Cafe Un Deux Trois
We were and still are frequented by American and European theater and film actors, as well as politicians, directors, local New Yorkers and tourists from around the world. You will find many a Broadway cast and crew member hanging out after the show on any given night.
We recently had a facelift featuring enormous windows and a new color scheme.
The food while still classic bistro fare has expanded to include a variety of sandwiches, hamburgers and an extensive breakfast.
We have also added a selection of savory and sweet crepes to our dining choices.

I had a quiche. I found it small for the cost. It was just ok, nothing special. It was noisy and the waiter was good but he was assigned too many tables to be as attentive as needed.
Very good service.
One of our favorite places for pre-show dinner with the family.
We had a wonderful time at Cafe Un Deux Trois, celebrating the memory of a dear friend who passed away earlier this year whose favorite restaurant Cafe Un Deux Trois was. While the overall experience was rewarding, it was disappointing that our checks were rung up on the wrong credit cards and then were charged a second time rather than correcting the balance on the system. Bank holds are annoying, so this was a frustrating mistake. Delicious food, mostly excellent service.
Our server, (Michael) was sensitive, sassy ansmd spot-on (as usual)! Thank you for the special consideration re. Creme Brulee!! It is still one of the best!
Food, drinks and service were great. Will definitely go back.
Always a theatre district treat. Since 1978, one of the most pleasant places to spend time with out-of-town and local friends — feels like a private club. Always meet fascinating people, too. We could use more restaurants like yours in NYC. An affordable Balthazar.
Everything was perfect for our birthday celebration. Service and food were excellent and a wonderful time was had by all.
Nice ambiance, festive, food is mediocre - especially the Caesar salad. I swear it just comes out of a bag with the croutons out of a box.
While the food was very good, the service was poor - we got there early (11:30) for lunch and had to repeatedly flag down our server. The ladies bathroom was dirty and disgusting. I would not go back to this restaurant.
Took my three grandchildren for lunch before a matinee. Great children's menu. Nice selection on the menu for adults. The location is great for theater.I always love anything Frech
Enjoyable experience - food was great, service was impeccable.
We were looking for a good restaurant in the theatre district and this was perfect. Very noisy but food was good and authentically French (except the frites).
Outrageous food and service
This place always delivers. Great French standards line steak au poive and crem brûlée in a fun and bustling environment
Met the owner this time who was as fun as you’d expect. Service is amazing. Wine list is very good!
It’s a tradition for our family to eat here before a show in NYC. We look forward to Un Deux Trois as much as we anticipate the show!
Cafe Un Deux Trois has been our go to in the Time Square area for over 20 years. My daughter was looking forward to their delicious steak tartare. Their French onion soup is fabulous. I love the escargot and mussels. My husband loves their burger. We have never had a bad meal there.
The food was excellent and the restaurant is attractively decorated. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to friends. Great place for a meal before theatre. Prix Fixe option is a great value. Try the NY Cheesecake for dessert. Also Chicken Cordon Bleu was great!
The good news was that we arrived early and the staff was very kind about seating us despite the fact that the restaurant was crowded. We were seating in a cozy booth that was perfect for our group that included two young, but very well mannered, children. The waiter was accommodating to special food needs, but when on child was unable to open the mussels he ordered -- they were very dry and hard to open and dig out -- and his father asked for a hamburger instead -- the hamburger did not arrive until everyone else was long finished with their meal. And my Bloody Mary did not arrive until after our main course was on the table. It just seemed scattershot. I also missed the butcher paper table cloths with crayons that they used to have, which was my reason for suggesting it as a place to take children. We had a great time anyway because of the fun of being with great people, but it was in spite of the service not because of it.
Excellent choice for breakfast. Nice atmosphere, delicious food, and reasonably priced.
Very noisy room made a conversation of 5 impossible. Food & service were very good.
This was our second visit to Care Un Deux Trois, and again had a great experience. Both times we have chosen the restaurant because it is directly next door to the Belasco and Hudson Theatres, but would seek it out even if we weren't seeing a play at one of these theatres. Food and service are outstanding. Highly recommend this restaurant.
Everything was great except that the 2 Salad Nicoise we ordered werer missing several ingredients: that were listed on the menu. We sent the waiter back to the kitchen to fetch them... The coffee is outstanding. For a party of 7 , we had no other complaints, the wait staff were attentive and very friendly . We were pre matinee theater, made our show with relaxed time to spare. We will return. Be sure to park at the Hippodrome lot across the street. $28. 12 hrs, what a deal!
This is a NYC classic. Sophisticated but not stuffy - theatre friendly - with celebrities dining before their half hour or after the show, but, in best NY fashion, no one bothers them. Food fine, service friendly and swift - it's a great NYC spot. Only pray that it can stay -- this is a part of our lives.
The food here could be a bit more... Good French, but this is a very convenient pre-theatre venue, and very good for last minute reservations, tables are usually available. It's also a pleasantly bustling place with the ambiance of a vintage workingman's Parisian eatery a la Chartrier, if not quite up to the quality of the cuisine.
my daughter and i had an 8 pm broadway show. when we arrived at un deus trots, we were immediately asked about our schedule and were accommodated accordingly. we had a relatively quiet table back in the corner. our waiter was excellent and attentive as were the runners. the food, for such a high volume restaurant, was surprisingly good. all in all, a great experience .
Cafe Un Deux Trois is simply a fun place to meet with friends, have attentive service and pretty good food. The noise level is high - which means you can laugh out loud and not bother anyone. It is a happy place. I like to go here pre-theatre. Try the tarte tatin for dessert - or the nutella crepe!
I would certainly make it my business to return. Everything was terrific, food, service, value, location
to parking and theater. I highly recommend it for all the reasons stated.
It was my Mom’s birthday and I was hoping to enjoy a delicious French breakfast with my parents here. Unfortunately, it was a disappointing experience. Service was unfriendly and not attentive even though the restaurant was pretty much empty. The taste and quality of food were not great. Once they heard that we spoke a foreign language they added an automatic 15% tip to our bill! It was a table of 3 people and I have lived in the U.S. for over a decade now. I felt discriminated against. Very disappointing.
Awesome food as always but so loud we couldn’t have a conversation.
the food and service was great. The noise level was very high. had the cheese platter. my wife and i enjoyed the cheese. for the price, the variety of cheese was a little skimpy. my ordered the pate and had the peking duck sandwich. she enjoyed both of them. i had the calfs liver and liked it very much
Food was prepared and presented excellently. And it was delicious.
Always a good reliable meal at the French Bistro. Good value and services a nice free prix menu before theater.
The waiter asked if we were planning on attending a show and when we said yes, he announced there was plenty of time, which we knew. But then he disappeared for long periods of time - also he seemed upset when we didnt order appetizers. After the entree, he disappeared again after leaving us with the dessert menu - we would have ordered but gave up.
Good food and ambiance. Service was excellent. Definitely have dessert.
We had theater tickets and they get you out on time. Very accommodating staff.
Haven't been here for awhile. It was a nice surprise. I met friends who insistedt on i, even though I had had bad experiences in the past. It was once tired, dingy and the staff was less than stellar. I also had food spilled on me by a waiter who hardly apologized.
This time around, it was the same place, but it seemed cleaner, brighter and fresher. The server was excellent and the food quite good. I will now add it to my list of theatre restaurants to recommend to my out of town guests, as well as visit it more often myself.
Great lunch spot.
My go-to place for pre matinee lunch.
Shrimp Caesar salad is delish. Great coffee.
Very nice service, food was ok extremely noisy before theatre... after 8pm it was ok
