Not worth the price for what we paid for. Food was OK but not sure that I’ll be going back there anytime soon.
We had an incredible night and our party grew by 3 without much warning, but Trio worked with us. That made the night absolutely fabulous. Their customer service, food, and ambiance were impeccable. I can't wait to go again. However, I'll remember to ask how much food comes on the plate for my next entree. My husband's entree came and it was so tiny! He was starving when we left. A little warno would have been nice when he was ordering. It was an incredibly delicious entree though:)
We had a reservation and were seated within about 15 minutes after our time upstairs in a nice soft corner booth. It was a snowy night. Upstairs seating was chilly as we were under two of the system fans which felt like the AC was on . The staff did turn off the fan at our request but there wasn’t much or any heat. They ran out of the special we ordered but the substitute was great. All the food was delicious and because of the inconveniences we were cooked a couple of apps. We went home happy and will definitely return but hopefully they will get a handle on the heating system before we do.
It was freaking cold and both me and my partner had to wear our jackets. I spoke with the person the recommended the place and from their experience it was cold as well which makes it for an uncomfortable dinner. Will not recommend.
The second level dining was great. I feel really bad for the servers who have to traverse the stairs. Lucky there are only 7 tables.
As always the food was excellent. Server was friendly. They were pretty busy because it was Valentine’s Day but food came out prompt and hot. Highly recommend the Mary’s chicken. It was amazing. Husband loved the mushroom and ravioli dish. They even packed up dessert for us. Love this place!
We paid $39 for the lobster special with tenderloin. We were surprised to see how little lobster was on the plate and most of it was covered in a Bearnaise type sauce that was way to strong in vinegar, or mustard, or whatever it was, it did not complement the dish. The tenderloin didn't have much flavor. We also paid $26 for the salmon. It was dry and super crusty on the edges. It was pretty disappointing, we left unsatisfied. On our way out we saw someone with a pizza that looked pretty good. It made us wish we had ordered that instead, it looked like a much better value for the money.
There is just nothing special about Trio. The food was marginal at best. The location was the reason we chose it as we were at a hotel nearby, but we won't go back.
Unfortunately, only one over worked waitress. Food was bland & restaurant was sterile.
We ordered the house flatbread ($4.00) and they brought us the Trio flatbread ($11.00). We didn't say anything. Our server was friendly, but didn't get back to us when we asked him what the 3 sauces were that accompanied the flatbread we didn't order. Two of the three people ordered the salmon which was very delicious, but the broccoli that came with it smelled so terribly burnt. It didn't look all charred, but for some reason there was such a stench of burnt to it. Upon closer inspection it was dark underneath. When waiter came back to ask how things were, I had to have him take it back. The carbonara was okay, according to the third person, but she remembers it being much better 4-5 years ago. Lastly, if you are expecting a large number of choices off the menu, there really aren't that many.
This place never disappoints! My husband and I dine here often for dinner. He had the salmon and I had the beef stroganoff special and it was delicious! For dessert he had the apple crisp which he enjoyed and I got the chocolate pudding which is my "go to" dessert. I enjoyed it, but it seemed a little saltier than usual.
The flat bread and salads are also yummy. I think the prices are very reasonable. If you've never been to Cafe Trio, you should go!
Delicious food, kind and attentive staff, our server was amazing!! Will definitely return soon!
We had to add an extra person to our reservation at the last minute. No issues with that. Our food was delivered with a smile and pleasant voice. The rosemary flat bread with carmelized onions, roasted red peppers and warm fluffy cheese was made even better with the balsamic glaze. This is a must order. My polenta and chicken was very good and the pizza ordered was a perfect size for two.
I've been to Cafe Trio a few times and always had a great experience, but when visiting their Cottonwood location on New Years Eve it was a dramatically different experience. I had some out of town guests visiting and despite the place not being packed at 9 pm the service was not even close to what I'm used to. Had 6 people at the table and not one of us finished even 1/2 our meal. Pasta wasn't cooked fully in some cases and in other cases it was overdone and crispy. Fries with burger were less than fast food quality. Overall taste was blah and Chef's pasta dish of the day was ugh. Kind of embarrassed as I wanted to impress my out of town guests. We actually left to hit In N Out later to make up for this meal. Quite disappointing and probably our last trip there.
A fantastic dining experience this New Years Eve. Trio has consistently great food and service. Their unique cocktails and desserts are always a delight as well.
