Cafe Trio Downtown
Just go....the food is delicious, the service is friendly and you will be pleased. That's all.
I would indeed recommend Cafe Trio to others and will keep going back myself. The food was great and the staff well-organized. The only drawback on this visit was the noise level for our larger group trying to conduct some business during lunch. However, that was on us and not the venue. This is a popular restaurant for a reason. Try the rosemary flatbread.... I keep wanting more!
Met here for a business lunch yesterday. Overall the restaurant is clean and well staffed and very quiet which was appreciated.
We had the Trio bread platter (with three different hummus dips) and that was pretty tasty.
I had a turkey & avocado sandwich that was okay but I think the quality of the turkey was lacking as it wasn't very flavorful. So the sandwich was a bit bland.
The location was a little odd. In a way it felt like an old government office of some sort which made it feel old and out of date. Parking was okay but I could see it being a problem if they were really busy.
Great place and ambience! The service was wonderful.
Excellent service and food quality.
Always Fabulous it’s our favorite place
Delicious and a lovely venue. Tables a bit too close together so not the most comfortable but you verbally we really enjoyed it
Great food and service. the Manager Sean was especially helpful.
Love this place, I wish they would expand their wine menu, and get some sweet wines.
The cauliflower dish was brilliant, perfectly cooked, beautifully presented, creative, and delicious. The corn and mushroom agnolotti was disappointing. The idea was creative and seasonal but the execution was flawed because a large number of the mushrooms were dried out, like old mushrooms left in the refrigerator too long and allowed to irrecoverably desiccate. It was a great idea ruined by faulty ingredients. A little bread offering at the table would be nice. Perhaps, with a nice olive oil to dip into. It could be a good use for the oven on display as you walk in.
The wine list is limited but offers a good selection of wines that are nicely chosen to complement the menu and reasonable in price.
The ambience is casual but urbane. The patio is delightful except for the flies.
Love Cafe Trio. It was a little slow service, but food was great!
Great place to get together, either for fun or business.
Always the best food and service
Café Trio is always delicious. The staff is friendly and gives recommendations when asked. One of my favorite spots to eat!
One of my favorite restaurants in SLC, every season, year in and out. Menu always changing around some standards, and always too many great choices from Italian inspired entrees to pizza to salads and now small plates. Flavors are spot on, and it's not all red sauce. Inventive cocktails and a solid wine list. Comfortable ambiance with a neighborhood feel, and very reasonably priced (with a loyalty plan to boot). A little loud tonight, but packed with people enjoying the food and each other. Indoor outdoor seating and great staff. This is the place I want to go. And now Open Table reservations before 6pm--Cheers!
Came here for a birthday dinner and had a wonderful time! We had a party of 17 and they were so helpful to accommodate us and all :) The service, food, and atmosphere is great. Thanks Trio!
Great patio for evening dining. Carbonara was fantastic!
I love sitting on the downtown Trio’s patio!!! It is so perfect! I love the flowers in the boxes and it isn’t noisy with cars, it’s just perfect! The food is always good, and usually the service is always great too! A great place to sit in a calm and relaxing atmosphere and enjoy being outside without being in the sun!
Food is excellent and service is great. Menu changes with the season so there are new items to try along with standard favorites. Pizza is thin crust, cooked a wood burning oven that you see when you first walk in. Splitting a pizza with a salad and a glass of wine is always a winner. If you are there when short ribs are the special, that is the one to get.
Great job all! I loved the food, the servers were nice, and it was a fun experience for our group. It was very accomadating for our group, and a nice date! Thank you!!
I am a quasi-regular at Trio, visiting with friends and business acquaintances. So far, the restaurant has been impressively consistent in terms of food quality and service. And in warmer weather you can sit outside.
My favorite place to eat! I will use any excuse to go to Cafe Trio. Brunch, dinner, dessert, anything. The downtown location is the best! Servers are always polite and on top of it.
Just poor food.
We come here every Valentine's Day, the food is amazing and so are the beverages. It is a little pricey, but so worth it. That's why we only go once a year. The seating is also close in proximity, so you hear the people's conversations around you. But everything we have ever tried here is seriously so good.
The lasagna special was delicious! Everyone enjoyed their meal. The server was attentive, but not overly so. We had a nice, cozy booth in the corner where it was easy to have a conversation.
We were celebrating Christmas with a special grandson and his parents. We sat at a round table. Perfect! Everyone could be involved in the conversation. Loved the lobster lasagna.and chicken. Looking forward to our next visit.
Wonderful date night spot !
Great food and great service
This was our team's Holiday dinner and none of them had been there before. All were delighted and commented they would certainly come back with spouses/friends. Our waiter (Jeff) was excellent; attentive, friendly and accommodating. He was everything you would want from a server. In regards to the food, the penne pasta and the carbonara were memorably good.
Trio has become stale. Same old , same old. Needs to have some revitalization. Portions are small vis a vis the price.
The food at our table was quite mediocre. Beet salad: low on quantity, with a virtually tasteless dressing. Meatballs & spaghetti: sauce tasted like ketchup. And why so few noodles?
Used to love Cafe Trio, but the menu is not that great. Love the location still.
There is a major fly issue that needs pest control to work on. It's not nice when flies are landing on you and your food all during dinner
The flies buzzing around (inside, mind you) were a little frustrating, but overall--still has some great food and the service is attentive.
Great food. Nice ambience
Great dinner, love coming here anytime I'm in Salt Lake.
Food is just so so, nothing special. Good service. Nice neighborhood setting. Prices much to high for quality of food.
Cocktails were not very good but waitress was accommodating and provided us wine as a replacement. We had appetizers and they were very good. It was a nice gathering spot for our group. We will go there again.
