Caffe Buon Gusto - UES
What a fantastic experience, amazing food, and all for a great price! I can’t wait to go back!
Pasta was delicious and homemade. Food was delicious. Small place but quaint. Staff was very nice.
Marchelo is a great host. We had a very nice meal of fresh burrata and homemade pastas. The meatballs were a slight disappoint and are why we wouldn't give five stars. But we will absolutely be back.
Food is consistently delicious. And the server was attentive and went out of their way to hunt us down ( around the block) to return a stuffed animal that my granddaughter left behind.
The food is good, except the bread which you may want to skip altogether. We were rushed during our meal. The price was medium expensive+ (about $100 for two—each had appetizer, pasta dish, & dessert—before tax & tip, with only one beer for the two of us). Tables are so close together that it is very difficult for the staff to pass your table without bumping into your chair.
Waitress got the order wrong. Didn’t come back once to check on our table. I asked for another order of wine 3 different times, to three different people. Only one brought it. Was charged for an extra glass of wine.
This was a lovely family run restaurant with a lovely ambience and the most lovely host! It’s been so long since I’ve had a three course meal where each dish got better. I’ll definitely be back! Molte grazie!
Always good food. I enjoy the veal tortellini. My friend had linguine with lobster which was a little bland. Crab cakes were delicious.
Best carbonara! Cute and cozy, great service, accommodating of food allergies.
The best find for insanely delicious pasta on the UES!!!! Let the awesome waitstaff weigh in on your choices and get ready to clean your plates! We had a birthday dinner for myself and daughter. We brought in champagne and a cake and they served both perfectly and helped make the celebration a great one.
My friend and I appreciated the food and service. Staff helped us divide dishes into shares. Delicious tartuffo!
Absolutely unpleasent experience! The manager or owner was very rude and unprofessional. Definetely we wouldn’t come back again!
Showed up pretty late on a Saturday, around 10:45. They seated us right away. The food arrived within 10 minutes of ordering and it was delicious - homemade pastas and rich, flavorful sauces. Will definitely be coming back.
Great food. Good prices. Been there often but last visit each course they got wrong. Did take ownership. Made us feel bad about it and instead of taking off our coffee and dessert gave us a dessert we didn’t order after ordering our desserts
Excellent gnocchi with vodka sauce and chicken parmesan, and prices were reasonable compared to other Italian options on the UES. We will definitely be back!
The waiter struggled with opening our bottle of wine. My pasta dish was not how it was described in menu.
RUN DONT WALK incredible everything. Marcello the waiter was caring, the environment was romantic and the pasta was the best I have ever had in my life
Place is so good I want to keep it for myself. Make a reservation or wait a while for a table. Will eat here every time we are visiting the city.
The best! Always delicious!
Food had way too much garlic - not as good as it usually is.
The food here was amazing! They were also running a special on some of their bottles so we got a lovely $90 red for only $45! Our server was charming and made wonderful recommendations for our dinner. Will definitely go again
Loved this place and can’t wait to return. Small, cozy, intimate dining room and a beautiful garden dining area outside back patio. Great food and amazing service. Had a special with whole wheat linguini, salmon, tomatoes, zucchini and pesto. My wife loved the gnocchi and pesto.
Very reasonably priced.
Medicore food at best. Rude and unprofessional owner.
He was insulting and not honest.
The ravioli was very nice. Bread was also excellent. There were only 3-4 active tables being actively served so the noise level was very low. I liked it overall.
Great pasta. But Small cramped and noisy.
Both me and my guest had the Ravioli (with different sauces: Alfredo & Marinara) with a salad (which was very fresh). Only comment is that you couldn't taste the spinach that was supposed to be in the ravioli squares (and maybe wasn't, which may explain why they were so deflated). Tasty sauces though.
For desert, I had the Tartufo which was superb, but my friend had the apple tart which she found too flabby.
The service was OK (the place filled up rather quickly after we arrived at 6:30 PM—with reservations—which really challenged the servers and prevented the service to reach at least 4-stars).
Pleasant decor, and noise level which rose as the quite small space filled up. Luckily we were in the back corner table and were able to converse reasonably well (having to repeat oneself about 25% of the time though). Overall the experience was good, and a future repeat is certainly in the cards (to check other items in the very extensive menu).
Great experience- nice atmosphere in the back of the restaurant.
Food was delicious and service was excellent. Portion size was a little small, but other than that everything about this restaurant is awesome.
The only problem here is trying to make a decision from this vast menu. Everything here is so delicious. Pasta are unparalled and salad specials are creative in a good way. We always bring friends and they love it.
Enjoyed it . Took a while for us to get our first drink but it was very busy for a Wednesday night in my opinion. It made it hard to hear one another . The food was delicious though and the waiter told us about their back patio-so we shall return.
A find on the Upper East Side. They will see me again and again.
Amazing pastas and very cute small outdoor seating
I know CBG in Brooklyn but had never been to the one on the UES. I insisted that my visiting friend try it instead of a very expensive restaurant that she had picked out. She loved this restaurant. So did I!! Food was great. Our waiter was fantastic. We shall return…maybe in a couple of days!!
We were pleased about every aspect of our experience. Food was well-prepared and delicious - no complaints at all.
Ambiance was very pleasant - we were early and selected the best outdoor seating.
Service was a bit slow, but friendly and helpful. The waiter’s suggestion re entree was spot on.
Noise level was not an issue - we were eating lunch outside.
We were very excited to try this place based on reviews and photos but we were very disappointed in the food and service. Even though the restaurant wasn’t very full, the wait staff were very slow and inattentive. There were ants in the bread basket, a slug slithering on the wall of the patio that none of the servers noticed. The gnocchi came inedibly undercooked. The chicken dishes were fine but not very flavorful and the broccoli on the side was undercooked. We will not be going back.
Love the back garden!
Wonderful experience as expected! The homemade pasta is fantastic. This is our go to place for a great meal that’s reasonably priced.
The pasta a la vodka blows my mind every time. This place is one of my favorites in all of Manhattan
Excellent local restaurant. I have been a regular for years.
