Favorite brunch spot in KC! I love the sunlit indoor patio and the food is always perfect. Great friendly staff as well.
Amazing food, fast service, and a beautiful location!
Fantastic atmosphere. You will not have a bad meal here. Chef Rick Mullins brings his persistent A game and charm to every plate.
What a delightful lunch experience! The crab cakes were perfect and my ginger vinaigrette mint salad was full of flavor. Loved our server.
We adore Cafe Sebastienne! The “new” chef is doing a great job!
This is my go to restaurant for business meetings, and the sunny atrium was delightful. The trout was amazing.
The food here was unreal. I got the Kobe corned beef hash and a Gin Collins, and everything was perfect. My dining companions and I are still raving about how phenomenal everything was!
The overall experience was good. The sides I ate were delicious, particularly the empanadas. I thought the flat bread wasa bit odd. But, of course, that's simply a matter of taste.
Fabulous food and fabulous atmosphere! Just fabulous all round!
Brunch: Delicious food for adults and kids. Fun atmosphere. Will definitely go back!
New chef is great.
Delicious lunch before art. Wonderful waiter. Most enjoyable.
This is KC’ s best restaurant. My best to all at Cafe Sebastienne.
We went for Valentine’s Day. It was a wonderful experience. The food was delicious and the art exhibits made it a memorable night for both of us. Would recommend Cafe Sebastienne to anyone.
Server had some problems, must have forgotten our order we were literally the 1st people in when they opened and others had their main course and dessert before we ever even got our meal and only then after asking twice. The wine for wine pairing for the 1st 2 courses was delivered after we had completely finished the courses. Manager was very kind and gave us a gift certificate for another visit. This is the 1st time we've ever had this much trouble. We truly enjoy this restaurant.
Delightful. Unique. Artsy. Comfortable. Food better than expected. One small weakness, wines mediocre.
The chitarra pasta dish with mushrooms was delicious.
Loved the breakfast and lunch menu! Very fresh ingredients prepared and served nicely.
Got birthday Brunch! So great, as always! One of my favorite places!!
I was given a coupon during KC Restaurant week so we used it prior to a show at the KC Rep. Although the menu at first glance did not have anything that sounded appealing, I had the soup and shared a flatbread with pumpkin and tomato (so yummy) and then had a dessert. The perfect amount of food. Service was great (Staff inquired if we had an engagement and were under time constraints). We left restaurant at exactly the time agreed upon.
Very pleasant lunch!
A wonderful place for Sunday brunch - not a buffet. Enjoy the museum before or after.
I love the atmosphere! It is an awesome place to have lunch and then tour the gallery. It is bright, and open and has clean lines and great art. The food is always wonderful, creative, and presented in a lovely manner. It always makes me happy (even on a gloomy winter day)! You can also have a conversation with a friend without feeling you have to shout over all the noise. It is one of my favorite spots in the city!
Love the creative menu, beautiful presentation, and the glorious decor of the restaurant—the history of art by John Frederick Brown.
I am sorry that I do not live close to the Kemper. When I am near the Plaza, I try to eat at the cafe. The food is always delicious. It is difficult to select a meal, since there are so many unique entrees, salads and dessert combinations on the menu.
I have been to Cafe Sebastienne several times, but this was by far the worst experience I've ever had. I usually enjoy the meal and go there for the ambiance. However, neither of these could overcome the horrendous service we received. Our waitress was flustered and could not handle the thought of more than two tables to wait on. She made attempts at apologies, but this did not excuse the fact that she was incapable at performing her job. We were constantly waiting for warm coffee, and the general managers refused to acknowledge of our displeasure. What should have taken 45 minutes instead turned into the slowest moving 2 hours of my life. This was such a bummer to experience, and I sincerely hope the management get their heads out of the sand and work to fix this predicament.
This restaurant is a wonderful jewel. The food is amazing--innovative, but not too far out. Chef will accommodate special requests if you want to leave something out. Try the empanadas or the flatbread appetizers---delicious. The chicken entree is enough for 2 and is so juicy. We also loved the octopus.
Try the ice cream for dessert or the cobbler.
First time. Food was good. Nice atmosphere. Will sit in the atrium next time too
Excellent service, we were charmingly treated and as always the food was delicious.
Our compliments to the chef and staff.
One of my favorite restaurants! It never disappoints. Besides the food always being delicious and creative, the service is always wonderful.
Excellent brunch. Food was good and our server was just the right mix of professional and friendly.
Food was great. The atmosphere was kinda loud. The drinks were disappointing, lots of ice and little alchohol.
Over priced. The food was incredibly average Nd the portions ridiculously small.
Had a lovely dinner. This restaurant is a gem!
The tables were way too close together. Our server had to keep handing me food behind my friend or over the table. I had to hand her the dirty dishes. She apologized. The prime rib was tough. Cooked to specs but tough. Chicken was very good as was squash soup! Dessert was great too but microscopic scoop of ice cream, pathetic. The server was nice but her shirt was cut disgustingly low. Got tired of looking at her.
Server was very polite and attentive, with my table and others. The food was poor in the kindest way put. It was tepid on arrival and not pleasant. Only good comment for consumed items was the wine which was not prepared by them. It was restaurant week, but it was not full or busy by appearance. Management asked how I enjoyed my meal and I asked if they really wanted to know and I told them. They comped the food items and apologized. I have been there in the distant past and it was worthy of all its acclaim, but not this visit. Perhaps it is was an off night, but I’m not hard to please and this time it was plain ordinary and not special.
Dinner with out of town guests during restaurant week. Our server was excellent and the portions were spot on - we left feeling satisfied, but not stuffed! Such a fun place for dinner.
We have experienced consistently good food, ambiance and service. Yesterday we really enjoyed the creamy butternut squash soup, trout lunch and pasta lunch from the KC Restaurant Week menu.
Finally made it here. The food was great and well prepared. Disappointed that the main gallery was closed, especially during Restaurant Week which brings in more people. Small gallery, but food made up for this inconvenience. The soup was very tasty and trout cooked perfectly. Highly recommend
Our group of eight turned out to be six on this wintry day. The waiter was cordial and helpful and we all enjoyed the trout as the main course. I'm glad Cafe Sebastienne has a new chef.
