Caffe Buon Gusto - UES
This food was amazing and the service was so good and quick. Definitely will be back! Marcielo was also such a great server.
Cozy restaurants are lovely, but this is beyond cramped. Unpleasant.
Food was delicious! A bit pricey for add ons though (barely any chicken added) Waiters and host weren’t friendly at all. Food was too good to pass up though!
Great food, fast service and lovely ambiance for a romantic date!
Good basic Italian fare in a homey neighborhood spot. Reliable and friendly.
The food was fabulous. We both ordered the gnocchi and it was to die for - so fluffy and pillowy. The service was good and we got quite the authentic vibe. The pricey were a little high so it’s probably a good place for a date night or something similar.
Staff was very rude and rushed us through the meal even though it was not busy. Food was okay but service was extremely lacking.
The noise was unbearable but the food was delicious.
Great hidden gem on the Upper East Side. The avenues get a ton of traffic and visibility, but the side streets get much less. My wife and I have made an effort to try out more side street places and we really enjoyed this one. It felt more like a neighborhood restaurant with a casual vibe and no pretension. The food was great and the service was excellent. It made for a nice change of pace. I would definitely recommend hitting up this place if you are a local!
Caffe Buon Gusto is a gem! Excellent food and ambience. My daughter recommended thus fine restaurant. Can't wait to come back to NYC to visit!
Food was phenomenal and vibes were amazing
Hidden neighborhood gem
Authentic and delicious food in a noisy, way-to-close for comfort environment.
It was my first time there. Pleasantly surprised. For a casual Italian meal with solidly good food, this place works. Not great for a date night as the volume is super loud and the tables are very close to one another. I would go back under the right conditions.
Best homemade pasta I have ever had. Definitely worth every cent and save room for the ricotta and pistachio cake it is to die for
Wonderful pasta dishes!!!
You might as well go to a bad diner to get this type of Italian food!! It was inedible. I ordered pasta Bolognese. It had virtual a teaspoon of sauce an over-cooked rigatoni which was basically meatless. We were seated tin a tight corner table from which there was no way out except to have both or neighboring tables get up while they moved the table. Forget a rest room attempt. I think this is probably the worst restaurant in NYC and that is going a long way.
Delicious as always but I do think my gnocchi was a bit undercooked. I have never experienced that here so I assume it was an isolated situation.
We went for NYE dinner. It was a great date night. Best vodka sauce ever.
Beyond incredible!!! My absolute favorite restaurant in NYC!!!
Possibly the best pasta I’ve ever had! Paired well with the wine our server recommended.
The food and staff are outstanding. I highly recommend if you want genuinely great italian food. The restaurant is tiny, which I enjoyed because it felt more intimate.
Small restaurant in an old townhouse with original details still visible. Food is a bad americanization of Italian dishes. Learned a lesson, never trust an "Italian" place that lists Alfredo sauce in its menu.
This is a neighborhood gem and as first time visitors we were so enchanted! The food was great but the service was really fabulous! Marcelo was so friendly and helpful and couldn’t have been nicer! Thankyou to Giovanni also (Maitre D/manager)!
We’ll be back!
Wonderful, thoughtful servers, good food and warm atmosphere. Delightful evening
Caffé Buon Gusto is my go-to Italian restaurant in NYC! It's cozy and charming, has great food and service, and the prices are reasonable.
We really appreciated the music. It was not too loud and was American songbook rather than Christmas music. We were able to easily talk to each other and hear each other. It was our 34 yr. wedding anniversary and they played "La vie en rose" which has a lot of meaning to us.
Pasta was great!
I have to say the food was great, very small place. Make sure you make a Reservation. Nice music and Atmosphere. This will be my new spot!
The BEST pesto gnocchi ever!!! The BEST tiramisu!!!!
Our favorite upper East side restaurant
The food was amazing but the restaurant is so small. The Brooklyn location is definitely better in terms of size and service. The UES location feels as if you’re being rushed out. We were barely at the restaurant for 30 mins but we still felt rushed the entire time. I believe there also may be a price difference between the Brooklyn and UES location.
What a fantastic experience, amazing food, and all for a great price! I can’t wait to go back!
Pasta was delicious and homemade. Food was delicious. Small place but quaint. Staff was very nice.
Marchelo is a great host. We had a very nice meal of fresh burrata and homemade pastas. The meatballs were a slight disappoint and are why we wouldn't give five stars. But we will absolutely be back.
Food is consistently delicious. And the server was attentive and went out of their way to hunt us down ( around the block) to return a stuffed animal that my granddaughter left behind.
The food is good, except the bread which you may want to skip altogether. We were rushed during our meal. The price was medium expensive+ (about $100 for two—each had appetizer, pasta dish, & dessert—before tax & tip, with only one beer for the two of us). Tables are so close together that it is very difficult for the staff to pass your table without bumping into your chair.
Waitress got the order wrong. Didn’t come back once to check on our table. I asked for another order of wine 3 different times, to three different people. Only one brought it. Was charged for an extra glass of wine.
