Bringing 1940s Paris to modern-day Edinburgh, Café St Honoré restaurant is a charming bistro serving up traditional French cuisine (with a few Scottish favourites thrown in) to a loyal clientele. Tucked away on a picturesque cobbled lane in the New Town, the cosy dining room at Café St Honore, with mirrored walls and black-and-white tiled floors, provides an atmospheric retreat. The team here are passionate about local, organic produce, so the menu changes daily. There are prix fixe menus on offer at lunch and dinner if you’re after a bargain, or just need an excuse to indulge in dessert. In the evening, a seasonal menu du jour is available alongside the full a la carte, which features dishes like roast pheasant with red cabbage and pancetta; Our warming Cafe St Honore Cassoulet; and vanilla crème brûlée. Fantastic restaurant, authentic food, great cocktails and staff couldn't help more. I have a lot of food allergies and they catered to all.

We enjoyed our lunch at Café St Honoré. The food was excellent - we opted for the set lunch offering. The wine list was extensive and we eventually choose a very enjoyable Rose. Staff made you welcome and were attentive throughout our visit. Overall it was a very pleasant experience and we will be going back there soon.

Pre booked and checked into restaurant however after being seated and ordering water, we were left for 30 minutes until finally a waitress came to table and said they forgot we were there!! Service was not in keeping with restaurant quality and expect better. Food however was usual very high standards although asparagus starter was particularly over priced and was same as more expensive dishes and worked out at £4 per spear!!

Very good food, excellent staff, portions were reasonable but food was slightly expensive. The menu was a little restrictive and when I asked for a substitute in the meal I chose, as I did not like one of the vegetables, only one option was offered. This led to me changing my selection, which was disappointing. A very good selection of wine. Ambience was very nice. I would visit again but would wait until the menu was more suited to me.

This French Café in Edinburgh is a delight. The meals are well prepared and sourced locally. The coq au vin with white wine was outstanding. The servers are attentive yet not intrusive. The decor is right out of Paris.
