Friendly, warm atmosphere. Excellent food, excellent service. A definite "We will be back" kind of place.
Disappointing... very ordinary food and NOT inexpensive.
This was a wonderful location for a dinner date. All of the staff were extremely friendly, courteous, and helpful, and went out of their way to make it a special meal.
Maybe only one other couple at 6pm on that weekday, and a few more after an hour or so.
Excellent food, service, and ambiance, as always. Try the lamb shanks if they're on special. Melt-in-your-mouth, fall of the bone! My birthday friend loved her lobster and shrimp, too. Even the bread and butter is uncommonly good here! If you drink, please don't miss the one-of-a-kind Irish Coffee!
Cafe Renaissance is a charming restaurant with lovely atmosphere and delicious food. One of my favorites in Vienna
Great place to relax and enjoy a meal with family and friends. The owner is hospitable and the staff is professional. The service is based on your pace. You don't feel pressured to pay the bill and leave. The desserts are delicious and the Irish coffee could not be better.
This spot is not to be missed.
Romantic, casually elegant, fine food, great atmosphere.
Flavor is an indication of the essential character of something.
Great flavors created at Cafe Cafe Renaissance.
The entire staff is your family there to create a time and place for you to enjoy meal.
Let it go.... Take your time .
We had the Chateaubriand for 2. It was very very good. Ate it all. The chef checked for our approval of his use of brandy in the sauce. It was fun to have input.
Allow 2 hrs for a a fine dining experience that you will want to repeat.
Great place, great food.
You'll have a good time and a good meal.
The staff is top drawer. They show you how....
A real treat.
Brunch opens at 10:30. We got there at 11:00 and had the place to ourselves. (We learned most folks come after 12:30.) The fresh flowers everywhere we're gorgeous. There is a $20 special which includes choice of soup/salad, choice from 4 entrees (we had chicken marsala and sole with champagne sauce) and miniature desserts. Everything was done impeccably. We have now been there for brunch, lunch, dinner and the monthly wine dinners and have always left feeling satisfied. It is an experience.
This is the fourth time we have dined at Cafe Renaissance and it was another perfect experience. Menu was great, wine list was great, service great and the food was wonderful. The lobster and rockfish were done to perfection. Cafe Renaissance is at the top of our list for dining experience and value.
Always great !!!
This was a family gathering and, as usual, the service, attention to detail, friendly ambience and outstanding food made a special occasion even more special and memorable. We never miss a chance to get there when we're in town.
Great birthday dinner with my wife and son.
Be ready for a fine time. The experience of being transported to a local gem of a European cafe not in France or Italy as your senses tell you but in Vienna, Virginia. Tell your friends if they go, surrender to to atmosphere. The wonderful staff will make it a first class tightly knit fine meal for you. Get to know them....Let them take you away. Bon appetit.
Always and ever the best.....you can't beat Cafe Renaissance, the warm and welcoming host and staff, outstanding food and beautifully imaginative floral arrangements. We lovd it!
My husband and I have visited Cafe Renaissance for about 5 years now. It has never failed when it comes to friendly service and having a romantic ambiance. I would recommend this neighborhood gem to everyone. It's not completely visible from the main road but it's well worth the drive. The food is delicious and well priced for a couple to dine out for a date night.
The service was excellent and the food was superb. We will be repeat customers.
Cozy, warm French restaurant with lovely staff and outstanding food
We enjoyed a relaxing, romantic evening at Cafe Renaissance on Valentine's Day. The wine recommendation was excellent. The food was high quality, the service attentive but not intrusive. We will return for a date night soon.
My husband and I went to Cafe Renaissance for Valentine's Day. For the occasion, the restaurant had a fixed, 3-course dinner. We had a choice of about 6 appetizers, about a dozen entrees, and then a dessert sampler. A wonderful dinner! And, even though the restaurant was completely full, we could still carry on a conversation or enjoy the background music.
From the greeting we received as we came through the door until we left after dinner, the experience was characterized by friendly and responsive service, a warm ambiance and scrumptious food. The mushroom and leek soup was outstanding as were the braised beef ribs—then the limoncello cake—wow!!!
