Very small and intimate atmosphere. A few tables inside, so not a lot of room to move around but the food was outstanding. We will definately return
I appreciated the ambiance pf the period architecture and small dining room, a rare find in any fast paced city center.
Place looks great from the outside but once inside, the service was a tad slow and the food was unimpressive. A bit bland for Italian food and not all that tasty. Ambiance was O.K., but we will not be returning. Sorry.
We stumbled across this as we were looking for a place near downtown Orlando, but did not want to do the usual " Big Name of Chain thing. It was our anniversary. How fortunate we were that this came up on search for Italian near downtown Orlando. It was sooo charming. Easy to find. Free Parking.Great Service. Great Food.Close to where we were. What more could you need! And the prices were great too!
Fourth visit to this restaurant -- we took some out of town friends for a quiet dinner. Second generation Italians, they still spoke Italian in home. Said it reminded them of their grandmother's house, cooking & family dinners. We had a nice relaxing time. Little on the pricey side, though, so we don't go often.
overrated and uncomfortable the food was overpriced I could have ate just as good at Olive Garden and the chairs were extremely uncomfortable I left there with a bad back ache
They had a set menu and I had no problem with that. I want to think that their regular menu is better than the choices we received the night we went. The food was good but I can't say great. When asked for a side of bread we were told they didn't have any, when requesting a cook tempature for my filet I was told it was all served medium (mine came medium well). Champagne was part of the menu to be included but our server never offered though other table received champagne. Truthfully I was fine without it but is should have been offered.
So maybe this wasn't their best night, I'm willing to go back on a night when the full menu is available and see how that goes.
Sadly I have to report this was a disappointing experience at Café Trastevere. My husband and I have dined here twice before and were very happy with the quality of food and the overall experience. This time, not at all.
Time spent here for dinner was very pleasant and satisfying. Service good, food, plentiful.
Quarters were a bit tight but cozy.
Fine gem in downtown Orlando! Great food, friendly service, nice for dates and other special occasions.
Cafe Trastevere is a hidden gem off of Magnolia Avenue on the out skirts of downtown. The building is quaint, and dining patio is wonderful. The staff are very accommodating and well versed in the menu and wine availability. The food was well prepared and very tasty. We have wanted to try to visit for quite a while and finally made it on New Years Eve. We weren't disappointed!
We enjoyed the food and the waiter was very pleasant! It was quiet and the service was friendly and helpful ! Delicious
We went to celebrate our 4th anniversary. Cafe Trastevere is always a home run. Authentic Italian at its best.
I love this place. Very classic, rustic Italian food in a unique, intimate setting. The staff was very patient and accommodating.
I was hoping for a friendly, good local Italian spot. What I got was unfriendly with very forgettable food. I assume this was a father/son team. The one seemed lost, and the other gave off the attitude of not wanting to be there.
Soup too sweet. Bread was bland. Chicken ok but in watery sauce.
I think I'll pass on this one.
We always have a wonderful meal and the service is always good. Neighborhood gem for sure.
Excellent authentic Roman-Italian fare. Service is efficient, prompt and courteous. Staff very knowledgeable with menu. This was my 3rd visit, will continue to visit this downtown Orlando gem.
I greatly enjoyed dinner at Café Trastevere this past weekend. It had a great atmosphere with a romantic setting that my boyfriend and I loved. The food was absolutely delicious and very authentic italian. I think I can speak for both myself and my boyfriend by saying that we will definitely be going back!
We had a wonderful 41st wedding anniversary dinner at Cafe Trastervere. The food, service, and overall atmosphere was excellent, excellent, excellent!!!
This is the most delicious homemade italian food i've had in years!
As we arrived, the door was opened for us and greeted by a nice gentleman. We were immediately seated in a very small nice dining room; probably about 10 tables. Despite other reviews the room was air conditioned very well on a 98 degree FL day. The server came immediately to see if we wanted a beverage. We had Veal Marsala and Lobster Ravioli; both were very good. We did not have any appetizers or desserts. This is a nice Italian restaurant; great place for a quiet dinner.
Expected more from this quaint location. Service felt rushed and food was inconsistent in preparation.
We keep coming back over and over . The service is great and the food has no match . Every chef in town should be trained at cafe trastevere .
A bit pricey; very small space; food's ok but, not worth price. Wine very pricey also.
We just moved into the Nora building and gosh what a gem cafe trastevere is . This place for us is conveniently located at a walking distance and the food is absolutely delightful . By far the best restaurant in the neighborhood . Try their tiramisu . To die for . They also deliver to Nora . You must try it!!!!!!!!
Overall this place was just average. Not bad. A place I would go to if I lived close but would not recommend someone drive across town for. Service was adequate.
Excellent food great service an all around good experience we will be back.
This is my second experience here and is favorite. Home cooking when you are on the road 80% of the time is always a great find. This is the furthest thing from a chain restaurant. Quite, outdoor eating among friends, coworkers or that someone special. Awesome!!!!
My second time eating at Café Trastevere and food and service was outstanding, will highly recommend it to family and friends.
Consistently fine food and service in a unique and comfortable environment.
Aside from being on a major road, the restaurant was a nice quiet place to eat. I enjoyed the outside seating. Food was good. Their bread is amazing.
Wonderful little place - great food and ambiance
Like the small trattorias in Rome or New York City, this has a comfortable, welcoming atmosphere and good service. Both times we visited we've had outstanding dishes, from the antipasto to the crime brûlée (not Italian, but good anyway!). We're new to Orlando (Winter Park) and were surprised our friends here had not visited. We will urge the. To do so!
Love Café Trastevere. Small and intimate dining room with two outside dining areas and small bar area with two tables. The owners are there to greet you and meet your needs. The staff is friendly and attentive and help to make your overall experience pleasurable. The food is very good too! Whether a local or tourist don't miss Café Trastevere.
The salad dressing was not on the side like I ordered, the bread came 10 minutes after I asked. I had to go up to the bar and ask for more wine. The veal was fresh but the francese was very salty.
not a lot of pasta on the dish.
I loved how attentive the server was during our meal. She was helpful in making recommendations, plus she let us enjoy our meal without too many interruptions.
Great place to chill with friends. It also has a quaint romantic ambiance. I've taken my mother for the food, gone with friends for a glass of wine, and taken my boyfriend for a romantic dinner.
This restaurant is really awesome. Great atmosphere, great service, great food! It's a tad pricey, but it's worth the money.
This place is reliable, good service, good food and a cool location.
We really enjoyed dining out on their patio. The food was good. We ordered the chicken picatta and chicken marsala over linguine and both dishes were very good.
