Outstanding on all fronts!
Cafe Sebastienne was such a special place to celebrate my birthday.Darby created dishes that were divine and made our evening so memorable! Thank you to Charles, Kasey, Ethan, Michael, Tim and Darby for spoiling us!!!
It could've been a bad day, but the Cafe seemed short-staffed and the food was not up to the standards we have experienced in previous visits. Our server was knowledgable about the menu, but had too many tables to service us quickly for our orders or regularly for requests and drink refills. The food was skimpy and without much taste: for example, the corned beef sandwich had 1 small slice of corned beef on a very thin sandwich, with bread which was basically tasteless. The duck confit entree salad was small, using only chopped romaine lettuce and no other vegetables, with what was just like a small amount of shredded chicken without much flavor. For $16 each, this food was unsatisfactory. Dessert described as a lime cake with a dab of milk jam, which was delectably described by our server as a caramelized dab over tender cake ornamented by an airy lavender poof, was tiny with less than a "dab" of the caramel so as to be impossible to taste it and very dry cake, again just like a flavorless angel food cake. The ornament was a bit of cotton candy, not very ornamental and not adding much flavor. Overall, very disappointing.
Very satisfied. Will be back and I will highly recommend it my family and friends.
The cafe is in a museum with good food and some alcohol options. Worth checking out for the vibe alone.
Food was very disappointing. Carrot soup was as thin as water. Tasty but unappealing in texture. Salad was wet soggy lettuce and some dirty radishes. The world is your oyster when it comes to vegetable selection........how about some shaved fresh fennel, some hearts of palm or anything fresh and crisp? This restaurant restaurant needs to up its game.
What a creative and unique place to have a meal plus view the gallery. The food is excellent and so is the service. But what makes this place truly an event is the artwork everywhere you look. We had a wonderful time looking at everything and talking about what we saw.
Tonight’s meal was simply sublime...possibly the most delicious meal we have ever enjoyed at Cafe Sebastienne! The dishes are innovative and ingredients are fresh and seasonal! The mushroom dish was divine.
We have been to Cafe Sebastienne many times. This occasion was brunch. We always ask for a table where Charles will serve us. He is charming, efficient, and knows his menu.
Our waiter was absolutely horrible. Food was good but very overpriced. Will not return
The trio of soup, salad, and sandwich is a great deal...the Rueben was so good!
Lovely day and a dining experience to match
I enjoy the experience every time I go there to eat. Charles is an excellent waiter, always remembers the wine I like. This time the menu was a little confusing, with minimal explanation. Would have liked a little more detail.
It's a beautiful place, surrounded by art. Nice and quiet so you can carry on a conversation. Servers are attentive and professional, knowledgable. And the food is just outstanding from a surprise amuse bouche through the salad, entree, and dessert. A wonderful restaurant.
The bread for the egg sandwich must had been toasted the day before. It was not edible
The Waiter was very attentive and brought a basket of bread and deducted the item from our bill. The other two Walleye meals were excellent
Chef, management, waiter all fabulous and gave us a lot of attention. Food was superb- gorgeous, inventive and delicious!!!! Great job
Soup/outstanding. Ordered just a cup. Salad, yummy. Friend was pleased with French Toast/Bacon, half order. The correct amount.
WONDERFUL AND THE FOOD WAS AWESOME!!
Food was very good - quite innovative. The wait staff was great explaining the different offerings; very attentive, but not overbearing. The chef came out and chatted looking for any good or bad feedback and was very excited about some of the new dishes that are coming up. This is an intimate, fun environment where it's quiet enough to have a good conversation.
Our meal was from the Sunday brunch menu. My husband ordered monkfish and was given no warning the the portions would be tiny. He was served about 4 oz of fish on top of a smear of sweet potato and literally 2 Brussels sprouts cut in half. The waiter saw his look of dismay and quickly offered a side of potato. The space is lovely and staff are friendly but “small plates” should not be on the menu as a meal.
Always a great brunch . Food, service atmosphere always superb . Also don't pass up starting with the scones . They are always a treat .
I loved the ambiance of setting in the main dining room with all the interpretative art. I loved the duck dish and would do it again. Keep growing the menu and add a special on Thursday nights!
Excellent lunch. Love the reuben sandwich and carrot salad
Favorite brunch spot in KC! I love the sunlit indoor patio and the food is always perfect. Great friendly staff as well.
Amazing food, fast service, and a beautiful location!
Fantastic atmosphere. You will not have a bad meal here. Chef Rick Mullins brings his persistent A game and charm to every plate.
What a delightful lunch experience! The crab cakes were perfect and my ginger vinaigrette mint salad was full of flavor. Loved our server.
We adore Cafe Sebastienne! The “new” chef is doing a great job!
This is my go to restaurant for business meetings, and the sunny atrium was delightful. The trout was amazing.
The food here was unreal. I got the Kobe corned beef hash and a Gin Collins, and everything was perfect. My dining companions and I are still raving about how phenomenal everything was!
The overall experience was good. The sides I ate were delicious, particularly the empanadas. I thought the flat bread wasa bit odd. But, of course, that's simply a matter of taste.
Fabulous food and fabulous atmosphere! Just fabulous all round!
Brunch: Delicious food for adults and kids. Fun atmosphere. Will definitely go back!
New chef is great.
Delicious lunch before art. Wonderful waiter. Most enjoyable.
This is KC’ s best restaurant. My best to all at Cafe Sebastienne.
We went for Valentine’s Day. It was a wonderful experience. The food was delicious and the art exhibits made it a memorable night for both of us. Would recommend Cafe Sebastienne to anyone.
Server had some problems, must have forgotten our order we were literally the 1st people in when they opened and others had their main course and dessert before we ever even got our meal and only then after asking twice. The wine for wine pairing for the 1st 2 courses was delivered after we had completely finished the courses. Manager was very kind and gave us a gift certificate for another visit. This is the 1st time we've ever had this much trouble. We truly enjoy this restaurant.
Delightful. Unique. Artsy. Comfortable. Food better than expected. One small weakness, wines mediocre.