Friendly, welcoming place with good food and a pleasant atmosphere. We went the evening before Valentine's Day to beat the rush. Neither of us found it quite as good as some of the reviews we'd read led us to believe, however. My flounder with saffron sauce and a small crabcake, one of the specials that evening, was pretty ordinary and the sauce quite bland. My wife had a thick filet mignon with a Dubonet glaze. It was tasty, but the glaze/sauce was insufficient for the size of the steak. We liked the assortment of accompanying vegetables. It was our first visit and we will probably return to try something quite different to see if we can discover what all the fuss is about.
Excellent service and great ambiance. We appreciated the meals served very hot and the personalized service from everyone starting with the maître d’ through to the chef.
Authentic French kitchen with classy, stylish service and atmosphere.
Top notch food, service and experience. Staff was outstanding.
Enjoyed the evening with my wife. Great service, excellant food. Very friendly Owner/Manager.
Had the flounder with a lobster sauce — fantastic! Food always delicious and service excellent and friendly.
Wonderful evening out! Great food, attentive service, overall a terrific experience.
Excellent in every way. Not only is the food and service outstanding, you'll walk out of there having truly made new friends.
This place is nothing to look at from the outside, but once you get inside it's pretty great. The staff is attentive and very nice. The food is really excellent. I don't even like oysters and I ate 2 of them from my wife's oyster appetizer plate. Anything done tableside was really quite a show. We didn't try the Irish Coffee but it looked amazing.
The food and service were excellent at the Cafe. I had the monk fish special with a pureed orange pepper sauce; my two friends had the vegetarian lasagna. The monk fish was tender and tasty, and my friends said they liked the lasagna which had egg plant in it. We all had delicious chocolate mousse for dessert. The service was attentive, but not intrusive. We lingered on about an hour after lunch, drinking tea and chatting. They didn't try to hustle us out.
Delightful. Charming. Quaint. Very friendly. Great service. Old time stellar European service and cuisine. Menu emphasizes on French seafood. We enjoyed all of it. We will definitely go back.
The food was splendid, the wait staff attentive without being intrusive, the ambiance relaxed without being too informal. The great show of the owner making our Irish coffees at the table was wonderful. Outstanding evening.
Lackluster older strip mall exterior gives way to an intimate interior ambiance. Food is excellent, as are the wine selections for a small restaurant. Service is attentive and very engaging with customers. Just expect that. If you want some place that is more private and quiet, les vibrant, this may not be the best choice.
Cafe Renaissance is always a very nice place for brunch, lunch or dinner. Once in a while an entree can be a bit off the mark. Brunch fish entree in Marsala sauce didn't exactly make it this time, but the restaurant will get many more opportunities with us to succeed.
This restaurant is the best of the best. Food, service, atmosphere, experience is the best of the best. We’ve been going here for 20 years and it is always top notch.
My wife and I enjoyed ourselves and the service was excellent. We both thought our entrees were just “satisfactory “. Not terrible but not terrific either. The restaurant is nicely decorated and quiet.
Have been going here since they opened in late 80’s. The food is consistent and service is excellent. The owner is a gem and is most gracious. They will accommodate your culinary needs whether you are on special diet or vegetarian.
This is our new favorite restaurant that we will go to time after time. It's great for a fine intimate dinner for two or to go with a small group of friends. The food was excellent as was the service. I also liked the busboy/helper who let us linger over our dinner and made us feel at ease. The waiter was friendly, most knowledgeable and attentive. After dinner the owner stopped by to offer us some port wine in appreciation for our being there and because he was gracious to his guests. Don't let the location, in a small strip mall, put you off. Go inside and enjoy a great meal.
This place is a good get away. All good. A place to go when you need a good meal. Allow lots of time...the pace is gated but worth the experience if you're not in a rush. Your waiter may elect to help you with what you order by telling you what you need and want.. they know. A trust in your waiter is in order. Surrender..