Excellent food, appropriate portions. Service was the best I have experienced in a restaurant in years. Nice ambience. Can’t wait to go back.
I love both locations of the trio? We love this place so much! We are there a lot! Love the food, the staff and the atmosphere!
One of our long-time favorites for date nights and celebrations, alike.
I had heard such great things from my GF about this place and was excited to take my adult children for Christmas Eve dinner. I got the Lamb Shank Osso Bucco and it tasted like a bland pot roast, very uninteresting for >$30 entree. Dining room is very attractive but the open nature makes it quite loud. I will try it again since I realize we all have off nights.
Host and service was warm and friendly, food was great. The only misstep: “When a server clears a plate before everyone is finished, he or she leaves the table with a mess of subtle but important signals. Those who are still eating are made to feel as though they are holding others up; those who are not are made to feel as though they have rushed the meal. What was originally a group dining experience becomes a group exercise in guilt.”
Service was exceptionally slow.....waited an hour + for our meals.
Amazing Christmas Eve dinner. Fortunate enough to get a booth upstairs. The ambiance and view was amazing.
We had a great experience with friends. Making reservations online was a breeze. The only complaint would be the chopped beet salad didn't have the citrus flavor that I was looking for. My friend ordered the same thing and mentioned the same thing.
This is good place for a lunch small groups. There are 8 top round tables set back so good for a business lunch and discussion. Was rather hectic the day we were there so the service was a bit splintered with the lunch entrees coming out at different times. Server was apologetic for the delays on some of the entrees.
It has been several years since we visited Cafe Trio-Cottonwood. The menu is new, lighter and less expensive for the most part. We ordered two apps, the brussel sprouts and the clams on toast. I would not order either one again, though the clams on toast was far and away the least palatable.
Two diners ordered the Farm44 burgers which were done as requested and reported to be enjoyable. I ordered the spaghetti carbonara with extra sauce and though not a large portion, it was quite good. Our server was attentive and responsive to our needs and also very pleasant.
Had an amazing dinner tonight at Trio!! It was so nice and festive for the holidays! We ordered a bunch of small plates and they were to die for! It was so busy inside but the service was still perfect our server Tallan was great and two managers stopped by our table to see how things were! The Brussel sprouts and cauliflower are to die for! This is great spot for a nice holiday dinner! And be sure to get the tiramisu!
I was with 4 other friends and was so glad that they sat us at a round table. We could hear everyone talk and could even hear and talk across the table. Food was excellent. They were busy so the service was a little slow.
Server was very attentative and helpful with recommendations. Food was served promptly; presentation and taste were excellent.
Attentive staff. Good good
The plates are heavily over-salted and not satisfying. Our first course, Beets over Pesto was so salty that we had to send it back to the kitchen. The suggested feature was hearty but over seasoned and left too much sting on the palate. The service staff and management seemed apologetic but annoyed with our thoughts. I arrived early to find the staff mingling at the bar eating and laughing. Not a pleasant experience and there are too many options for these types of experiences to happen. Definitely won't be returning.
We have been here many times over the years. It is a great restaurant. This time it was just off. Service was slow and disorganized. Wrong dishes brought to us - including dessert.
But don't hesitate to go. Its one of the best in the southeast end of the Valley.
Food and cocktails were very good; if you like Old Fashioned's, try theirs--it is the best I have ever had. Only downfall was having to wait 10 mins for a table when we had a reservation.
I have eaten here 100 times. They never disappoint.
Great food as always, server was a bit of a spazz.
I was ordering halibut and I told the server that make sure the fish is not too dry. It came with 2 pieces.
The first bite was very dry and I told the server, he said he would tell the manager but I was too hungry to wait so I just ate it anyway. For the second piece I couldn't eat cause it's too dry. So, I called the manager he replace with the new halibut, still the fish didn't taste good. I don't think the chef is experience in cooking fish. I was very disappointed. it's expensive for the quality of the food.
We had a group of 7 for Sunday Brunch. The food was a bit inconsistent - the biscuits for biscuits and gravy were burned and dry, not enough gravy.....the Spanish Eggs were very good, as were the pancakes. Unfortunately, 3 in our group ordered the biscuits and gravy, so were were a bit disappointed. I ordered a bloody mary, which was very good, but it came without ice, so I had to steal ice from other drinks in order to cool it down a bit......
Inconsistent.
Cousin reunion
