Cafe Un Deux Trois
We were and still are frequented by American and European theater and film actors, as well as politicians, directors, local New Yorkers and tourists from around the world. You will find many a Broadway cast and crew member hanging out after the show on any given night.
We recently had a facelift featuring enormous windows and a new color scheme.
The food while still classic bistro fare has expanded to include a variety of sandwiches, hamburgers and an extensive breakfast.
We have also added a selection of savory and sweet crepes to our dining choices.

Breakfast was fantastic. Great food. Great ambiance. Would definitely go back again.
Lovely pre-theater brunch. Terrific service that was quick (waiter knew we had tickets to a matinee) but did not feel rushed. Food was delicious, particularly the onion soup and the profiteroles. A very good option in the Times Square neighborhood.
Wonderful brunch menu. A very popular place. Was so pleased to get a reservation on short notice. Our waiter was exceptional. He took very seriously the fact that we were heading to a matinee after brunch, and made sure our meals and then the bill arrived on time. I would definitely recommend this bistro in the heart of the theater district in NYC.
Wait staff needs some work with. You know it's not a Meyers restaurant by the lack of positivity and gruffness. Then the food is mediocre at best! But of course none of this matters because the location keeps it open for tourists and locals like me, needing to get to a theater.
Their crepes are delicious! Enjoyed the salmon one. They are all served a side salad dressed in a light oil/vinegar dressing. Service is very attentive. Lively atmosphere. Great place for brunch before a matinee.
Wait staff was excellent, food was very good,
Good brunch options including a drink. Perfect for a meal before a show
Always dependable. Pleasant staff. Pre theatre go to. Amazing mussels.
OVERRATED, OVERPRICED AND UNDER-GOOD! I hadn't been to Un Deux Trois in several years and was excited to enjoy a great pre-concert meal with my Wife for Valentine's Day. It was a rocky start when it took our waiter 10 minutes to come back with a bar menu. We ordered dinner and drinks at the same time...and our appetizers came before the cocktail and wine. My Wife's calamari was soggy and lukewarm and my beef barley soup could easily have come out of a Campbell's can. Entrees were served too quickly, before we had even finished the apps, so they had to bring them back to the kitchen to be kept warm. I had ordered a prix fixe dinner which came with a pretty good [not great, by any means] Farfalle Maison. My Wife ordered Garlic Shrimp with "very light garlic," which came as 6 medium-sized shrimp LOADED with and reeking of garlic. Even the carrots on the plate were so garlicky as to be inedible. The coup de grace was a chocolate mousse that was more like Jell-O pudding with Cool Whip.
We are really not food snobs, but for $175 [before tip] I expect a pretty damned good meal. My suggestion: Eat ANYWHERE else in the Theater District.
I was with some friends from out of town. Dudnt appreciate the rushed service!
Very attentive waiters
Good for pre-theater dinner. Efficient service, very good food. My only complaint is that tables are very close together and the decor looks a little tired.
Next door to our theatre which prompted the choice
Of course we came for pre-theater dinner. The bar was wonderful to sit and relax beforehand and the bartender was very informed re: wines.
We wanted "as quiet" a table as possible - and a corner table at the back right was definitely the place to sit. Our waitress was attentive and very sparkly personality
The escargot were a bit tough and the butter sauce a little salty but still fine. Our food was really quite good - especially the warm chocolate cake
I'd say it's a wonderful close good-value with higher food standards than expected - good selections.
Had a wonderful dinner with friends here before the show. The menu has something for everyone and the service was outstanding.
Always perfect for pre or after theatre!
Seating was nicely spaced apart from other tables, food was good but entree got lost, took too long to arrive even though ordered the daily price fix
I had a delicious spinach and mushroom crepe, pre theater matinee. As always, the ambiance, service and food were perfect.
This is my pre-theatre go to. The service is always great and the food ranges from reliable to delicious. I love the buzz and the slight echo in the room. Go after theatre and you may bump into some of the people in and around your play.
It was recommended to us as a good place for per-theater and it was. My wife said her salmon was cooked perfectly and I had the Peking Duck sandwich, which was unusual and delicious. Plus they were very quick with the waiter knowing just what to do.
Great food at a very reasonable price. Great prix fixe options too
This is one of my go-to places for pre or post theatre. I really like the menu here...many good bistro style dishes that I love. On my most recent visit for lunch I had a delicious endive and blue cheese salad and a terrific pate with cornichns. The wine list is reasonable with some nice offerings by the glass. Service is efficient and friendly. Never any worry about making a curtain time. They’ve been around a lot of years - know what they’re doing.
Lamb burgers, pate, roasted chicken all good. Frites were lackluster. Wine selections good but pricey. Atmosphere is typical Parisian bistro style, so a fun place to go before or after theater.
Went to pre-matinee brunch. Had the pre fixe brunch that included Mimosa, omelet and fries and coffee. All was delicious. Added the Cafe Gourmand dessert sampler — chocolate mousse, creme brûlée and macarons to have with my coffee. Service was wonderful.
My husband and I went here for brunch on February 9. The food was so delicious and it was such a wonderful dining experience, we went back for brunch again the next day. The first day, we had the Omelet and the Quiche Lorraine. The next day we had the Eggs Norwegian and Croque Madame. Everything was outstanding. Exceptional dishes prepared perfectly with the finest ingredients. And wonderful coffee too! Lovely atmosphere too reminiscent of Europe. We'll definitely dine here again.
The food is absolutely delicious and price is reasonable. We did find it hard to hear due to the noise level.
I loved this place and will definitely be back! The food was exceptional, I had the Croque Monsieur and it was outstanding, the lady finger dessert was to die for!
Excellent. Good options
The food and wine selections were WONDERFUL.
The place was so noisy we could not have a good conversation and the tables are extremely close to each other. It was difficult to even get seated without moving the tables!!!
We were there before theater calls so as we were leaving the room seemed more appealing.
We had tasty salads during the pre theatre hour. Ordering took a while but when we mentioned we had tickets all went well
Pre-theater dinner. Perfect pacing of meal and nice entrees for the price. Will definitely be back.
A wonderful French restaurant in the heart of the Theatre district! From the service to the food an fabulous experience!
I have been to this restaurant a number of times before. It is very good service and food. Perfect for a satisfying quick meal before a show.
Lovely service, great atmosphere, but the food was uninspired and relatively overpriced.
Our waiter was very nice and service was very good. However, although he knew we were going to theater, it took forever to get check and get our credit card slip back, while he was tending to other tables who did not seem to be in a rush. Theater goers should always be given extra attention. But its still a great restaurant which I would recommend.
I was so disappointed in the noise level that I could hardly taste my food. Since I wanted to chat with my guest, this was a meal killer. He had an expensive salmon dinner that was ladies' lunch sized. My hamburger platter was just okay. We passed on dessert just to escape the noise. Did I mention the tables were so close together that 2 people had to get up to let me out.
Had a very nice efficient waitress and food was good.
I love this restaurant! The food is very good and it has a nice hustle-bustle atmosphere which is very New York. Our server was good, although he was overloaded with table responsibilities.
This place is a favorite for me!
Cafe Un Deux Trois is my "go to" restaurant before a show. Location is perfect. The food is good, 'though far from the best in New York. The service is quick and the pretheater menu offers some good choices. Add a glass of wine and you're good to go.
The hotel I stay in when I'm in NYC is just around the corner from this great restaurant and I eat here several times a year. The food is good, the service is friendly, the atmosphere is pleasant, and the prices are reasonable. It's a nice quiet get-away from the hustle and bustle of Times Square.
