Two separate dining areas afford privacy to parties of fifteen to fifty. These small dining areas are perfect for special group celebrations, private office happy hours, or professional business meetings. Areas may be combined to accommodate larger parties. We also have a second floor meeting space.

Pretty surroundings. Very dry beef burger and also lamb burger. Juiceless and tasteless. The lamb burger was ordered medium rare, and came black and crispy on the outside and dry and well done on the inside. If I had to guess as the cook in my home, it was left over from lunch and reheated.
Why does this place have such high reviews? Overpriced, the waitstaff is moderately attentive but the bar staff is horrible. For appetizers, we ordered onion tart (greasy but flavorful), tuna carpaccio (cheap quality fish but well seasoned) and French onion soup. For entrees, we had one of the worst Niçoise salads ever (cheap quality tuna, randomly added bell peppers and seaweed??), a mediocre steak, and dry lobster ravioli. Both desserts tasted like they were microwaved from frozen packaging. Other reviews don’t mention that the restaurant is connected to a hotel and you have to exit to the lobby, pick the right door, and snake your way upstairs to find the restroom out of toilet paper.
Anybody reading this who wants an amazing Niçoise salad, check out District Commons.
Good food courteous service. Gets pretty crowded during the lunch hour. Seating is also tight.
Service continues to be desultory at Cafe Soleil. While the bar and wait staff number nearly half a dozen, they seem to reluctantly take up their duties when you walk into the restaurant. One can expect to wait 10-15 minutes before wait staff trudge over to sullenly receive your order. Then you can expect to wait at least half an hour for the beleaguered kitchen staff to attend to your order. While the ambiance remains charming and the food is savory, I'm beginning to realize it's time to find an alternative local neighborhood go-to venue for refined lunch get togethers...
Great scallops!
Food is not really good and too expensive for what it is.
We had oignon tart that was clearly not made for us, re-heat from one made few days ago. It was really greasy.
Then we have lobster ravioli, it was very dry and didn’t taste lobster at all.
Finally, the dessert was absolutely not looking as a Mousse, but the taste was OK.
Cocktails were good
The food as always, very good. We tested the patience of the wait staff as one of the two of us was unavoidably delayed 3//4 hour at lunchtime. Not a hint the person who sat was anything less than perfectly welcome. It felt like home. Thank you to the very gracious wait staff.
Outstanding service. Fantastic food. Even went as far as creating a dish that wasn't on the menu. Next time I'm in DC I'm going back.
Four former colleagues enjoyed a wonderful meal tonight at Cafe Soleil. The menu was eclectic enough that seafood and burgers were happily devoured while swapping stories. Service is always stellar here and tonight was no exception, even when we requested separate checks.
Great food and nice atmosphere. Dress code is not well enforced
Nice little place to grab breakfast - very pleasant employees who seem to care about the customer :) I plan on returning to this place again!!
The restaurant was closed upon my arrival as the cook staff had not arrived. It opened shortly but I had to begin making plans to have my breakfast meeting elsewhere.
Limited menu with no specials, but dishes are surprisingly good.
A reliable meal at a long-time favorite restaurant. Food, service ambience first rate!
What happened to your mussels? Now there are a few open on a plate and they are cold. Put them back in a deep dish
Cafe Soleil is a quaint neighborhood gem in Farragut serving French-inspired American cuisines. The service is among the best I've experienced in D.C., and one is likely to see many a politico dining in with you or walking down the street two blocks toward the White House.
Everything was very nice. We had the place to ourselves. We needed early dinner before show at kennedy center so we had the place to ourselves. It very quiet but everything very nice.
Decent meal before a visit to the Renwick Gallery. Crab/tomato soup was outstanding and the French Onion soup lived up to billing. Bacon sliders were only kind of meh. Service was attentive and professional despite several tables and only one waitperson.
My daughter and I had a late dinner at Cafe Soleil. When we walked in, I asked for a table by the window. At the time, I didn't realize that part of the dining room was closed. But they happily seated us there and gave us wonderful service. The food was fresh and full of flavor. The salad of stacked crab meat, avocado and tomatoes was FABULOUS! Cafe Soleil is cozy, casual and very good!
Loved Victoria the bartender. Tom and I spent New Years Eve night at the bar. Everyone was friendly and drinks were g
ood. Victoria the bartender was very accommodating and friendly. She made sure we had a great evening. We had food at the bar and martinis were great. Happy 2018 Victoria and everyone!!

