Pasta is delicious
Outstanding service and a Great wine selection that food was very good i found this place by accident
I went to Cafe Torre recently with a friend, and it was so enjoyable, I brought my foodie buddies here for dinner. It was a great success - everyone was happy with their choices, the service was understated but very professional, and the wine selection was very, very good. We'll be back as a group, and individually - I just know it!
Limited on employees for service. Lost some of the specialness that has attracted us for years.
They let us share salad and fish main dish. Came with two separate plates and wonderfully presented. Glass wine was with decent portion.
Very nice, small, authentic restaurant - very good food - super friendly staff
This is my second visit to Cafe Torre, and other than being tucked in a corner facing the rest rooms, it was great! We had paella, which was delicious! And the lemon tart was just right - not too tangy, and not too sweet. I recommend this restaurant.
I have eaten at this restaurant over many years now. I like their food preparations and the service is always nice. We had a group of 6 and it was not noisy so we could have a nice conversation while enjoying our meal and drinks. We go early with our group before going to the Theatre so we can have a nice relaxing meal together. I also enjoy coming to Cafe Torre for lunch as well!
Always one of my favorites. Was surprisingly empty for a lunch time in Silicon Valley tho'- don't know why???
Delicious food, friendly professional service, nice atmosphere. Red wine could be kept a little cooler, but that’s just a nit-pick.
It's been a while since I've eaten at Cafe Torre. So glad I returned. Brought in and Italian American friend visiting from Massachusetts. The cuisine is Northern Italian-French. We started with the sampler antipasto; prosciutto, olives, soft cheese, pate, roasted bell peppers and grapes. Very tasty and satisfying. Next course was a shared smoked chicken fettuccine which is their signature dish. Nick was raised on homemade Italian food. But this dish with a garlic, wine, shiitake mushrooms cream sauce was an OMG experience. He's going to tell his nona how fantastically good this tasted. We then shared the ribeye steak which was cooked to perfection with a wine reduction with the steak juices. Excellently cooked to medium rare and so tender. Mixed vegetables were included. It won't be a long while before I return. Have been eating here for about 30 years. Service has always been first rate and a nice quiet atmosphere.
The food is good, but not exeptional. E.g. no homemade pasta.
The atmosphere is very nice and the service was great.
Great food and service.
Good food and service. Major issue was lack of gluten-free options.
Neighborhood gem. Always good and small place
Overall the experience was great. The food was good, the portions were perfect, nice selection of wine and the staff was pleasant. Only thing is they were out of clams and really that was the only thing I wanted on their menu and then we wanted to order cappuccino, they were out of milk. I thought, and you couldn’t have anyone run out to get milk? There was a grocery just a couple of blocks away.
We haven’t been here for years, but we will be back soon. The food and service was excellent. Outstanding arugula salad and the squid ink pasta was wonderful. Servings are generous and reasonably priced. So glad we came back.
Excellent service, good portions and served hot. Desserts were excellent.
I've been eating at Cafe Torre for over 20 years and the food has been consistently excellent the entire time. Everyone I bring here is impressed. Always great service too.
Exceptional food and service; as usual
The whole wait and busing staff were fabulous.
Definitely will recommend this restaurant!!
This restaurant is so consistent in it's friendly, wonderful service and food. This is a favorite for me!
We not only like to come here for dinner by ourselves but we like to bring other people here for special occasions. We have spent the last 8 New Year's Eve and the last 5 girl's birthday dinners here. The food and service are always excellent.
Food wise, if you stick to the pasta you can have a very good meal. The noni spaghetti was excellent. The appetizer shrimp was drowning in sauce. The appetizer beets were just ok. The special of pork tenderloin was awful - waaaay over cooked and flavorless. The servers are pleasant.
The wait staff was friendly and helpful. The ambiance was fine, a bit stereotyped. The ravioli were undercooked, in fact down right chewy. Salad was very typical. Nothing here worth revisiting.
Nice place for a family to gather and get a good bite to eat. Very casual and food was priced reasonably.
Always a gentle experience as the staff are not intrusive but very attentive and available.
waiters and owner need to be friendlier! Pur a smile on the face
Great neighborhood restaurant.
we had a great business lunch. special fish was to die for.
This place always has excellent food, but it is rarely too crowded. The location from the outside may not appear fancy, and the experience is all substance.
With white table clothes and a menu that harkens back to its roots in Los Gatos' Café Marcella, this place provides a nice quiet place to have a casual, no-pressure date or a business meeting where you can hear what the other parties are saying. It is one of the few places started by the original crew from Café Marcella that still has the smoked chicken fettucine that we crave from the old restaurant.
The service is attentive, and the dishes arrive in a timely fashion.
Great Italian food, exceptional service. Clean, quiet and not crowded.
Still our favorite Italian restaurant over the past 15 years. Feel like owner Ivan and staff are part of our family as we have celebrated so many of our life milestones here. This is the best type of local neighborhood restaurant serving a loyal community customer base that comes back over and over. Hope it’s here forever!
Very pleasant atmosphere. Not rushed at all. We were there for lunch. A few more light options on the mid-day menu would be nice.
Very good service. food was good. enjoyable environment.
We have eaten here twice in the past 8 months. The service was excellent and the food is awesome. We will be going back once a month moving forward.
It’s a small restaurant, but that makes a special place to dine.
As usual, the food is very good. However, our friend who always likes the Lasagna, said it tasted as if it was a re-heat of a dish prepared the previous day. Very disappointing for him.
Nicoise and octopus/calamari salads were both successes. The quiet atmosphere was perfect for catching up with a friend over lunch.
Great food as usual and service. Was nice to enjoy a late business lunch.
Cafe Torre has been around for a very long time and that's not surprising because it does not disappoint. The ambience is intimate, the food is delicious, the wine choices are excellent, the service is attentive and friendly but never intrusive. The pate appetizer is always wildly generous.
Cafe Torre is remarkably quiet in a world where restaurants seem to outdo each other on noise so it's a great place to go with a friend, a partner, a date, anyone you actually want to talk to!
We've eaten there for special occasions and occasionally just because we felt like it. It's the kind of place you'd probably never find unless you lived around here and amen.
