Decor in the restaurant will try to make you feel warm and cozy with dark wood and dark colors, dimmed lights at the bar area along with glass atrium dining room for a romantic feel with a view of Brewster Garden and Plymouth Harbor.
We also have a private function room that offers additional seating for every occasion, private parties up to 40 people. Our outdoor patio offers live music during warm season with full menu available.
Food was excellent; waitstaff exceptional to needs of party. Will definitely be back there soon!!
Good food, friendly staff.
The service was exceptional for our group of 10. Food very good and consistent with our past visits!
Great place and service. Food was awesome! Only comment was the first table we sat at was elbow to elbow with another table but once moved we were great.
Best restaurant in Plymouth.
The food is always excellent, as is the staff.
A little hidden gem. Although, actually quite popular. It is definitely my husband and my favorite local spot.
We made reservations that afternoon, for 8 people and the table wasn't ready right away they went out of their way to accommodate us. food was amazing and service excellent
About a year ago had a reservation to be told the table would be ready in about 5 minutes. Said that we would go to the bar and wait. We noticed people coming in after us were being seated after we had waited 20 to 25 minutes. Checked with the hostess and were told there was nothing available. We left. Thought we’d give it another chance. Made a 7:30 reservation. Arrived about 20 minutes early and were greeted pleasantly and told our table would be ready at the reserved time. We were seated about 7:25 and had a very nice meal and our server was very nice. Would go back.
Saturday night reservation that was honored immediately. It was a very full dining room, bar, and casual bench seating area. Our server was very friendly, greeted us and offered the daily specials including drink specials. There were four of us. The soup was hot, and ample for a starter, a house salad consisting of mostly greens could have more mixed vegetables. The grilled scallops were moist, tender and outstanding. The ZUPPA DI CROSTACCEI was ample, filling, and had a wonderful flavor of Scallops, Mussels, Calamari, Shrimp and mixed spices. Chicken cutlet served with Penne Pasta was a choice for two of us. Now that was awesome and a regular on the menu. Our water glasses were kept full and a second round of cocktails was served when noticed by our server. Our server also suggested the Canoli and coffee for dessert. We ordered Canolis and Cappuccinos that were most satisfactory. The place was very crowded, the noise level was low, conversation at the table was easily comfortable.
Have enjoyed several entrées here, my favorite is Polo Saltimbocca which I had a couple of days ago. Their carbonara is wonderful as are their veal dishes. My only complaint is that they need to change up their potato and vegetable offerings. The red potatoes are simply bland and w/o seasonings and the same vegetable medley over the years is disappointing. Why not change things up seasonally!
Café Strega is a wonderful oasis of fine food and excellent ambiance in the middle of downtown Plymouth offering not only wonderful views of both the harbor and Brewster's Gardens. Plymouth offers many good restaurants, but Café Strega is definitely a 'cut above the rest'.
Awesome food and service
Little disappointed... this place was always hands down the BEST always walked away full and happy. The food has gone down-hill. Service was great such nice young lady but the only thing I loved this time for food was the bread and my cocktail.
One of our favorite places to dine when we are in Plymouth.
Quite pleasantly surprised by a VERY good Italian eatery in downtown Plymouth with a harbor view! Spaghetti Puttanesca was fabulously al dente and the diced tomato, feta and mint salad was very special. Caprese salad was just ok as the tomato and mozzarella were not inspiring. The bread was perfect and the herb infused EVOO...fabulous!! Again...a treat
The pork chops were perfect, potatoes and peppers were just warm.
We loved the service, very helpful and personable. The room is not too large and they have good noise control. Totally enjoyed our experience
Service was excellent but entrees were average/veal and chicken parmigiana were over done. Profiterole was blah. Had better meals in the past.
What a delicious evening. My chicken parmigiana was so delicate fried perfectly no grease with great sauce and cheese. I asked for my pasta to have the puttenesca sauce which was outstanding. My husband had the fettuccine carbonara with a side of one meatball which he loved. Zura was on the bar and the cocktails were perfect. Rachel was our waitress and was so efficient and friendly. A yummy night out
Nice place to go; food was excellent but it can get crowded very fast.
Had the calamari, meatballs, spaghetti alla puttanesca and cannolis , All VERY good. Wine list is decent and value is good. Service was subpar. Had to ask for a glass of wine three different times before it was delivered. Empty water glasses, very slow and lack of interest in taking care of the customer (our waitress). If we had a different server it would have been a 5 star experience all around. Would still highly recommend.
Very atentative wait staff, very good food, great canoli's. One of favorites in Plymouth
Last two times we were there it was 100 pct.
it has slipped a bit but still good for Plymouth.
Wait staff was pleasant and attentive. Food was average at best. I expected better based on previous dining experiences.
Out for a nice dinner while on vacation in Plymouth.
As always we had a wonderful experience. Our waitress was efficient and didn’t rush us at all. Cafe strata is quickly becoming our “to go place” in Plymouth. The food is always delicious! Thank you
Wonderful night with family and friends...food was delish..beautiful old building in downtown Plymouth
This was my fourth visit to Cafe Strega and it NEVER disappoints. The service is great, the food fabulous and the seating is comfortable and scenic.
very happy with the meal and service.... thanks for a pleasant evening
Headed down to Cafe Strega to celebrate a birthday with my parents in Plymouth. Got a same-day reservation through OpenTable for 4:30 (with note that we were celebrating a bday) which was great. Arrived a couple of mins early and the hostess was very pleasant, gave us a choice of great tables, and immediately wished our bday celebrant a "happy birthday". The waitress came by shortly, took drink orders, and recommended a glass of wine to replace the one requested that was no longer available.
Unfortunately, the service after this great beginning was both slow and completely unattentive. Water glasses went and stayed empty, a second round of drinks was not offered, and the dinner ended up taking a very frustrating 2 hrs! We just could not get our waitress' attention. When we finally ordered dessert, there was no birthday mention and no candle - buzz kill.
We will most likely try Cafe Strega again in hopes that the poor service was a blip on an otherwise set of positive experiences.
Always a GREAT experience! Food was wonderful, view was great, service outstanding!
We appreciated the wonderful table w/view, which I asked for in our reservation. Meatballs were terrific except for fennel in them! Lobster ravioli stuffing was lovely, but edges were hard, and a couple were stuck together. Portions were fair. Service was severely lacking! Waitress was more concerned talking with another table.
Another great birthday dinner for the Andrea! Started with a great martini. The antipasto’s are fantastic. Had the spaghetti puttanesca keeping with the olive theme of the martini. Ended with a tiramisu and coffee for two. Great Italian food restaurant. Our favorite for birthdays, New Years Eve, and something special...
The food was very good and the portions were just right. The staff were excellent, attentive but not intrusive. The location was nice and the dining room very comfortable. We would recommend it highly.
This is absolutely my favorite restaurant in this area. The food is wonderful; the service is excellent. It is noisy because of the way the room is constructed, but you can still chat with tablemates. Well worth a little noise. Just love the place.
I can never say I’ve had a bad meal at Café Strega my wife and I have eaten our way through the menu when we are planning our rehearsal dinner which we held there the staff and management is Fantastic
Everything was outstanding. Can't wait to make a return visit.
Excellent food and service. It can be exceedingly noisy if seated near a large table.
Great food, service and we even had a nice view! Will definitely be back.