Attentive service. Cozy ambiance. Terrific location -- steps from the White House, Farragut West Metro stop and Renwick Gallery. Yummy French onion soup, big burger topped with cole slaw and special sauce.
The service was fine. The restaurant is described as French, and decor did fit that. The "specialty" cocktail selection was uninspired. The sauce on the pork chop looked like it came out of a can, and wasn't very good. The sole was poorly cooked. The sides were completely unseasoned white rice and limp, boiled brussels sprouts (not roasted). A decent French restaurant would obviously serve a filet of sole with small boiled potatoes. Crème brûlée is correctly served either plain, or with a crisp layer of burnt sugar. They served it with odd black smears in the surface (maybe someone tried to scrape off a sugar coating that had become soggy?) , topped with a squiggle of what looked like canned raspberry dessert topping.
Great place for business meetings since noise level is quite minimal. Location is perfect since it is right next to Farragut West. Price is reasonable though food taste itself is quite ordinary.
I met a friend for lunch here and they had the seats completely jammed together. I was sitting approximately 18 inches from the person at the table beside me. I'm sure they were as annoyed to have to hear our conversation as we were to hear their. It didn't seem that crowded so I don't get the need for the tables to be situated like that.
I cannot believe all of the good reviews about this place. It was utterly empty on a Friday night...that was our first clue. The tablecloths and soft music give the illusion of quality, but you realize that's not the case really quick. Cocktails were awful. Appetizer was bland. The seafood "special" was burnt, dry, and unappetizing. There are much better options in DC, especially at this price point. The service was the only redeeming factor.
The holiday decorations were lovely.
Food was fantastic!
Excellent food, respectful service, allowed us plenty of time for the conversations we were having with our meal. With the quality of the food, I am surprised how few tables were full, even though it was a midweek evening. A place this good deserves more customers!
My lunches at Café Soleil were enjoyable, so I thought it would be a good choice for a casual dinner. Not so. The sole was bland, revived only by the scant amount of sauce that dotted the plate. Meals like this remind me why it is sometimes better to just eat at home. Perhaps the fish was cooked earlier in the day and reheated for dinner. The meal turned me off to this restaurant.
Our waiter did not speak English or u sweat and what we were asking so This was difficult. Nothing special but cute place.
Chicken vegetable soup would have been very good had it been hot. Bibb lettuce salad had a strange taste -- the dressing maybe? Too much parsley? Or was it tarragon? Hard to overdo parsley. One of my companions found two pieces of plastic in the mashed potatoes. The waiter offered no explanation -- he just took the plate she had placed them on away. No manager came to apologize. My other companion had a sandwich which she described as "fine." I ordered the apple crumb pie for dessert specifically asking if it would be served hot. The waiter assured me it would. It was tepid at best and the warmth was uneven -- actually cold in spots -- leading me to believe it was just stuck in a microwave since the crumb topping was soggy as well. Coffee was very good. Price was fair. Ambience was great for an early pre-concert dinner. Maybe it was a bad night. I'd try it again mainly because it's one of a handful of restaurants near Constitution Hall and anyone can have an off night.
Grilled chicken salad. I'm very happy to be back there again. I'm surprised that the manager knows me asvwell, lol! Fantastic!
The food was just ok. Some strange things like calamari with tartar sauce. However, service was good and setting was pleasant.
Great neighborhood restaurant with authentic Bistro atmosphere. Excellent service and food.
Great neighborhood place for lunch. Love the atmosphere.
The food, service and ambiance were great! Nice cozy place to relax in after a tough day at work! Prices were reasonable and the service was perfect. I would go back and would recommend to anyone!
For a weekday lunch, I recommend arriving prior to 12:15pm to have a quiet ambiance and conversation with any guests you may have. Even with the restaurant full for lunch, conversation was pretty easy, but the ambiance was much more lively as the lunch crowd arrived.
The sandwiches (lamb and chicken) were tasty, but not enough to have me return soon.
The biggest con to the restaurant is the bathroom being on the second floor of the adjacent hotel. The process getting there is a little clunky with a security badge and stairs.
The meal was okay, service was slow and it was somewhat loud during lunch time.
As always, it is a pleasure to dine here - service is superb...consistently...like the atmosphere too
Everything was great from the start, the ambiance, service and the food. The food was hot and had a fresh taste. I would highly recommend the almond crusted salmon and the chocolate mousse.
My only criticism is that access to the restrooms upstairs must be gained by a wait staff using a card to operate the elevator. This is an annoyance and should be corrected.
