Food was OK, but the service was extremely slow. Even once the staff finally came to the table, it took a long time to get our food and check. The strangest part was that there hardly were any other customers in the restaurant.

The Porchetta was way too fatty, with very little pork. A big disappointment since until now I have never had a bad meal at this classy restaurant. The chef is new, and needs to hear this criticism. Limited gluten-free options during this Valentine’s Day dinner.

Cafe Sebastienne NEVER fails to deliver! The food from the new chef is a great compliment to the Cafe as well as to all patrons. The ambiance cannot be beat; the entire experience is a tantalizing foray into the art of food!

This is truly one of the best restaurants in KCMO. Service always excellent. Atmosphere amazing. Menu ever-changing, fresh, diverse, interesting and satisfying. Lunch, dinner, brunch or date night, this is a safe bet always.

Café Sebastienne is back!!!

We were regulars of the restaurant before the tragic loss of Executive Chef Jennifer Maloney. This is the first time we have been back since, and are we ever glad we went.

New Executive Chef Remy Ayesh certainly had some big shoes to fill. She impressed us and we are convinced that she is a worthy and gifted choice, and she is a perfect fit for this uniquely charming restaurant. Her talents were evident in every dish we ordered. The featured soup,, tomato and artichoke with a cream base and cheese topping, was bursting with flavor. The salads were unique and delicious, each highlighted by mouth watering dressings and particularly flavorful cheeses ( no surprise since Chef Remy honed her skills at Chicago’s landmark Spiaggia) The swordfish was perfectly cooked and flavorful, and each of the sides, including the butternut squash polenta , were r tasty and well prepared. And the Olive Cake was the perfect ending to an exquisite dining experience.

We left feeling that Jennifer Maloney would be proud of her replacement, and would encourage her loyal regulars to support this talented and charming young chef.

The food was fine. The bloody mary has changed since last visit. It needs to change back. Our visitor from Munich was impressed and enjoyed the experience.

I was insulted by this establishment. They called me after I ate lunch there today and accused me of not paying. I told them I paid $40 cash for a $30 lunch for 2 people, rec’d a $5 and 5 one’s for change and left a $6 tip. They put me on hold, came back in several minutes and said “oh, the waitress found the money”. No apologies, nothing. I will not return. They have lost a long time customer of many, many years. I’m still fuming at being accused of stealing and no apology.

Everything was wonderful except one thing was not clear...there were only 6 of us, 3 couples. The bills had 20% added as tip. That would have been fine if we were told that, but we were not, either by the server or on the menu. We are all 20% or more tippers. I feel that it should have been said to us at delivery of tab, at reservation or written on the menu.

Another OUTSTANDING dining experience at this very special place. We do not get there as often as we like but every time we do go, we remind ourselves to go more often. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable and top rate. The food is creative, delicious and healthy. Super experience!! Thank you!

The open airiness of it is wonderful. I had the best mussels I have ever tasted. Fresh not chewy. The vegetable frittata was excellent also I am told. The big biscuit I am told was a little spicy but they still enjoyed it. Excellent coffee!

Great food but needed more servers since it was Restaurant Week. That is the time to shine and the service was SLOW. If you don't mind slow service, the food was excellent.

What a wonderful meal my friend and I had! I chose the pick 3 combo, which allowed me to sample a few different things. (I wanted to try them all)! The food was very fresh, appealing in presentation, and delicious! Jorge, our server, was great. Finally, I enjoyed trying the unique Olive Oil Cake, and I was NOT disappointed! I will be back!

We have treasured our past visits to Cafe Sebastienne and were eager to try it again after a lengthy hiatus. Unfortunately, our high hopes were not met by the new chef or the unsmiling servers during our Restaurant Week experience. It was painfully obvious that Chef Jennifer Maloney’s honest-yet-discerning palate no longer influences what comes out of the kitchen. Cafe Sebastienne, where is the heart—the love of good, real food?

Chewy and fatty tenderloin that was over cooked in the Beef Wellington dish. Simply awful is all I can say about the food I had.

Once again, we were so pleased with our meal at Cafe Sebastienne. Our daughter was visiting from San Francisco and we wanted a relaxing place where we could visit for brunch on Christmas Eve. And, with a tasty menu. Did I mention she doesn't eat wheat or dairy? So it was PERFECT! She ordered the trout with lentils and butternut squash puree -- it was really delicious (I did sneak a taste) and everything else we had was just as good. Want to come back and not waiting for her to visit again!

Menu was very limited. We are not a big fan of duck and it seemed there were a lot of dishes with duck. We would have ordered the steak, but you ran out. Would prefer a menu with more variety.....chicken, fish, steak, pasta.

The duck cassoulet was superb. The ambience would be terrific if you would play music that compliments the room instead of the pop music one hears at Applebee's. I notice your choices on sound in this survey are quiet, moderate and energetic. What happened to "too loud"? Light jazz or classical would go with the art.

Good food. Small menu to focus on flavor bye options for everyone for lunch. Our table of 6 had 4 different entrees. Each equally delicious. The menu does change seasonally.

This is one of our favorite KC restaurants for Brunch. We had another great experience
this time with four guests. The Bloody Mary got exceptionally high marks as did the food. I had a salmon benedict with two perfectly cooked poached eggs. Two in our group ordered a croissant stuffed with pastrami and cheese. That also got high marks. Our waiter was right there when we needed him and provided perfect service. The only thing I'd point out is that if you sit in the atrium area it's a little noisy. If that concerns you, opt to be seated inside.

I have heard all kinds of good reviews about this restaurant so my friends and I decided to give it a try. The ambience was very warm and cozy as we were surrounded with art on the walls. However, I was very disappointed with my order. I wanted the kobe corned beef hash and there was no presence of meat in my dish. The cocktail I had was very good though but won’t come back just for that.

This was the first time we'd eaten in the open courtyard area. So noisy! The acoustics made it challenging to hear our own conversation. Such a difference from when we sit inside as normally. The food was good, as always, but our service was a bit "less than" usual. While friendly, the server just didn't measure up. Still, a great venue for a unique meal in an artsy setting. We'll keep coming.
