Bad experience as they would not honor our reservation made via Open Table. Wont be coming back.
Loved the colorful décor and menu selection, just arriving in time ahead of a fairly busy Tuesday lunch crowd. We had a read a review from 2013 recommending the Turkish lentil soup. It was indeed tasty and warming for a cold winter day. The pita pocket durum sandwiches are filling with well-seasoned Doner Kebab meat. The eggplant moussaka durum was lighter but filled with a variety of vegetables.
Host had no knowledge of our reservation and said they don't even get emails from OpenTable anymore. My guess is they changed their address and never updated their profile.
Once seated, it took a good 15 minutes before anybody even came by to check on us. Service slightly improved once someone decided to take our table but still checked in infrequently. It was busy but they seemed to have plenty of staff to handle it.
Food was good though.
Cafe Turko is so delicious and reasonably priced with a fun atmosphere.
My boyfriend and I made a reservation for Friday night. When we arrived the hostess couldn't find our reservation and, even after I showed it to her on my phone, told us that we would have to wait behind five other couples. She was also rude, telling us that we should have made our reservation earlier so that it would have been easier for her to find. I've been here before and enjoyed the food so was disappointed by this experience. We left and went to a different restaurant.
The new location has nice lights & decorations but is noisy. Wait staff nice but took long time for orders to be taken- seemed overwhelmed . Food was good.
Really great food at very reasonable prices. Can’t say enough great things about this place. And, they provide Turkish cooking classes!!
Fantastic food! Service was a little slow but totally within reason given their popularity. We had reservations and called ahead because we ran late. They were very accommodating and easy to work with.
Delicious food and beautiful ambience. I will definitely be going back.
The food was amazing as always. The lamb is so good.
Our meals were good and the lamb was like a flaked roast that could use a little more flavor. We enjoyed the staff and location.
We went there for brunch and were very pleasantly surprised. There are lots of choices on the menu. We had lamb scramble and mother in law, both very delicious and plenty. The lemonade with sour cherry was really refreshing and tasty. Don't miss the desserts. Baklava was divine and so is Bird's Nest. Server was very friendly and efficient regardless how busy the place was - she provided just enough service at the right time.
Absolutely delicious! I enjoyed the blending of flavors and unique offerings! I will come back to try more offerings.
Love all the food!
Our 2nd time there. Everything was so delicious! Everything lamb is so good there.
Couldn't have been happier with the service, food quality/flavors/selection, and (in my meager opinion), authenticity of flavors and textures. I am going back next week!
Love the ambiance. Plenty of eclectic decor, always quiet and cozy when I come in. The food comes across as much more authentic than not (although I'm no expert). Vegetarian options very much hold their own (anything with eggplant in particular). In general, you tend to pay a little more for a little less.
We were very gelato have made reservations. The food accommodated various appetite and for restrictions. And, had all of us happy. Great celebration place.
Such a cute place, but the food was barely even decent. Waitress had an attitude which didn't help the experience. On the other hand, a replacement waiter was very attentive and apologetic. He, actually was the only great part of the experience. Really disappointed because it could be a very fun, hip place to eat otherwise.
Wonderful food. Wonderful decorations. A taste of Turkey next to the Fremont Troll!
This gem in the heart of a Seattle should not be missed. If the food and menu seems overwhelming just ask your server to create a meal for you! Love the food here
Although there's construction happening around it right now (Nov 2016), the cafe was really crowded on a weekday afternoon. No surprise though since the service and food are both excellent. I had a delicious salad with squash, pomegranate seeds, etc. My friend had a chicken sandwich which she enjoyed. Great place.
I love the new location, and it's patio. Great food and service.
Food was delicious! The owner was super nice. My family is from Turkey so the dining experience brought back fond memories.
Went to the place for a late lunch. Good variety in the menu and quick service. Food was delicious. Worth the drive to get there
Very nice restaurant with a lot of character and fun decoration. The service was great, as well as the food - will definitely go back for dinner!
The food and service is great, but be aware that they have no wine list (when my friend and I learned this, we went to a nearby shop to get a bottle of red wine). But not only do they not have wine, but they refused to provide glasses (when we asked) for our BYOB bottle because of the owner's religious scruples! So if you'd like wine with your dinner, it's best to choose another Turkish place.
Phenomenally tasty! Great for vegetarians too.
Delish food and lively atmosphere. The revani is to die for! Sage tea...delicate and just right for a warm afternoon.
Best Mediterranean food in the Seattle Metro.
Start with a Turkish tea and then make your way through the appetizers, entrees and deserts. Don't skip a dish or you will have remorse!
The Pistachio Baclava is the creamiest Baclava I've ever tasted. Enjoy
This is the third time we've been to the cafe. Love the food, and everyone we've ever dealt with has been great. One thing that especially appeals to me is that I need GF and it is wonderful to have such an extensive menu from which to choose. The only thing which was off that night, was the Turkish Coffee. It's been good all the rest of the time, and we are no strangers to it, but this time it was very chewy as if the grounds got poured with out enough liquid so they didn't settle out. Other than that we will be back...and bring friends.
The staff was friendly, personable and attentive. Our meal selections were all different yet fantastic. The lamb melted in your mouth and chicken was smoky. These dishes were exceptional, cauliflower and eggplant was tender and tasty, and the home made padit was amazing. We will be back again! Thanks
The atmosphere reminded me of my recent trip to Turkey. All the lamps hanging, plates against the wall and the Turkish tea!
Great Pides, i had the Karisik, or mixed, pide. Very great authentic taste. I'd recommend that on the dinner menu. Deserts looked very tempting, and i look forward to trying them. Also excited that they have a turkish breakfast menu and am excited to try the Menemen.
Amazing food
Wait staff wasn't the most attentive
The Turkish food here is great and the best of its kind in our region!
Our visit to Café Turko was an enjoyable experience. Many of the flavors and foods were familiar, because of the many Mediterranean restaurants available to us here in the northwest, but there were so many interesting riffs on those familiar dishes. Who knew that you could make hummus out of beets, spinach or yams? They were tasty and beautifully presented. Fun descriptions of dishes with playful names, made the menu interesting to read. We will be happy to return to this popular spot (be sure to get reservations!) and it doesn't hurt that desserts are complimentary for birthdays!
It really can feel like you're in Istanbul here. Perhaps a little too authentically for a typical Seattle foodie. The place is a jumble of,coffee, spices, trinkets ... and food. It is very Grand Bazaar.
Don't expect fancy. Don't expect alcohol (there is none). Do expect authentic, high quality Turkish dishes and very good service. You should get coffee.
I brought my boyfriend here for his birthday. When I made the reservation online, it asked if we had any food requests, so I asked if I could put in an order for a couple appetizers so they would be ready when we got there. If they couldn't accommodate that, it was totally understandable. But low and behold, a minute after we were seated our colorful appetizer was in front of us at our table. Our waitress was incredible and so attentive. I mentioned in our reservation notes that I was bringing my boyfriend here as a surprise and the waitress was so friendly to him and wished him a happy bday and everything. They also shut off the lights and did the whole surprise birthday dessert for him. It was so thoughtful--very funny as well--and we loved it.
I can't forget the food. I got a lamb plate and my boyfriend got the sultan's plate. Both were delicious and presented beautifully. We also both had turkish coffee which is a small sized, espresso-like drink. I had never had it and really enjoyed it.
We'll be back again. :)
Beef smelled like lamb. Maybe they were pan fried together? I don't like to eat lamb, so the smell was quite strong to me. Everything else was good.
