Excellent food, reliable classic cuisine
This has always been an excellent option for pre-theater. It's affordable and the food is good. The staff was lovely and accommodating. Definitely a good value.
My first time back in years and was so glad to find it again!
Our pre-theater meal was delicious and really reasonably priced. The waitstaff was friendly and efficient. I’ll be back on my next trip for sure. Loved it!!!
The only problem with this restaurant is the noise level. When it is crowded it is hard to hear the person sitting next to you.
Taking our 10 and 12 year old granddaughters to dinner before seeing The Lion King
The drinks cost almost the same as the main courses! $18.00 for a martini and $17.00 for a glass of red wine.
Good food. Good service. Great moules
Great french food.upbeat fast service.excellent attention to detail. Perfect for before or after the theatre.
This was a great spot for pre-matinee lunch. The only drawback was it was very loud. Hard to hear people at our table.
We very much enjoyed our breakfast at Un Deux Trois on Sun.4.15. Service was friendly, timely and informed. Ambiance of restaurant was what I like - casual , easy to converse with tasty food options at a good price. We will come again!
I had the French toast... it was delicious and reasonably priced. Would definitely return!
Very convenient for pre or post theatre casual French style food.
A perfect pre or post theater choice. This has a constant success for us as a pre-theater stalwart. The bistro atmosphere has been maintained throughout all the years I have been coming here. The steak tartare remains at a level other bistros only try to reach, usually unsuccessfully. Sevice, ambience and efficieny remain exceptional. I continue to reccomend it wholeheartedly.
Excellent food and service
Wonderfully prepared food and great service. Well paced and relaxed. Good value.
Comfortable is the very least I can say about Cafe Un Deux Trois. When the waiter asks if he can stand on the bench next to your table to write the specials on the glass wall you know it's like home. We have eaten here many times and never had a bad meal. The portions are just right. WE especially enjoy the grilled steak, the lamb shank, the beef bourginon, and the chicken cordon bleu. The staff is friendly, professional and always helpful. You can't go wrong here.
Been here many times. Noisy pre-theater and then it quiets down. Normally good service but this time they forgot us after the drinks, never brought bread, had to ask for a waiter to take our order after 20 minutes. Wait staff was polite and helpful though and the first course arrived promptly once they remembered that we were there.
A great find for lunch! If you’re heading to the theater you’ll get in and out quickly!!
I was extremely disappointed. I ordered the toast chicken and it was so over cooked I could not cut it with a sharp knife. It was inedible and the fries that came with it were cold and limp. I will not be going back.
A very average experience. The food was ok but the service was terrible. We had to ask 3 times for water, we had to describe how to make a cocktail to our waitress and they still got it wrong. Our waitress was obviously having a bad night and seemed very rushed and I even heard her muttering “Jesus Christ” under her breath as she walked past our table. We will not be returning.
This has clearly become a restaurant designed to attract tourists due to its proximity to the theater district. While the service was fine, the food was completely lacking in flavor and quality. We placed our order and the first course arrived within a couple of minutes. The same thing happened after they cleared the first course and then again for desert. This told us that the dishes were already prepared in the kitchen and were just sitting there waiting for someone to order them. The taste confirmed this theory. I would avoid going here as there are far better alternatives for about the same money.
Delicious Bistro fare in an inviting setting. Wonderful attentive service. Great wine list. Has never disappointed. A keeper through out the years.
As far as Times Square goes, this is definitely a decent place to grab brunch/lunch (perhaps dinner too, but we were there mid-day). The food is fine, it's only slightly overpriced (meaning, it's reasonable for Times Square), and the ambiance is friendly. The only downside was that the waitstaff was slow and completely unapologetic about it. After waiting 20 minutes for our drinks, we asked if they had been forgotten. She admitted "yes", but then did nothing to compensate (no free drink, dessert, even an "I'm really sorry"). So we didn't even start the meal until 30 minutes in. Our waters were filled about 45 minutes in after a few requests, and again, there was a little finger pointing on who owned that. Essentially, keep your expectations reasonable and you'll be totally fine.
We enjoyed a delicious pre-matinee meal at Un Deux Trois and will definitely be returning. The service was friendly and fast, our entrees arrived within minutes of having ordered them. My salmon crepes were delicious, salmon flaky and perfectly cooked. My wife's eggs benedict were a big hit with crunchy, flavorful shoe-string fries. We split the dessert sampled sipped some coffee and were out with plenty of time to catch our curtain. There's a reason this restaurant has been in business for 35 years. The food and service are top-notch.
Really great service, even though it was the pre-theatre rush.
We have dined at Cafe Un Deux Trois many times and we always enjoy the food and the service is usually excellent. However, our waiter was not up to their usual standards, which was disappointing and unexpected. Hopefully this will not be a trend of one of favorite stops in the City.
Solid bistro fare in a great environment. It's our go to place in the theater district.
One of our favorite places in NYC for a French American experience. The Steak Au Poivre is one of our favorites!
This is my go-to pre/post theatre restaurant. We are always welcomed by the staff and are made to feel welcome. The food is always reliable. The wine good... and service is designed to make sure you get to your show.... although they never rush you. Love this restaurant.
Nothing special. Not bad, just not good.
I always loving eating at Cafe Un Deux Trois. It has consistently good food and a wonderful ambiance and location.
I love to go to places that have been around a long time, which is true of Café Un Deux Trois. But while the service and food were good, I'm afraid it was to rushed, too loud, and most of the portions were just too small. We arrived with plenty of time for a relaxing pre-theatre meal, but our shared appetizer plate was whisked off the table before we finished it - without asking if we were done - and the entrees arrived faster than the speed of light. We had told our waiter that we were NOT in a rush. And price for value was way off kilter, but maybe that's based on location and we should know better. I still recommend it for those whose budgets have flexibility and want a rushed meal pre or post theatre. As for the ambience, it's a good place if you like to scream or maybe don't have much to say to each other. Bummer.
The service was very good and attentive. The menu seems to lean most towards a more simple menu than a great taste food. It felt to me the restaurant is great for a nice small bite in a very nice environment with friends but I would not recommend it if the purpose is diverse delicious French cuisine.
We love the crepes, the quick pre-theater service, and the fun atmosphere.
Great ambience and excellent food! What a lovely escape from the crowds of Times Square
Food was good. Michael, our waiter, was energetic and fun! He ensured our food came out quickly so we could catch our show.
Went for pre-theater dinner, and food was super-fast, but service was indifferent and brusque, and steak ordered well done arrived medium rare. Disappointing.
Been here for dinner three times in the last several months and each time is fantastic - - does not disappoint.
Greatest place in the area. Food always consistent. Ownership has made an extra effort to make this spot a keeper
Very good spot before the theater. Food is good, service is speedy and good value. One of our favorites
