Cafeteria 15L Ratings and Reviews
Large portions of delicious meals! We got seated very quickly even though we were a little early for our reservation. Service was a little slow, but it was due to the place being very crowded from a weekend brunch with lots of people doing bottomless mimosas. Food came out very quickly, and it was filling and delicious! We had the Brioche French Toast with fresh berries and the Cafeteria 15L breakfast skillet. Left with our tummies very happy!
I gave this place a 4 Star instead of 5 for two reasons, one because several people walked by as we waited for someone to come to the hostess (or whatever) stand and not one person asked had we been helped. Secondly, we sat outside and had to ask 3-4 times to have the heater turned on. Other than that, the food was good, reasonably priced. I enjoyed the unlimited mimosa's. The cabana was nice, service was good. I would come here again.
Had to take my boss to dinner, cafeteria 15l was best choice we all enjoyed the meal very much. I love the relaxed feel of this place – like a comfortable dining room in a friends home. I definitely would return to try more. The corn chowder was super good an so was the salmon. The table was split on the rib eye– one person thought it was great, but another felt that the tastes didn't quite mesh. Everyone loved the Dessert options . Service was well-timed and friendly, wines were affordable."
We were in town for the weekend and Cafeteria 15L was not far from our hotel. We ended up having dinner there on Friday night. The roasted chicken was perfect. We enjoyed are meals so much that we decided to try their Sunday Brunch. The skillets were delicious. We all left with smiles, great service and yummy food, what more could you want! We will be back.
Our reservations were for 6:30 p.m. and we were seated promptly. There was a nice variety on the menu. The beet salad could be a little larger but the taste was great. My sister is vegetarian and she had some good choices. We were going to a show at the Community Theatre so the location and very reasonable valet makes it perfect.
The place was big and open and the inside merges with the outdoors. We showed up right after a very large party (school perhaps) which I guess were able to handle quickly. We had a reservation and they took us in quickly. We ordered off the brunch menu and was very good. I ordered a single serving mimosa (not bottomless) and it was strong, which I enjoyed. It was fairly loud and the guest seemed to be enjoying themselves. More rowdy then quiet, but I don’t mind.
My wife and I went for a date Brunch. The day was lovely so we sat outside in the patio, service was attentive, food was not special but perfectly good brunch food, prices were not cheap but not high either. We enjoyed our visit and would both recommend it to others and go back again.
If you want a good piece of beef, this is not the place for you. My husband had the rib eye. It was cooked as ordered to medium rare but that was as good as it got. The meat was very tough. I had the braised short rib. Not fall of the bone tender. Again, another piece of tough meat.
Our server was great! Attentive but not bothersome. Maybe other items on the menu are worth a try but if you want a good steak go elsewhere.
My favorite restaurant in Sacramento! Every dish is as tasty as the next. Have not been disappointed by any of the meals I've gotten and the customer service is great! Our server noticed we were quite hungover and he helped us out with our recovery. Strongly recommend!
Although the food was amazing and the atmosphere of Cafeteria was great the service was a little bit on the slower side considering it wasn’t extremely busy. Our waitress was pleasant however between the course of our dinner I wondered and tried to wave her down four times. Our waitress grabbed waters to our table took our orders and disappeared for about 20 mins in between that time the second half of my party arrived we sat waiting for her to take their orders she eventually did. In the course of our almost two hour dinner she never came to fill our waters or check up on us once. I’m not one to complain but when we received our bill an automatic service charge for tip was added and I only had a group of 6. Go figures why she didn’t bother to check up on us she was getting tipped automatically.
Had reservations at 8:30pm, waited almost 30mins to get seated. Table was really crowded for 8 people. But that was fixed upon request. A bit Inconvenient when I had to chaperone our underage kids to the bathroom (while they hold unto my ID) Due to the restaurant turning into a lounge/ club after late hours, they didn’t want kids wandering around I guess. Food was ok, our waiter was nice.
Everything was great until it came time to use the restroom. The hostesses and servers failed to mention that this restaurant turns into a Club after 10 pm, and if you need to use the restroom, you MUST leave your ID with a bouncer before being granted access to the toilets. As a restaurant patron, I found this to be totally unacceptable and a quite an inconvenience. Either the staff needs to be up front about their protocol, or they should allow restaurant patrons to bypass this process. This is certainly NOT the way anyone should end an otherwise good dining experience.
We love to come here for delicious beautifully presented food. I think it strikes a perfect balance between comfort and fine dining. My husband loves the fish and chips, and chicken and waffles. The ahi poke salad is fresh and flavorful. I had the shrimp scampi over pasta this time, and it was perfect: scampi was firm, fresh, tender, not rubbery. Sauce wasn't too heavy, but still wonderfully buttery and lemony. The pasta was just right: toothsome, not mushy. And our dessert was so so so good: smores brownie. All I can say is yum. Thanks for another great meal. We'll be back!
So bad. Food came out in about 3-4 min, meaning it was pre cooked and you could tell. You can never trust food that comes out that fast. We were right to be skeptical. The pork chop was tough, dry, overcooked (from sitting under a warmer too long I’m guessing), & bland. The salmon salad was bland and disgusting with cold shredded salmon that looked like it could have come from a can. Salmon salad should have a nicely fresh cooked (and warm) piece of salmon fillet rested on top. The wine suggested to pair was one of the worst wines I’ve tasted in my life. Kim Crawford: all grapefruit and harsh, no complexity, no enjoyable flavor, which just made me sick when I tasted it so I couldn’t enjoy it instead of the salad. The waiter, Bill, was gracious and kind and brought me the tomato soup instead, which had a great flavor but unfortunately was topped with extremely bitter parsley (like parsley that shouldn’t even be harvested anymore because it’s passed its harvest season). Besides that, if you want to top tomato soup with something, you choose a dollop of creme fraiche and fresh basil. The coffee was terribly bitter and cheap tasting and poured unevenly between the three that ordered it. The tiny and what looked like prebaked crusted banana cream pie was buried underneath a mountain of whipped cream so it had to be unearthed to eat. I’m not kidding. The pie was about an inch tall with six inches of whip cream mountain. So gross. To top it off, we were seated in what felt like the overflow room at basically a card table and folding chairs (while we watched a party be set up in the adjoining rental space with their bright photo area light shining in my eyes all night) despite making reservations over a month in advance. Also, no toilet paper in the restroom 5pm on a Saturday night. Why did we come here? Never again.
