. But it hasn't deterred us from a return visit when we are in London again.
The atmosphere was pleasant, relaxed and friendly and service generally good. Afternoon tea was very satisfactory sandwiches, scones with cream and jam, cakes - almost more than we could eat. It would have been nicer to have more choice of blends of tea. It was a nice place to meet and catch up with friends over tea - we felt we could stay as long as we wanted without feeling we were expected to leave as soon as tea was finished.
The only problem was with the booking through OpenTable. I spoke to the assistant manager who said she could not confirm my booking through OpenTable and advised me in future to book directly with the Caffe Concerto by phone.
Fab as always. Great food and great service. Would recommend :)
Love this place. Great ambience and great food. Very cosy and suitable for date nights, lunch or dinner with friends.
A group of us booked 4 tables at Caffe Concerto , Kensington High Street through Open Table. This was for 12 noon allowing us time to eat before attending the afternoon Sunday concert at Royal Albert Hall.
On arrival Caffe Concerto knew nothing about the bookings and said they no longer used Open Table. Fortunately they managed to fit 16 of us in but one meal failed to arrive despite repeated requests as to where it was and promises of "just a fee minutes".
17 people finished eating, 1 still waiting an hour after arrival. Then staff tried to dispute order - so why make promises.
Got that meal eventually and no charge after argument. What about embarrassment?
Will definitely NOT rely on Open Table in future, better to book direct with eatery.
We were a group of nine. Fabiola looked after us fabulously well and the food was enjoyed by all.
The food was average but he staff are friendly and the cakes delicious.
I am enjoyed the ambience.
Very disappointing lunch. Club sandwiches with chicken were ordered for two people. Not given a choice of bread for the sandwiches. Waitress did not inquire if we were enjoying the sandwiches. Had to ask for glasses of water Never refilled glasses unless we asked. Never offered a desserts or coffees. Asked more than once for the bill even though the cafe was almost empty. We shall not be returning or recommend the cafe.
The food was really tasty and the service is joyable
Bad value for the money. Brought me the wrong entree but I ate it as I was hungry. Food is just ok. Service slow even though not crowded.
This is the second time we have eaten at Caffe Concerto Kensington and find it very convenient for a meal before going to the Albert Hall as they serve all day. The service is excellent and we were not hassled at all and the quality of the food is of a good standard. The portion size was more than adequate and unfortunately we were unable to try the dessert menu. I used my Tastecard which made it a very reasonably priced meal.
I would recommend this restaurant for a meal at any time of day both for quality and service.
Great lovely food presented very well by well trained staff
Would definitly returm
Menu was pretty standard fare - nothing to write home about. The food was ok & the service a bit lacking. It wasn't busy.
We booked online for our visit to London and were very pleased. The food was delicious and there was a very nice warm atmosphere where you felt very comfortable. Good cocktails as well at very reasonable prices. Our only disappointment was that they had run out of the deserts we wanted so had to settle for something else but it was still very good.
We liked it that much that we ate at two other branches of Caffe Concerto for breakfast and lunch during our stay.
We picked Caffe Concerto because it is close to the Royal Albert Hall. We arrived in plenty of time for our show but needn't have worried as the service was efficient and polite and we finished in good time. There was plenty of room and the ambience was great. We were impressed with the quality and quantity of the food and felt we received very good value for money.
Try it, you will like it...
We had a lovely meal (pre theatre) service was quick but not rushed. We still managed to relax and enjoy our meal.
Good cafe food. Would go back to caffe concerto but not my favourite type of place
Visited this restaurant before going to the Royal Albert Hall, as it is located only a few minutes walk away.
Arrived at 11.45am and was offered the brunch menu (or we could have waited for the lunch menu at 12 noon).
There was an extensive choice and we were speedily served, as requested, by a very pleasant manager and other servers. The food was good and fresh, the coffee hot and the cakes exceptional.
Overall this was a good choice with a lively ambience.
We were not impressed at this restaurant..have been before was just OK but handy for HSK tube and Al Hall so I thought lets go again. Booked table for 5 not near the front door 6pm..we arrived on time.. no attempt was made to check the booking but was offered a table for 4. Got a table for 6 near the front door after a staff member having a break was moved.Food arrived OK- but 2 plates were chipped. No ketchup etc offered but we managed to get some 'brown sauce' after calling waitress back and we were left to get on with it. The medley of bread was white and brown toasted!! (there was us thinking it might be a bit of panini and a rustic roll!). We ate up and left..after paying the bill in full £79 but not the 12.5% service charge £10 odd.
