I entertained 3 guests who had not been to Café Sapori, even tho they live in Florida. They loved it and I have mentioned this before.....one feels as if they are in Manhattan when you dine there. The waiters are very professional and are there for your every need.
We all ordered something different but I go back for the Ravioli with spinach and parsnip garnish. Love it !!!
Located at the corner of Southern Boulevard and Washington Road, you might zip past the unassuming peach stucco and hedge enclosure, but this elegant restaurant is not to be missed. Refined, but not stuffy, our server was polite, informed and attentive but never hovering. The Osso Buco Papparadelle was rich and savory, Risotto ai Frutti di Mare delicious, but the ever tricky calamari in the sauce could have been more tender. The clams, shrimp and scallops, however, were very fresh and tender. The special of Asparagus and Winter Squash Ravioli was the standout, with tender pasta asparagus ricotta and sautéed cubed winter squash and a hint of fresh thyme. The desserts were perhaps some of the best I have had anywhere. The cannoli with sweet sheep milk Ricotta were perfection, accompanied with julienne of candied Seville orange peel, pistachio ice cream and Limoncello syrup. The special carrot and pear tart was a surprising flavor combination that worked well, the caramelized carrot providing a depth of flavor to the dessert. The pastry chef here is clearly an artist. I hope to return on my next visit to West Palm Beach.
The service was horrible. I felt they were rushing us out, taking the plates away before we were finished. Nothing was good about it. The food, which is normally good, was bland and tasteless. Two of us barely ate our meals but no one bothered to ask we had a problem.
While I've been to Cafe Sapori many times, it will be a long time before I return.
Food was good but portions were smaller than usual for the prices charged, noise level high, waiter Nando was not very accommodating at first and had a slight “attitude” . rushed to take our drink order and then was distracted ..but then when the restaurant emptied out a little , he was better. I love this restaurant and brought friends of ours . It was their first time. They were a little disappointed!
Over all very good experience.
Love the ambiance fancy without being overly fancy
Service was great didn't feel crowed by server but didn't feel ignored. Drinks were promptly refilled.
The food was generally good.
We started with the crab cakes which were my favorite part of the meal. They were lightly fried or maybe baked and served with a tasty slightly spicy dipping sauce and (really yummy) guacamole. Delicious.
For dinner I had the ravioli stuffed with spinach and ricotta with butter sage sauce. It was good not great. Sauce was well done but nothing blew me away.
Boyfriend has the chicken parm it was pounded very thin and had pretty good flavor but again not fantastic. I think my taste buds are a bit skewed tho being from the north east.
For dessert we got the chocolate hazelnut cake which was good but very rich. "Real chocolate not American chocolate" as my boyfriend said.
Bill came to just 80 dollars which is very fair given the service and number of courses we had.
I wouldn't call it GREAT Italian food but I'm comparing it to the north end restaurants in Boston so I'd only say pretty good overall but probably great for south Florida Italian
Our Server was Tim and he was warm and inviting from the moment I walked in the door. He anticipated our needs, communicated clearly, had a pleasant and friendly demeanor and didn't rush us through our meal. The ambiance is white-table-cloth lovely without being stiff.
The food was superb and there are many interesting food items I will be trying in the days to come.
The restaurant owner came over at least twice to check in with us and was quite cordial and friendly.
I am thinking of having my Christmas staff party there next year in the private room or in the outside seating area.
We have dined here many times. Almost always take friends who haven't been there before.
Everyone loves it. Last Saturday was no exception. Took friends who enjoyed it very much.
We had linguini with clam sauce, Chicken Parmesan, seafood with broccoli, and roasted chicken. All very good but my friend who had the chicken said that although it was good, she would try a more adventurous dish next time.
We Also like the fact that each time we go there, patrons are always dressed appropriately. I've yet to see blue jeans or shorts on anyone.
Have dined here many times and find it consistent as far as good food and service.
Here this Sat. night at 7 which is a very busy time. They really try to get the food out at a good pace. It was my wife's birthday and bought a lovely desert with candle and sang Happy Birthday.
Will go back soon.
