Café Zola is an independently owned and operated restaurant serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner in downtown Ann Arbor. Our menus are inspired by flavors and recipes borrowed from European and Mediterranean cultures and cuisine, including some Turkish recipes. We are committed to sourcing the freshest and highest quality ingredients available and supporting local businesses, farms, and suppliers. Café Zola’s seasonal menus emphasize organic and local produce, dairy, eggs, poultry, meat and seafood. Our full service bar features artisanal cocktails, happy hour specials, and a rotating wine selection chosen from various small production vineyards throughout the world.

    Our reservation was for 8pm. We waited in line for 20 minutes just to say we had arrived for our reservation. The place was clearly very understaffed. We left because of how they handled the situation (no acknowledgment that we, and others, were waiting in line with reservations) and we doubted we would be timely served. Food is supposed to be good, but they could not handle a busy Saturday night.

    The service was rude and not accommodating. The kitchen was running late and instead of being friendly about it, the bartenders were rude and not helpful. We ended up leaving as it was clear they did not want our business.

    They don’t mix the veggies and meat with the egg of the omelet. So everything inside the omelet flap is loose and falls out. Had to ask for the bread I ordered. Never got the orange juice I ordered. Seems like they were short on staff and rethink how to make an omelette.

    I have been to Cafe Zola many times and always have had a good experience, except for this time. Firstly, they said they didn't have my reservation. I had confirmed it the previous day and then on Friday morning I had a missed call from Cafe Zola. We ended up sitting at the bar, because the restaurant was so crowded and we didn't want to wait. Secondly, the food took forever .We ordered an appetizer immediately and then drinks. It took 1 hour and 20 minutes to get our appetizer and then another 30 minutes or more to get our dinner. The pasta I had was delicious but also, I was starving. They need either more staff or a bigger kitchen to accommodate all of the extra outdoor seating they had. Our bartender did everything she could to get our food, but all she could do was check with the kitchen. Our neighbors at the bar had the same experience. i know it was a football weekend in Ann Arbor, but they were totally unprepared for the crowd.

    Best service, delicious wine, crab cakes were some of the best I’ve had, and the mussels were amazing. Love Zola!

    We waited for over 30 minutes to have the waitress first approach the table and I had to flag her down to tell her we were ready to order. Waited another 30 minutes to get food. Steak sandwich was almost raw. Pancakes were good. Frittata was inedible. Other meal was just ok. When we complained the supervisor apologized and said he would give us a discount. Then was overruled as “it was a normal wait” for breakfast. Won’t come here again. Plenty of better places to eat. Checked the reviews after and this is pretty much their MO.

    This was my third visit to cafe Zola and unfortunately it missed the mark once again. The service is slow and staff is not particularly friendly or helpful. The food is just okay and overpriced for what you get. There are better options in Ann Arbor for both brunch and dinner.

    Great restaurant and delicious food. Wait staff were very busy. Visited our table 1 time after food delivery and then 35 minutes later our table and another had to track her down for bill.

    The service was very slow. In addition, we were the only diners in the inside restaurant, and the hostess sat a table full of very young children and parents right next to us. The tables were very close and we couldn’t hear our conversation and the little ones were so rambunctious and knocking into our chairs.
