Great brunch. Fabulous food, wonderful service. You won't be diappointed.
Nice ambiance. The food was great and the art even better.
The food was good but more expensive than it seemed like it should have been. The wait staff was not great. I think this was just a slow time for the restaurant .
New Chef, new menu....amazing flavors! Don’t miss the flatbread appetizer - it is sublime!!!
As always, the wait staff are excellent and the food was superb! We are planning to make this a regular once a week.
The service was stellar. The welcome stellar. The soup wasn't hot and not enough zing. Love the ambience .
Noisier outside than insode
The food was delicious. I took my grandma here for her birthday, and we both loved our meals.
The perfect place for a birthday lunch with a friend!
Better than ever! The new chef who started recently is doing wonderful things with local ingredients. Corn soup with mole tasted like the essence of fresh corn, and the mole with it was complex. The goat cheese appetizer with eggplant was also outstanding (much better than those things sound together). Risotto and pork shoulder were excellent. The wines by the glass are always something to look forward to. Service and hosting are always welcoming and excellent. A very good evening.
Excellent. Wait staff outstanding, courteous, low-key. Kitchen allowed substitutions, which we greatly appreciated - fruit instead of orzo was particularly fine. We also enjoyed the well-done art tributes on the walls. Tables were a little too close together. Noise level was excellent [quiet].
You can’t top eating in such a well lit space. The staff is so professional and the food was a dream.
Best lunch in KC to date. I will return next time I'm in KC and will certainly recommend Cafe Sebastienne to friends
Absolutely sublime!!! Amazing menu with fresh, innovative ingredients. Do not miss the flatbread with yellow beets and dukkah - We can’t wait to taste it again!
The dishes were outstanding, great food with small flourishes that elevated the cuisine from good to positively delightful. Unlike many restaurants that take a kitchen sink approach to the cuisine, Café Sebastienne uses one or two surprising flavors that make each dish memorable. I've never been tempted to call the chef the next day and beg for a recipe, but I plan to ask how in the world he/she made the barramundi taste as good as it did.
Outstanding food as usual. Not very busy. Should be based on the quality.
Always a wonderful place to have that special occasion lunch/dinner/brunch.
Enjoyable experience. I would go back, particularly if I am in town and need to set up a business lunch.
I'm never disappointed at the restaurant. The menu is very creative.
Great weekend brunch!
This is a serious restaurant, even though it is embedded in a museum. Excellent menu, attentive service.
Four friends met for lunch and enjoyed our meal, shared a bottle of wine and visited to our heart's desire!!
For my friends birthday brunch. Her food was good, came together well. Mine although made absolutely no sense at all. I ordered the sausage which tasted like a beautiful grilled hot dog! Collard greens didn’t go well with the meal, the egg didn’t make sense and I ordered potatoes instead of grits...still didn’t mesh well. Top it off, the sauce tasted like hot wing sauce, so absolutely did not make sense. I was disappointed, but couldn’t reorder because of time.
My friends and I enjoyed a nice lunch here before attending another event at the museum. Our meals were exquisite. The service was very nice. The staff was very welcoming.
Food was excellent!
This is just a wonderful, colorful and delicious place to be.
Up beat atmosphere
Great for friends catching up
We had brunch on 5/6 before the Opera. As usual, the service was excellent and the food as well. The Cafe is probably my favorite restaurant in KC. I recommend or choose this restaurant whenever possible.
Dinner here on Friday night was outstanding! From start to finish. The spinach salad with warm poached egg was perfectly done. We had the halibut as our entrée...again the fish was moist and the accompaniments were perfect. Finally dessert, a coconut cake that was so yummy. The service was very professional. This is such a wonderful restaurant in a unique setting. We will definitely be back.
I have been going to the Café, located inside the Kemper Museum for years. The wonderful food changes monthly, service is always 5star, always great wines & cocktails to choose from. This visit my friend & I ate dinner after a free one hour concert just outside the café. Thursday and Friday nights dinner is served; lunch Tuesdays thru Saturdays; Sunday Brunch is always popular!!!
Enjoy visiting the Nelson Art Museum and this is a handy spot for lunch. lunch was nothing special and over priced for what we ordered. Presentation was also nothing to gain special attention. Don't thing we will return.
From the moment we arrived we felt totally in your care. Charles, our server, was wonderfully attentive to our needs and his timing was perfect. The food was terrific.
Having a transactional conversation over lunch while looking at art creates an atmosphere unduplicated in Kansas City. Already looking forward to the next visit.
For delicious food and great service, the best restaurant in Kansas City!
I love this restaurant. I went to brunch 2 Saturdays in a row, first for my sister’s birthday and the second time for my Mom’s birthday.
The service was great on both occasions. The salmon Benny was delicate and elegant, with wonderful flavors. The second time, I had the trout omelet. It was very good. We had a dessert to share, on both occasions. The lemon cake and a triple layered chocolate with pistachios. Both delivered the desired decadence.
Very tasty, gourmet cuisine. Great service. A bit on the pricy side. Highly recommend.
We had an amazing dinner which included: arugula salad, Indian chicken soup, the halibut entree and a coconut cake. The service was great. We will definitely be back.
Always a great meal in a gracious setting. Wonderful staff give a personal touch and excellent wine recommendations. The country French food is perfectly prepared and a constant delight with a variety of tastes. Very easy and fast drive from Johnson County.
Really good flavorful food with art center atmosphere.
We love the setting and the bonus museum special art exhibits! Food is very good. Avoid the bison which was unusually fatty and had no taste.
It was really cool in the interior cafe ...very uncomfortable.
