Since re-opening after the pandemic the quality of food at Cafe Sierra has greatly declined. I am a seafood lover and I use to enjoy their seafood buffet. This time lobster was not so clean and crab was tiny. We had a party of five and no one was impressed with the taste and quality of the food

My husband was very excited to surprise me with this dinner to celebrate Mother’s Day.
The front staff was very friendly and welcoming.
Once we got seated to our table we got the same server we had gotten about a year ago. Her name is Maria, we were not t happy with her service then. We thought we give her the benefit of the doubt and another chance. Well we’re we wrong.
Maria in the beginning is friendly, but she is very slow and she forgets about her tables. We got seated @ 5:30pm, we finished our dinner @ 7:30pm. We saw Maria twice after we were seated. We had Caesar and the Manager come check on us more times, then her. We didn’t want to complain, because we were trying to make te best of it.
Maria, gets lost in the back or she is at a station talking and laughing with other staff members instead of checking on her tables as a good server would do. I just think that Maria is to comfortable ( Lazy) or has been there to long and she is tired to improve her services.
We asked her for hot sauce like Tapatio or Chalupa. We told her that we didn’t want Tabasco or anything that taste like that. Maria brings us a large soup bowl types full of Tabasco sauce.😡
At the beginning of our seating we asked Maria for two Jamisons the Rocks. We waited over 30 minutes to get it.
The food was okay, we were disappointed it was not what we expected. The short ribs were dry and hard to chew. The Lobster was over boiled, they were very chewy and no seasoning no taste what so ever. The oysters were full of shatter shells inside of them. The green beans were dry , over cooked and soggy, not crispy or a snap to them at all. We left very disappointed especially because we expected to receive 100% on all the above , since it was my Mother’s Day dinner and with a ticket price that was paid $189.00!😡
We don’t mind paying for good service and food.
I don’t think we will go back.
I wouldn’t recommend it to my friends and family.

The food definitely went down hill dramatically. Don't think we will come back anymore.

I’ve been here years ago and stopped going for awhile. Thought going on Mother’s Day would be special based on what I remember from previous visits. Was not impressed with the ambiance at all. It felt like I was at any Chinese buffet. The only thing I enjoyed was the lobster. Everything else was just ok.

Miriam (the person at the reception) was very nice and respectful. She got us a table and made sure it'll be easy access for my Mom who was in a wheelchair. Jovita (from the Philippines) were very friendly and helpful. Michael (of El Paso) was beyond excellent! My family and I watched how fast and accommodating he is with everyone's request for help. Although the food were not as amazing as it was years ago (there were no orange chicken or waldorf salad even if it was specified on the menu when we booked a month ago), the servers were very nice and always with a smile on their faces EXCEPT for the very, very, very rude person behind the crab legs booth. I respectfully and sweetly requested from him if i can be given another plate for my Mom (who couldn't wheel her way to the corded line because of her wheelchair) but he literally shouted at me and embarrassed me infront of everyone saying "hey lady, can't you see the line behind you?!?" which i then told him about my Mom's plight (wheelchair and all) and wow.. did he seriously banged my plate in the glass counter muttering words (that i couldn't understand) and shouted " next!!" to the next person behind me - who actually told me that she was embarrassed by the same guy the first time she went in line for crabs. Really, he needs to be reprimanded. A lot of people saw how he was with me, even my Mom who was seated on our table heard him because of his booming rude voice. He acted as if his co-workers were afraid to say anything to him (or against him). We paid $250 for food with a tip of $50 only to be treated that way? We hope our tip went to Miriam, Jovita and Michael.

The overall service was good except for a few server to get the food, there is this one server who has an attitude, I was just asking to give me a steam lobster, he gave me a mean look. I don’t know what he’s problem. The Lobster and crabs are not fresh and more watery, the baked salmon is so dry. Not worth the price$$ Not as good as before.

My parents and I always loved coming to the buffet here pre-Covid. So when we found out it was open on the weekends post-Covid we were very excited. We went for an early Mother’s Day celebration dinner. What the most disappointing was the selection for the price. Very limited everything and the price seemed not match. I guess lib will wait till the selection are better before going back.

The customer service was great and the food was yummy. Overall, I had a great experience. Except...two things!! 1st: Since it's not self-serve anymore, you have to stand in a long line for food. 2nd: I wish they had all of the dessert options like they had before the pandemic.

Last, even with the slight modifications...I really, really, love this place and I will continue to go back.

Buffet was cutback a lot. Especially selection of sides, desserts, soups. Had some highlights of shrimp and lobster but they limited how much they would serve you causing you to wait in long lines just fo get larger amounts. Also even lamb being served was missing mint jelly as carver said that they had not gotten it in yet. Salad bar was take out boxes of only Caesar and potato salad which was strangely self service as well as the desserts which only had two types of small cake slices on plates that were self service - since you did not have to use common tongs. I hope that they come back to their original buffet selection. I’d give them a better grade but even the snow crab was very salty and the prime rib was overdone and they kept running out of both at the two stations.

I been going there before and lobster was fresh. Now lobsters are frozen like at sizzler restaurant. I love oysters and on 4/17/21 when I ask the server for 12 oysters he looked at me like I was crazy and started mumbling so Spanish to his coworker next to him . He said he needs to ask the manager which he did I front of me. The manager said now problem give him what he wants. So the next round I went to get 6 oysters from the same server. He made me feel bad uncomfortable again .
It’s $10 less than last year’s buffet but 75% less value and quality.

I was given a 2:30 reservation not knowing that all the food would be taken up at 3. The manger, Mack, adjusted the bill from 4 to 2 but was disappointed that we did not get to enjoy. Our party had a person with mobility differences. Once I was able to help them and went back to get my plate...only a few items were still out.

The brunch selection was great!! I wish I was able to get the items I wanted.

Had a lovely Brunch on Easter and would recommend it for adults. The three adults in my party really enjoyed the food, but there were not a lot of options that small children would be interested in (especially those that are picky). It would have been nice to have a mac n cheese, or chicken tenders or something simple for the kids. Enjoyed the rest of the meal, especially their hash browns, which were delicious!

I know this was the first time the buffet was open in a year. The lines were long and the set up was awkward. The staff was warm and friendly. Perhaps having the same items but with 2 Separate lines would decrease the wait time and line length.
Overall the food was pretty good.
The quality and variety were not up to the previous standards but in time Cafe Sierra will be back like they were before. Overall a decent new beginning.
