We went for an anniversary brunch. Right from the start things didn’t go as planned. The host seemed to wish he wasn’t there. Seating eat group seemed to be a monumental annoyance. When another party asked to see somewhere else, he huffed like his entire day was ruined. The service was really slow. Our escargot was the worst I’ve ever had in my life. Our meals were pretty good but nothing special. Our server was concerned about empty water or coffee cups. Overall it was fine but I don’t think I’ll be back.
Loved celebrating my birthday at Cafe Touche.
We dine at Cafe Touche every several months at it is truly a neighborhood gem. The food is always great and in the summer the patio and open doors are reminiscent of our door cafes in Europe.
It can get loud but the food and service more than make up for it.
Great value for the money. Extensive wine list and great specials.
Had a wonderful evening from beginning to end! Our server Becky was the best!Very personable and a lot of fun! The escargot was perfect, apple salad, and filets were tender & done perfectly! The cream puffs were to die for, and also the delicious baguettes were perfect! Our friends from Minnesota were in and we told them about it from our last visit at a surprise party for my brother. They loved it too! A perfect evening.
Terrific place - great menu and very nice ambiance.
The food is consistently great. The service fantastic and the menu choices are great too. It gets pretty loud when the restaurant is full which is what to expect on weekend. I have been there many times and would definitely recommend Café Touche
Our favorite go-to neighborhood place. We are really fortunate to have such a wonderful restaurant in the neighborhood. Actually, we'll be there again tonight (Edison Park restaurant week).
We love Cafe Touche- had to wait awhile to receive a waiter, seems no one knew we were there, but once we finally saw a waiter, he was great. It’s a little pricey, but we love the food and ambience.
My wife and I ate here for Edison Park restaurant week. We had wanted to check this place out for some time. Let's start with the service. Or lack thereof. It was simply terrible. We waited 15 minutes for the waiter to arrive, and then it took every course forever to show up. Really bad. I started with the Pate and my wife had the mussels. The mussels were very small, and the broth was virtually tasteless. I had the pate and it was delicious. Could have used a few more toast points, but it was terrific. I ah the steak frites, my wife the chicken frites. Steak was tough. Tough to the point of being difficult to cut with a steak knife. I normally would have sent it back, but we waited so long, I thought it might be another hour before a new one appeared. My wife's chicken was dry and no taste. The frites were not crisp. None of the food was hot, as if it had been standing out for a while. For dessert my wife had the bread pudding, which normally in other restaurants is so big it feeds more than one. This was a little square, and just was not what you think of, when you think of bread pudding. Not very good. I had the prefortioles, and it was just a large ice cream sandwich, frozen hard as a rock. To say the least we will not be back, and my advice to you, is to avoid like the plague.
Food was excellent. I had the tilapia and the escargot.
Food was excellent, I ordered the mussels appetizer and it could easily been my main entree. Service started off quite strong but then the restaurant got quite busy. I noticed the tables around us got their food and were done before ours came out of the kitchen (very similar orders too). Not a major issue since the appetizer was such a big portion but we were rushed to eat due to another commitment.
Wonderful food! Makes a special occasion feel
My daughter’s high school graduation. Family celebration dinner. We love Cafe Touche! Always.
Usually the service is great, but tonight the food took forever to come out and the service from the wait stuff left much to be desired. Thank goodness I know this isn’t the usual. Hopefully next time there are back ups in place.
Decent food but way too noisy and drafty in the restaurant.
Neighborhood gem! Food is always excellent, has great gluten free options!
Ate there for lunch. Sat by the open doors, very nice ambiance. Food and service was great: would definitely go back.
We had a small gathering of 14 people at Cafe Touch and everything was absolutely delightful. The serving staff, the food, and the overall ambience of CT was excellent. I have had two showers at CT and now this party...have always been pleased with every aspect of the experience. Management is terrific to work with...
Food is absolutely wonderful and creative! Lovely place!
Always a nice lunch place to sit and chat with an old dear friend! Service was excellent, food too and overall great time! Love this restaurant !
We enjoyed a Sunday afternoon dinner in a favorite typical French style bistro.
We were happy to arrive at a quiet in-between time to spend time together after a hectic week.
We had two seafood appetizers for our meals. Both were superb!
Brunch is always a fun experience here. Kelly our waitress was awesome! Cant wait to go back again.
Service could not have been better. No rushing but attentive. Food very good. Walls open as windows so you’ve feel like you’re outside . Tables spaces far enough apart so noise held down. Been here many times. Very consistent place. One of my favorites
I enjoy almost everything about this restaurant. That being said, it is important to note that seat selection is very important here. When the sun is relatively low in the sky (i.e. dinner time) the glare can become very uncomfortable if you are near and/or facing the side windows, Also, spacing between tables is tighter than ideal. Even so, I'll be back. I'll just be more particular as to where I am seated.
Great food and nice atmosphere. The deserts are to die for!
Great food loved the escargot it's my favorite!
Bread at the table served fresh and the mini loafs are a bonus! Bread pudding dessert was awesome as well! Will be back and dine el fresco when weather improves! Nice outside seating area!
Great food and service.
Wonderful experience. We arrived a little early on a busy Easter Sunday but they accommodated us. The food was just delicious and service was excellent. The only down side was it was quite noisy so difficult for my elderly mother to join in a conversation. But that didn’t stop her from requesting to return for her 94th birthday in June.
We have been there a couple times and it was great, so we brought a group of 9 for Easter, hoping that everyone would enjoy it. The adults and kids in our group all thought it was fantastic! Everyone enjoyed their food and service was great.
Great restaurant with great food and atmosphere! I definitely recommend!
One of the best brunch places I have been to. Nice ambiance, good food, the service was great too. Overall I would say I would be back soon.
What a great spot! We all loved the food! Got there at 7:30 on Saturday and the room was full. A hidden gem.
The price was very high for the value received. Had a $34 entree that was poorly cooked.
An extremely satisfying dining experience. Superb service. Great food (steak au poivre, escargot, apple tart). Sensational wine list.
Our server was amazing! She was attentive, funny, and quick! Food was delicious as usual.
We had a table for 8 on a Saturday. Arrived early and were seated right away. The food and the service was outstanding! Most of our group had never been before and absolutely loved Cafe Touche!
This is a little treasure of a bistro set a bit off the beaten track north if the city. Great atmosphere and full of noise that generates good vibes. Food is based on French cooking and is nice. Good selection of wines and for brunch endless fizz. Staff and friendly and very helpful. A place to keep going back to.
The food and service were very good. Enjoyed the $5 wine special which is a good value.
My wife & friends had a recommendation for cafe Touche Sunday brunch. It did not disappoint. Excellent food, good service, and the space has been designed to be open, relaxing and pleasing to the eye, like a renovated jewel. Do reserve - all tables will fill. Free Valet parking (do tip).
See the menu online. The food tastes as good as it looks. We had a lot of show & tell, so probably held our table a bit longer then we should, but no hassle to vacate. A good experience. We’ll be back.
