This charming Upper East Side café exudes comfort and conviviality, with parchment shades that soften light from sconces that warm the room. Eager to please, the kitchen uses high-quality ingredients for its mix-and-match philosophy. Patrons can choose their meats, their pastas (dried or, for a slight surcharge, the restaurant's own homemade), and their sauces (from a simple marinara to a more complex carbonara) as they create their own dishes.

I was very disappointed by the lack of a space between each table and space between the walkway and my chair. Thankfully my date was able to squeeze into the tight booth and we enjoyed our meal, despite constantly having to shift our table ever so often so that dinners near us could exit. For the price, I’ll probably do better research for a restaurant that isn’t desperate to fill every possible corner.

LOVE love love this place. the food was amazing. we got the capellini with vodka sauce and it was so good and authentic. the service was amazing. the owner was waiting on every table and taking care of every guest personally. when we wanted to get the bill he literally was like no and gave us a free desert which was the best tiramisu i’ve ever had. he really just wanted to make sure everyone was enjoying themselves and loving the food. i can’t wait to go back!

I wasn't served what the waiter described to me. I specifically said I can not have red sauce and that is in fact what was brought to me covering my salmon. The dinner was supposed to come with a side of spinach. When I complained that I couldn't have red sauce, he took it away and brought me a side salad on plate with a new piece of salmon and the spinach was removed from the plate. I did not send back again as we were trying to catch a show at 7:30 so ate it, it was fine, but not with any sauce on the salmon that I was expecting and was described on the menu and now missing the spinach! I had a salad as an appetizer so didn't want more salad on my plate with my salmon, so I was annoyed that I did not get exactly what was described on menu and by waiter.

Delicious food! WOW! Had Chicken Parm and Pasta Bolognese and both were outstanding! Sat outside in a covered area. Staff is very friendly and we will be back! Great neighborhood gem!

Well prepared dishes served with aplomb. Definitely worth a visit if you enjoy handmade pastas. The choose your pasta & choose your sauce feature is both unique and welcome going well beyond the usual handful of dishes most places. And don't forget to try the specials because they are.

I used to order delivery from here all the time because it was inexpensive and good for the price. I finally had a chance to visit in person and was blown away by the experience. This was the best service I've received at a restaurant since the start of the pandemic. Marcello and the waitstaff were incredible and the pasta was out of this world. I would highly, HIGHLY recommend checking this place out before it is impossible to get a reservation.

We used to go to Buon Gusto in the early 90s and were so thrilled to find it thriving and owned by the same family. Like going to Grandma's, if Grandma is a great cook and you uncle, aunts and cousins are willing to wait on you ;)

Amazing experience. Went with friends and the staff was friendly and accommodating of the time we wanted to leave to make a showtime. Food was incredible, particularly the homemade fettuccine and tiramisu we were gifted.
