Old friends having a special dinner together. Food was delicious, service was impeccable, quiet atmosphere that made for easy conversation. We’ll be back.

Qualified review not based on dining experience. Upon arrival at 5:30 pm, was promptly seated and due to the poor condition of the dining room chair, deeply cut my index finger, which necessitated a prompt exit and subsequent visit to the emergency room for stitches. The chef and owner, along with the staff, expressed remorse and concern and promptly removed the chair from the main dining room. The restaurant was empty and based on my scanning the spartanly decorated dining room, was not disappointed my family couldn't experience the food.

Great overall service and experience. A great place to stop and eat on the way to or from the theater.

I always look forward to having dinner here. Food is excellent as well as service. The ambience is very relaxing, not rushed. The acoustics make it possible to have a conversation during the meal which is lacking in several high end restaurants now. I recently mentioned to someone that I was surprised it was not listed on Memphis top romantic restaurants. Would definitely list it as a great date night or any night "go to" restaurant.

Good food ,but very small menu. Would like to see more choices on the menu and a small salad included with an entree.

Excellent restaurant with great food and service. I had the Bouillabaisse and it was excellent with very fresh ingredients. The steaks are always perfectly prepared. Gluten-free/dairy-free homemade sorbet is great.

Food and service were good, very casual. The dining room is elegant, but the paper table cloths ruined it for me. Plus our table was wobbly and squeaky.

One of my favorites for 16 years. I have had lunch at this restaurant at least two or three or more times each month. This is where I go for important business meals.

This quoet little restaurant is a fan favorite for my wife and I. Its a quiet, clean romantic atmosphere. If there were one thing I would change...its the chairs. They don't seem to fit the decor of the restaurant, but...in the grand scheme of things the chairs get a pass. :-)

My seafood had a really bad odor to it, and my date’s veal meal was tough. I could not eat more than a bite of mine.. It looked nicely arranged but I couldn’t get over the smell..

Restaurant is plain with little ambiance. Service was slow and scarce. Our order was forgotten in the kitchen, yet there were only three or four other tables in the restaurant. Drink refills were forgotten. Our server offered to comp us a round of drinks, then brought us a check for full price. The food was very overpriced for the quality and flavor. There are better restaurants in Memphis.

Wonderful dining experience. You owe it to yourself to spend and evening here. Food and wine were excellent.

We were there on Christmas Eve after a church service and visit to The Peabofy Hotel so we were late diners. The service was fine, with no effort to rush our party, and taking every effort to provide us with menu information and to check to see that we were pleased. The owner and his wife both circulated among guests, thanking us for our patronage. It was a lovely dinner out and a very homey, warm and comfortable ambiance. This compares very favorably with French restaurants in D.C. where we live. A joy to find in Memphis!

Food was excellent. Had the roasted oysters and duck for apps and the steak and salmon were great. We all shared. The smoke from the bar was noticeable and may keep us from going back. The atmosphere (old house) was OK, but could use some updating. Our table was right by check in and not ideal. Overall really good. Service was friendly and helpful.

Food was amazing as always

We stopped there before going to the Orpheum. When we arrived there was no one at the front and we walked around and said “is there anyone here?” Finally someone came and we went to our table. Service was slow and the food was average. We were disappointed as we have been there many times and thought the food was very good. People kept coming in and there was no one to great them. When our waitress came we told her people were standing and waiting for someone to help them. Disappointed.

Our food was good, service not quite what we were used to but sufficient. This is our third time. There was a table of 6 next to us that was UNBELIEVABLY loud! It was like sitting in a McDonald’s. We were very disappointed as it was a special occasion for us, we cldnt even have a conversation. It made the overall experience very unsavory. Hope this helps in the future. Thanks.

Good food, nice presentation, very flavorful... I restuarant is in a quiet location, off the beaten path and away from the activity in Midtown and Downtown...

Love this spot, glad its in the neighborhood. Look forward to our next visit. They decorated the table for our anniversary and we really enjoyed the bar before and after our meal for custom drinks.

This was my first time dining at Cafe Society. It was a great experience and the waitress was awesome. The cocktails were amazing as well as the ambiance. I will definitely be dining here again!

40 year anniversary

Service was not as usual. Very surprised. Not the usual. Served another bourbon when Makers was ordered and were not told. Shame. This was not the Cafe Society that I was used too. Food was rich as usual and 4 of the 6 entree’s were fabulous as expected. The other 2 were ok. Fish special is always my go to and tonight not so much.

We enjoy dining at Cafe Society, but have noticed over the past few years, the menu has become quite limited. Also, my husband ordered a Whiskey Sour, and it was so full of ice there was barely anything to drink.

Great place for a dinner for two. Service is excellent. Food was outstanding.

The food is always good. The specials are always excellent. The staff is always attentive. Quite atmosphere that is good for conversation. Nice neighborhood to dine outside on a pleasant evening.
