Cafeteria 15L Ratings and Reviews
The noise level is not acceptable. We were seated very close to the door and had to wear our coats all evening. There was no toilet paper in the restroom even thought it was still quite early in the evening (around 7:30 PM). The location is very convenient, but the next time we attend the symphony we may try a different restaurant.
I went with my friends for weekend brunch, The bottomless mimosas were great! My drink continued to be filled throughout my meal with very friendly staff. We were amazed at hope quickly the food came out after we ordered. The food was delicious and filling. We will definitely be returning and bringing more friends.
This was a date night for my wife and me. She generally doesn’t like the downtown restaurant scene, since there’s usually parking hassles and a long wait to be seated. The valet parking took care of the first issue and we were immediately seated, which resolved the second. Our server gave us great advice on what to order, though she seemed stretched thin. She would disappear for long periods of time but the other staff helped her out.
I went for Dine Downtown. The food was awesome. The drinks were awesome. My only complaint was that the entrees came out while we were still eating our appetizers, our appetizers came like a minute after we were given our cocktail, so it felt a little rushed.
We went to Cafeteria 15L for Restaurant Week and it did not disappoint. The service was friendly and timely, all 3 courses were delicious, with great portion sizes, and the ambiance was intimate and relaxing. We loved it and definitely recommend it to others. Cheers!
I went on line and found that CAFETERIA 15L in Sacramento was a good option for Sunday brunch, so I made a reservation through Open Table. We were NOT disappointed! Excellent comfort food for breakfast/brunch, reasonably priced, excellent service, and fun atmosphere. The only negatives were difficult parking (even on a Sunday!), and when I tried to make a reservation on Open Table, the only time we could get for a table for 2 was 9 or 9:30. So I made a 9:30 reservation, but when we got there, there were plenty of tables—as there were at 10 and 10:30. If I'd know that, we would have arrived at 10 or 10:30. But no matter. We had a great time and will definitely go back.
Other than the light that was supposed to shine on our table being out, my family and I had a great time. Our server was friendly and patient with my young daughters, and she was kind enough to put a candle in our hot fudge sundae for my wife’s birthday. We will definitely be back.
We haven’t visited Cafeteria 15L for a year now and the place still provides good comfort food. Couple of us ordered chicken and waffles dish and the chicken breast is moist and juicy. We also ordered a mixed salad and the portion was huge.
The services was great. Our water glasses were never half empty and she kept asking about the taste of the dishes.
Overall, we will think of 15L first before going to other restaurants around this area.
My husband, a friend, and I had an early supper after a show at the Sacramento Community Center Theater. It was an easy walk to the restaurant and a delight not to fuss with parking. We were early for our reservation but were welcomed, seated in the bar, and promptly served with the happy hour menu. As soon as a table was ready, we were able to move to the dining area. We were especially pleased to see that the menu was well planned to satisfy both light and hearty appetites. All of the staff were smiling and willing to make our experience satisfying. For example, I was able to substitute blue for the original goat cheese on my awesome beet salad. We all enjoyed our meals and definitely will return to explore more of the menu offerings. I'd also like to try the outside seating in a different season but enjoyed the ambiance inside this visit, especially in the cozy bar.
We tried the restaurant before hitting the community theater for a production. Alas, my pulled pork sliders were tepid and tough and my tomato soup scalding. My spouse's cheeseburger sliders were still pink, though she requested well done. However, our teenager liked his vanilla shake. Said it was one of the best he's ever had.
The food I ordered wasn’t bad, but neither was it up to he standards I’d expect for the price or ambience of the restaurant. My broker porkchop was extremely difficult to cut through, so much so that the table shook as I sawed through. Flavor was acceptable, but it was very tough. The sweet potatoes were hard in the center, and the dessert brownie was not good (that last is my opinion). The waitress was pleasant and the wine good, but I did not expect to have to saw through potatoes and pork. I would not get that dish again, and will not likely return on my next business trip.
a homey menu with basics like meat loaf and small plates. Would like to have have had more choices of small plates. The sliders' bun was Hawaiian and too small. Needs a more substantial roll. Cheese looked and tasted like Kraft. Too salty.
Ideal walking distance ocation for after performances @ Convention Center
Chose Cafeteria15L for dinner before the theater. There were three of us and we all loved our entrees. We had a reservation and were seated immediately. The service was very good, the cocktails were delicious, and were able to share a yummy hot fudge sundae to top off the meal!! We will definitely come back...
Great place, great food. Bar was just okay. First drink was a whiskey sour kind of drink. Nothing wrong with it, just not my kind drink. Ordered an old fashion after that and it was terrible. Put a lot of ice with it so it was watered down. So maybe stick to the drink menu. Everything else was amazing!
Food was very good. I had the bacon wrapped meatloaf. Not what I expected. Had more of a sausage consistency than traditional meatloaf but very good. My wife had grilled ham and cheese. Huge. She loves their side salad. And prices for mid-town were pretty good. BUT you cannot order off the happy hour menu in the dining room. So my wife's $7.00 drink went up to $11 and inexpensive appetizers were not available. There is limited seating in the bar for meals. After dinner we went back to the bar for after-dinner drinks since the bar was still open. If we go there again during happy hour (4 - 7pm) we'll probably just eat in the bar.
We have dined at Cafeteria 15L multiple times and have always enjoyed it but were disappointed in our last experience. Our salads and entrees came out almost at the same time. I had asked for my shrimp to be cooked through but it was still opaque and spongy when served. We will come back and hope for a better experience.
holy hell this place was phenomenal i got braised short ribs over a pumpkin risotto and was shocked at how fantastic it was. my fiancée on the other hand got the hawaiian rib eye and was blown away it had a beautiful sauce glazed onto it and it had to be a 16 ounce steak grilled perfectly with garlic mashed potatoes fluffy and delicious!!! would highly suggest going for any reason
I had been looking forward to trying this restaurant for months. Unfortunately we were seated in a room that was outside but they had plastic divider up and it was not decorated at all. Evidently there is a bar that opens up there at night. The chairs were wood planks with no back so not very comfortable. The ambiance was not nice at all and that is important to me. It was also a little warm and stuffy. I would have asked to move but it was New Year's day and they seemed pretty busy. However the food was very good with large portions. Our waiter was very good and the food came quickly. I plan to return but will definitely request to sit inside where it looked much nicer and more comfortable.
We went for New Years Eve. The restaurant is attractive with high ceilings and the lighting and decor looked festive. Our waitress was very good and attentive without being intrusive. My husband got the prime rib special, I got Salmon, and our son the pork chop. All of our food was excellent including the sides with them. (My salmon was soooo delicious!) We also got salads which were tasty. We also got the special panacotta dessert which was light and flavorful. We were very happy we came this night and will return.
