Bringing 1940s Paris to modern-day Edinburgh, Café St Honoré restaurant is a charming bistro serving up traditional French cuisine (with a few Scottish favourites thrown in) to a loyal clientele. Tucked away on a picturesque cobbled lane in the New Town, the cosy dining room at Café St Honore, with mirrored walls and black-and-white tiled floors, provides an atmospheric retreat. The team here are passionate about local, organic produce, so the menu changes daily. There are prix fixe menus on offer at lunch and dinner if you’re after a bargain, or just need an excuse to indulge in dessert. In the evening, a seasonal menu du jour is available alongside the full a la carte, which features dishes like roast pheasant with red cabbage and pancetta; Our warming Cafe St Honore Cassoulet; and vanilla crème brûlée. The wine list features some excellent French wines – a real treat for novices and connoisseurs alike.

My most favourite restaurant in Edinburgh. It makes feel happy especially with my special table and my initial glass of Champagne!

Return visit early on a Sunday evening, so expected it to be quiet, but they were advising walking they were full later. Excellent meal Sunday roast was still on offer which was excellent including the Crackling on the pork, finished with Crème Brûlée all very good. As always a warm welcome.

Took my family and a friend to Cafe St Honore for dinner. It’s tucked away on a small street between George and Queen Streets which allows for a quieter location. Small inside and very personable. We ordered dishes including the roast lamb, potatoes gnocchi, monk fish, and two people had the flat iron steak special. All of us thought the food was excellent. Service was very good and they did not rush us at all. Overall, a very nice experience.

My husband and I had the 3 course set lunch menu and it was delicious. The portion sizes were perfect which meant by the end I was full, but not too full. The staff were lovely. Very friendly and courteous. We visited on a Thursday lunchtime and it was nice and quiet. I absolutely recommend the restaurant for its delicious food and Parisian vibes!

We were a party of 6 and we all thought the food was fabulous. The vegetarians among us thought the gnocchi outstanding. The chocolate fondant was to die for! The only slight minus was being sat near the door and in front of the bar, a little tight for space and a nasty draft from the door opening and closing throughout. Next time I shall ask to be sat away from the door. But otherwise we all were impressed with the food and the service. Thank you
