before we went to the restaurant, we noticed online that the restaurant was no longer
open and was moving. Open Table did not even let us know. luckily we saw this before
we left. I tried to call the restaurant but the phone just had a busy signal with no answer.
open table should be aware of restaurant closures and let people with reservations know this.
Shame on Open Table. We have loved this restaurant, made a reservation for a birthday celebration, and arrived to find the restaurant closed and the contents liquidated. NO ONE CALLED. Luckily we contacted another restaurant who accommodated the party and we moved that location, albeit having a much later celebration that night. Someone should have called to let us know that the restaurant was no more and Open Table should have known this... Makes me question how well you stay in touch with your restaurants. Now you contact me to have me rate this closed restaurant. Please get your act together.
My meal was delicious. I had the asparagus and quinoa egg dish along with a mimosa and coffee. The staff were great and the ambiance was lovely. There is art and plants all over the patio where we sat and it was like a secret garden of sorts. The three other people also enjoyed their dishes and the atmosphere. Cafe Verona is really was a hidden gem.
neighborhood gem, pretty inside, diverse menu, great atmosphere & delicious food
We had a late lunch on a Friday afternoon. The restaurant was quiet, the service was great, and the food was delicious. A little gem of a place.
Pleasantly mediocre overall. It was a pre-fixe menu so maybe its better with more options. Asparagus soup was amazing though. Service was nice. Probably would have enjoyed the ambiance more without the cheesy Valentine's roses. There Chianti Classico was too mild for my taste. Dessert was nice enough.
We had the price fixed Valentine’s Day menu. It was delicious and such a good value.
Valentine's Day dinner was OK. Definitely not great. Service was fine -- just fine. The food was a 5/10 maybe a 4 -- too expensive for what it was. But then again you pay extra to go out on V-Day I guess -- wasn't good enough to warrant me coming back to try it again though.
The food was pretty disappointing, and the server was nice enough but little things added up (like I had to ask for water multiple times and didn't get it through halfway through the meal). She was the only server on the floor so I understand but a mixture of that and the food being very disappointing, I definitely won't be returning. The ambiance was nice however and I'm sure on a busier day/night the server's standards would be higher.
The waitress kept interrupting our conversation. Why can’t some servers understand that there is no need to cut off a conversation to ask “how is everything?” Especially when they are obviously in a serious conversation. The customer will let the server know if they are needed; with this waitress it got to the point of being irritating and incompetent. Great food though!
The food was no bad, but not really outstanding. The Carbonara e.g. had too much oil and hardly any egg in it. The seating inside is extremely cramped.
Great restaurant with outstanding and delicious food.
the staff was very rude, especially the manager who was making snarky comments about my table and friends while serving other customers. the food was alright, however very overpriced. at the end of the night, the staff was “confused” about the tab and one of my friends ended up paying $60 for a $22 meal. she still has not received her money back or seen anything in her bank statement. i don’t recommend this restaurant due to their unorganized behavior.
This place is a real find. I probably should have given it 5 stars! We had burgers this time - probably the best burgers we ever had and they are made from grass fed Wagyu beef. The pasta dishes also looked wonderful as they came out to other tables. The atmosphere is wonderful - like stepping into a little garden cafe in Rome. We liked the background music they had very much - sort of International, indie/easy listening. The eating area is cozy and intimate and soft in sound. This was our first time and we feel we really found a great neighborhood place to eat out.
Christmas Day lunch at around 1pm. Excellent food, however, service was lacking. Mimosas served in a regular glass when we saw flutes available. The check was brought to us without us asking for it, therefore, we felt rushed. Waitress dis not even ask if we wanted another glass of wine, much less if we wanted dessert or coffee. Although food was good, service was mediocre and needs to improve.
