Cafe Un Deux Trois
We were and still are frequented by American and European theater and film actors, as well as politicians, directors, local New Yorkers and tourists from around the world. You will find many a Broadway cast and crew member hanging out after the show on any given night.
We recently had a facelift featuring enormous windows and a new color scheme.
The food while still classic bistro fare has expanded to include a variety of sandwiches, hamburgers and an extensive breakfast.
We have also added a selection of savory and sweet crepes to our dining choices.

On Sunday, September 15, 2019, I brought my wife, Katherine Alleyne-Harris and myself to the Cafe Un Deux Trois celebrate Kathy’s birthday.
We had a wonderful time at the Cafe Un Deux Trois!!! Both my wife and I enjoyed the restaurant’s quiet atmosphere and found our meals to be well seasoned and delicious!!!
Credit should be given to the wonderful service provided by our waiter, Jose Brito and for their performance when singing Happy Birthday to Kathy!!!
My wife and I enjoyed our dining experience at Cafe Un Deux and recommend that other patrons visit this fabulous French cuisine!!!
Delicious omelette, wonderful brunch; we’ll be back!
My friend had Nutella crepes and said they were delicious. I ordered the 2 egg breakfast with poached eggs, home fries, toast and bacon. One egg was perfect, one was slightly well done. I would recommend adding a cooking temp to your order if you want less than well done eggs. The ambiance is very old world, the staff was friendly, and service was pretty fast for Times Square. I also had a Bloody Mary which I would skip next time. A little meh. The mimosas looked perfect... wished I had gone that route instead :). Overall, great find. Super cute and was not too busy. Ps- bathroom is in the lower level down a steep flight of stairs. Pretty common for that area of NYC. Beware if you are traveling with anyone that can’t handle stairs.
If we have one restaurant in the world that we think of as “ours”, this is it. We e been coming to Cafe Un Deux Trois about 30 years. We don’t get there often now because we no longer live in the greater NYC area, but every we’re in NYC we have dinner here. We have never been disappointed and this time was no exception.
Great for pre-theater
We stopped by for drinks and dinner before a show at Town Hall. We came early so we wouldn’t be rushed.
Our waiter was fabulous! He asked us the time of the show, and assured us that all would be on time. He was fun and gave us great, timely service.
We enjoyed our meal as always. When we go to the theater the Cafe is our go to restaurant.
Wonderful evening enjoyed by all!
We chose the fixed menu and it was perfect. Salad, grilled Salmon, NY Cheese cake and coffee. Value was excellent.
Great time as usual...food was great, service excellent.
a great place for lunch before the theater -- conveniently located, good food and great service.
Perfect for lunch before a play. My friend enjoyed the vegetarian crepe and I
thought the Lobster roll was outstanding (and should be permanently on the
menu not just as a special). Service was excellent but never felt rushed.
Our food was really quite solid - almost surprisingly so. No creative flourishes but that’s ok - it was well seasoned and prepared for what it is. Would go again.
always consistent. right around the corner from my office. we go here for breakfast and lunch often. food is always good and staff attentive.
Great food and great waiter
Great food, great ambiance, great service!
The food was excellent, the "Old French" ambiance is charming, and the waitstaff were pleasant but a little inattentive and forgetful. The owners need to make the restrooms ADA accessible!
Server was lovely but we did have to flag her down for.more.water and another glass of.wine. nice to sit by the window so not as loud and fun to people watch.
This is a great lunch place pre theatre. A little pricey, but it works for me.
Very nice service and meal. Atmosphere was perfect and the cafe was two blocks from the show we were on our way to see.
I've been eating at Café Un Deux Trois for years. It's a great, unpretentious bistro in the Theater District that serves up excellent, unfussy food. When I worked in the neighborhood I frequently had lunch at the Un Deux Trois and brought many clients there. There were four of us for dinner on my last visit, three cousins, none of whom had ever eaten there before. Like me, they found the decor relaxing and fun (and especially commented on the old mosaic floor). The Caesar salad and Les Endives au Roquefort were hits at the table. The Poulet Roti and Boeuf Bourguignon were above average, but the favorite entrée was the Haricot de Mouton (braised lamb shank with a sauce of white beans, tomato, carrot and celery). We split three deserts: Crème Brûlée, Profiteroles, and Petit Fondant au Chocolat (flourless chocolate cake), and there wasn't a morsel left. The place is also open for breakfast and is fun after the theater, too. Would I come back? Count on it.
I am disabled and cannot use stairs. In order to use the bathroom, there is a flight of stairs. When I asked the manager he said to go next door to the hotel. The hotels bathroom also had stairs. Isn't there a law (American Disabilities Act) which requires accomodations for the disabled? I cannot recommend this restaurant.
We were celebrating our anniversary with dinner and a show. Our service and food were very good. This is always a very good place to eat before going to the theater.
I took my family for a pre theater dinner as the restaurant was within walking distance. We had a fantastic meal. The steak au poivre and mussels with fries, as we as the desserts were real standout choices. My wife had crepes which were also very good. Very authentic French food. Would recommend and would go back next time I’m in New York. Good choice if you want a pre theater meal.
Great for pre-theater. Food good and service attentive and fast.
A good pre-theater "eat-and-run". Boy are they fast. if you want a romantic moment don't order until you're over it. Very good.
Our waiter was excellent and very attentive but the food was just a bit above average. It was the perfect spot for a before theater meal, but not amazing food. Ambiance was good and the noise level was very tolerable for a very busy NYC restaurant. I would recommend the restaurant and return.
Classic place for us to have dessert after a show. All are excellent. Great atmosphere.
Pre theater staple for many years. Reliable spot.
Great for pre-theatre
Excellent food and service!
I took advantage of the Prix Fixe menu. Other than a less than impressive dessert, the food (salad, salmon and vegetables were well served, presented and flavoured. This restaurant was obviously catering to the Broadway Show crowd as it was quite busy. While the noise level did increase significantly, it did not take away from the adept and friendly service. I would definitely make another reservation based on the food, service and location.
It's a great restaurant. Great food and ambience. It is expensive - but it is in the theatre district - so this is no surprise. The only negative is the noise level. I could only hear the person next to me. I could not hear the person across the table from me.
My “go to” place pre-theater or for business meetings, Cafe Un Deux Trois never disappoints and my guests always commend the experience.
We eat here often before seeing a show, and the meal never disappoints! Delicious food and good service.
Nice setting, conveniently located for Broadway shows. Decent portions, especially for a French restaurant. Food was good, bread was really good! The service was good, too. A little too expensive for what it is, but that's NYC for you...
Thoroughly enjoyed our luncheon of crepes and coffee.
Delightful and consistent decade after decade. Hearty cuisine, atmospheric and good value.
Beautiful restaurant with efficient and friendly staff. Food options are many and this time we had steak frites and Peking duck sandwich. Both were excellent. Steps from most theaters. Get reservations for evening - very busy.
Great place to enjoy before a show! We had the prix fixe and thought it was a terrific way to start off an evening with friends.
Always a great choice for my 4-6 group lunch or dinners. Lively environment, great service, yummy food!