Cafe Verona has good food at affordable prices and polite, attentive service. Despite this, I left feeling like the restaurant is a bit of a missed opportunity. Certain touches that you would normally expect at an Italian restaurant, such as bread or even after dinner drinks, aren’t there and it contributes to a lack of authenticity. I was hoping it would be an authentic Italian experience, or conversely, a unique take on Italian food. Cafe Verona is somewhere in no mans land between the two. Overall, I liked the food, but I feel like Cafe Verona falls frustratingly short of its potential.
The food was excellent, service was great. This was my first time at this restaurant and it's really quite charming and reasonable.
My time there was very welcoming and great service. very comfortable stay and privacy you had there for yourself and partner. the food was enjoyable and fancy making.
This was our first time here and we all had a lovely time. We needed to eat near the theater & this was convenient. The atmosphere is unique and charming in an enclosed patio, and we were comfortable even though it was nasty weather outside. Service was efficient but warm and friendly--reason enough to return. The food was good and reasonable, but consider asking for sauces on the side if you are not a fan of creamy and rich.
Always love this hidden gem, food is extremely fresh and has a small biz vibe. Also really enjoyed their delicious desserts
The restaurant is nice and quiet. The service is good. Unfortunately the food is not good. We were very disappointed : no flavor, halibut was overcooked, the salmon was burned, poorly served on the plate ...
I went for a date on Sunday evening, food was delicious, the service was exceptional, everyone was so attentive, great location, love the environment, beautiful place, was an amazing experience.
Definitely i would recommend this place.
So sad this place closed. It was the best Italian in area!
Food was excellent! Service a little too slow for us California natives though. I’d still go there again but might ask for a different table.
Incredible hidden gem, I love this place! Despite being on a busy street it's a very romantic setting and the service was outstanding. They even have gluten free pasta! Even the salads were delicious, and pasta dishes were very reasonably priced and included a generous portion of protein, definitely coming back here again.
Great place - super romantic
Great casual brunch
Nice neighborhood restaurant that was recommended by our airbnb hosts close by - and rightly so. Very friendly and helpful service that helped to accommodate special dietary needs. During the warm season, the patio seating towards the more quiet side street is a nice plus. Also, easy parking after 7 p.m.
Always a great experience. The food is great, the presentation is wonderful and the price fair.
friendly staff, convenient, comfortable ambience, very good food!
It was quiet and not busy for a Friday, perhaps it’s was due to the 4th of July holiday and many locals were out of town. Parking was in the rear of the restaurant for convenience. The rustic outdoor seating was wonderful, with the gentle trickle of the waterfall to soothe the experience. But the food was phenomenal! The Chicken Verona w side polenta was full of flavor. I can’t wait to return and try more offerings on the menu, especially during brunch.
We came to Cafe Verona to celebrate my birthday and had a wonderful time! I have a sensitivity to gluten and they had gluten free pasta on the menu. The food was delicious and the ambience was great! We had a group of 8 and there was plenty of space for us, we didn't feel cramped or stuck in a corner. The menu was affordably priced and there were no complaints about the food. It was really good and plenty of a portion. Overall, we had a wonderful time and would definitely come back.
My bf and I had the special. It was delicious. He had lobster ravioli and I had a truffle/mushroom ravioli. Had good wine selection. Perfect date night.
I took a friend to Cafe Verona for a special birthday and was shocked at the shabby ambience, particularly evident during the lunch hour. The chairs appeared worn and the menus we were given had food stains. I was very embarrassed. This place needs updating ASAP! The food was decent, but I doubt I'll be returning soon.
Great food as always and outstanding service. Worth a visit if you like Italian food.
If they run out of gluten free pasta it is not an issue they go out and get more.
We were a party of 6 and had excellent service by Matt. He was attentive and knowledgeable and a pleasure to have wait on us. The food was excellent. We will definitely be back.
Awesome food and friendly staff
I really wanted to like these guys - but sadly, we won’t be going back. Coffee was good. Menu was great but food was inedible. They were very nice but service was non existent and chairs were rickety and uncomfortable. So sad.
